Speaking of Mike's Alzheimer's and things he's flashing back to as part of it, wasn't he part of "Port Charles" for a while?  Didn't he own or run the Recovery Room, and wasn't he dating the Scanlon matriarch?

Yes re: the Recovery Room; he rented the back apartment to Dr. Matt Harmon, too. I don’t specifically remember him dating Mary Scanlon, but now that you mention it, I think they may have gone out a few times (or attended evernts together) before Mary started dating Victor (Kevin’s father), whom she later married.

  2. I’m in my early 30s and I’ve loved Betty Boop since I was a child. I had at least two VHS tapes with her cartoons (“Swat The Fly,” which also features Pudgy, was my favorite). I dressed as her for Halloween twice.

That said, I didn’t think any of the looks captured her essence, and I hated her voice - it sounded like a bad impression. And count me in the “Why was Popeye even there?!” Party.

The one about the kama sutra (ocean animal) sex positions was so hard. I drew a blank. Further proof that it was so random was that nobody from the panel matched each other.

Agreed. That clue was 100% “We can’t even come up with a clever setup so just make an ocean-related sex pun.” I find it less fun when the clue has no real direction.

And that may be part of why they were chosen. They sure didn't audition for the show. Most of them clearly don't understand the game at all.

I have an acquaintance who is going to be on this season. The contestants are chosen beforehand - NOT from the audience. However, when my acquaintance described the process he went through to be selected, he did not mention any discussion of game play or practice rounds, so, to me, it seems players are chosen solely based on their potential as “good TV.”

Edited to add I’m still fuming from the judges accepting “ship” as “yacht.”  Thats like accepting “rectangle” for “square” - a square IS a rectangle, but a rectangle isn’t necessarily a square, and the same holds true for ship/yacht. Chinese food was another one - I can see accepting Lo Mein since this isn’t the final match, but “noodles”? “RICE”?! They could have just said “oranges” or “food” if we’re playing it that fast and loose with the judging parameters. The wildly inconsistent judging is incredibly unfair to the contestants and incredibly infuriating to me as a viewer.

(Plus, I couldn’t stand Gravy Ship Lady and found it incredibly rude for her to flip Joel McHale off - especially since she then selected him to give an answer. He’s a better man than I because my answer would have been my middle finger.)

Each segment had a black title card that said "if so and so called."

This episode reminded me of the “Remedial Chaos Theory” episode of Community. Unfortunately, I didn’t think it was nearly as successful and I found the majority of the episode to be seriously lacking. One standout moment for me, though, was when Tim thought he had wet himself but it was really just the heated seat - I am in no way exaggerating when I say he had me crying with laughter.

This episode underwhelmed me, but I still love the show overall and look forward to it every week.

The lady playing the Mystery 7 actually did not beat the buzzer on the last answer (baton). I was surprised they gave it to her because I rewound that and re-watched it twice and the buzzer definitely sounded before she said "baton."

This - coupled with her blatant description instead of examples of "What a _____ would say" (totally blanking on what the answer was, sorry) - really angried up my blood. ESPECIALLY so soon after the Christening/Baptism fiasco.

I honestly don't feel like the show is significantly different than it was at the beginning. I just think the novelty has worn off. This show has never been laugh-out-loud, side-splittingly funny. It has its charms and an appealing cast, but it's primary draw has always been quirky family dynamics they think most people can relate to in one way or another. The more they stretch it, the less relateable it becomes. They've already sort of run out of the usual new girlfriend, new parents, new babysitter type of storylines so the ideas have become more and more absurd.

I have always found and still do find the show laugh-out-loud, side-splittingly funny. Not every storyline in every episode, but, for me, the laughs greatly exceed the duds. I'm so happy it's been renewed. This is the #1 show I look forward to each week!

  8. When the victim was asked (on the stand) why she had changed her mind about testifying, I swear, I thought she was going to say, "Because Lieutenant Benson kept showing up at my house and refused to leave my doorstep until I agreed."

I don't understand how Len gave Heather a freaking 6 because of a hip hop breakdown? It was two seconds out of the dance.

I figured the 6 was because the hip hop was the only part of the dance that she seemed comfortable/proficient with. I thought her hips were awkward and jerky and her kicks/flicks completely lackluster and nearly nonexistent. I chalked it up to, maybe she needs more time to learn the intricacies of a style - but I still thought a 6 was generous.

Had to love Barba going after the "pastor" with his employment at "Bunnies"!  The way Barba kept saying it cracked me up.  I love it when he has someone by the short ones!

This, to the Nth power. Raúl has such a way with his tone. It's magnificent - and, often, hilarious.

Did I miss something, I must have because I don't know why Tim and Heather's son and his wife kept saying "do you feel anything yet"?

I was confused about that too, but admittedly may not have been paying close enough attention.

I, too, thought I had missed a very significant plot point here. My best guess was that they had eaten shrooms or perhaps pot brownies or something like that? Whatever it was, if they mentioned it, I missed it. And I'm not quite sure why, because I really love this episode. Maybe it was just mentioned in passing?

  12. It didn't bother me that they didn't show Sophia from the front. At first, I was expecting it. But after a second, I realized it may have been more comedically successful to just show the reactions. If the front view wasn't perfectly hilarious, it would have just been awkward and weird. The reactions were the best part!

If they ever needed a BMS, it was for Sutherland.  It could have been Donald or any of his three sons - Angus, Rossif or Kiefer William Frederick Dempsey George Rufus (how's that for a freaking name?).

Seriously. No BMS for Sutherland was nothing short of BS.

  14. 1. Asylum (Far and away my favorite. James Cromwell plays a big part in this decision.)

    2. Murder House

    3. Hotel

    4. Freak Show (The musical numbers. Why, God, why?)

    5. Roanoke

I didn't watch Coven, so I can't rank it. But even having never seen it, I feel like it still ranks above Roanoke. I was really incredibly disappointed in Roanoke, which only had one episode I legitimately enjoyed.

They were part of an "I Want More" fan event - I just attended today in NJ. I think BC was a replacement because the original ad for the event included Kin Shriner. Also in attendance were Ian Buchanan (Duke), Kathleen Gati (Obrecht), and Rick Hearst (Ric), who hosted. It was a collection of characters fans want to see more of. Unfortunately, from the way they all were speaking, we probably won't be seeing any of them in the near future...

The beer thing seemed dumb, and i love beer and have actual beer on tap at home. Seems totally like the kind of thing that people would put on their wedding registry and then use once a year. Especially if itis hard to clean. Plus the demo was flawed, since the fizzics beer was served in a better glass, which will make a difference in flavour. It also looked like the beer straight from the bottle was poured softly to minimize foam.

I tried a beer via Fizzics at a local expo. It was good, but not remarkably (~$200) good. But I had been drinking for hours, sooo....

To trick people into thinking they are spending less. More people probably decide to buy and then just click okay when the shipping comes up, than would have decided to buy for the higher price.

Amazon doesn't include shipping in any of their prices either.  I think it's pretty rare for online business to do that, and then they advertise "free shipping."

Yeah, I get that. Amazon is different because Amazon sells many different products and shipping can vary based on the size of the package. In this instance, you're ordering a canteen of not-enough soup, a handful of rolls, and some cookies. It's a set package, like Blue Apron is X amount of meals (or similar services) and it includes shipping in the advertised price because you can't obtain the product without shipping. It's not like there's a whole catalog of meals to choose from that they couldn't build in shippin. It's foolish to assume most people will just click through on shipping, especially when you're spending upwards of $50 on the product. And it's obvious that they were praying anyone dumb enough to spend that much on soup would have so much disposable income they wouldn't care about a shipping charge. I still find it to be one of many fatal flaws for this business model.

  18. One thing that struck me about Soup Lady was the fact that her base price didn't include shipping - for a product that HAS to be shipped. If the basic shipping fee is $15, I'd rather that be included in the face price; additional fees for expedited shipping could be added on at checkout. Why Say it's $69.99 when it's literally impossible to obtain said product without spending $84.99?

And, of course, all previously mentioned criticism regarding this product/business is spot-on.

Side note: I love Sasha's "universal Dick" joke, but my first thought was he could have claimed to be a "complete Dick" instead.  Either way, he was funny.  ;)

It was a cute joke, but I saw it as, "I don't know the difference/I haven't seen Bewitched so I'll make a joke." But that could just be because I'm a girl who'll insist that the only correct answer to that question is Dick York.

If the coins weren't supposed to add up to 167, why was the "magician" adding the numbers up on a calculator while the celebrities were throwing the ball.  If they weren't supposed to add up, his use of the calculator made no sense.

It's a misdirect. He adds up the value and asks if the coin value matches and - oh no! They don't match! The magician screwed up the trick!

.........until he reveals the states are on the backs of the quarters, which was the trick all along.

I really like that ad. The Dad isn't made to look incompetent, it's just that the final word is from Mom which is kinda true to life in many cases.  I think it's also because the little girl is so damn cute and she pulls it off.

    100% agree. She's matter-of-fact without being snotty.
