  1. I did this in one day (to prep for a Friends Thanksgiving trivia night), but I also included Season 2’s “The One With the List” (which is as close as Season 2 gets to a Thanksgiving ep - Monica tests themed Mockolate recipes). And yes, the trivia questions included that episode as well! 😅

Yeah between the dog, the lack of steak and the presence of eggs in his stomach I don’t think he did it and definitely couldn’t have convicted him and lean toward innocent. Also, the stories that Larry told others definitely makes him a viable suspect to me.

I also ended up feeding that Larry was the culprit - since they liked to play up how the vet may have been a ladies’ man, I wondered if he was having some kind of relationship with Larry’s wife, or that perhaps Larry thought as much since his wife was leaving/left him. Even if that is way off base, I definitely agree that the case presented to us did not have evidence for a murder conviction for Tom, in all his crazy stalker glory.

Odd anachronism. Age 13 Bow would not have known about Tiger Woods' "Caublinasian" thing because it hadn't happened yet. Was the show suggesting that Bow knew Tiger when they were kids?

This threw me at first, but I think the Tiger line was an extension of the narration, like a “What I wish I could have said” moment. It was just an awkward snap right back into reality.

Is that where I know Bryan Callen (Mellor) from?

I know him from Oz (the HBO prison show, not the one with Dorothy and Toto) - he was on in one of the early seasons. TOTALLY different character than Coach Mellor.

LeeAnn & Malarkey-thanks for the poster who mentioned that she threw him under the bus first for seasoning her dish.

I like both Malarkey and LeeAnn, and I didn’t see her throw him under the bus at all. She told the judges that another chef did her finishing - not calling any specific chef out - and also didn’t try to cover her own ass by saying she checked their work to make sure it was to her standard (an error in and of itself, as Tom commented). Brian took offense to this factual statement and doubled down trying to cover his own ass in anticipation, and instead it made him look like an ass in the process. (Of course, there may be cutting room floor footage that changes this narrative, but this is what was presented on screen.)

I also found the oil change joke funny. I don’t know that I’d say Nini is humorless, though - maybe she hears that joke often and it’s worn thin, maybe she was just tired, who knows.

After 17 seasons......Padma is still  - pack up your knives and go - fucking annoying.

*16 seasons. The first season was hosted by Katie Lee(Bot). Also annoying, but not Padma.

  7. There was SO MUCH in this episode, and I still wanted more - more of the cheftestants touring LA, more of the cheftestants cooking, more critiquing of each of their dishes. We often get Quickfire and Elimination dishes that are either glazed over or skipped completely - I cannot comprehend why Bravo will give Project Runway 90 minutes each week that’s almost all chitchat And sewing montages but Top Chef gets whittled down to an hour.

This episode turned out better than I expected, but I still didn't see the point of carbon copying original skits with no change whatsoever. While D. Messing's vitametavegiman "Lucy" was frighteningly flawless, what ultimately was the point? She's a good mimic? She's more than that.

They really gave her a thankless task, having her just recreate the bit. And IMO it fell incredibly flat - her reactions couldn’t be authentic because they had to mimic Lucy’s, and Lucy’s reactions are funny because they feel authentic.

Each ‘Lucy’ recreation was better than the last, though.

The Just The Cheese bars are excellent. I live in WI and have had them locally and have gotten boxes of them from Amazon. They are expensive. I didn’t think the owner was really interested in a deal. The company is doing really well as it is. For a low carb, satisfying snack, they are great.

They sure did sound delicious, but I’m hesitant to order a box of 10 from Amazon for a taste test - nearly $20 is a lot to drop on something I may not even like. I will, however, be on the lookout the next time I find myself near a 7-11.

  10. Now that beauty salons are on indefinite hiatus, I’ve had to wear my naturally curly (al right, kinky/frizzy) hair As God intended for the first time in years (I usually have a professional blow it straight). After seeing them on Shark Tank, I ordered a sample size 4-step kit (in lavender) from CurlMix - and I am BLOWN AWAY by the results. The process does require patience (but what part of curly hair doesn’t?), but it’s incredibly simple. My curls are defined, my hair is touchable (not overly crunchy or greasy from product), and as long as I sleep in a satin beanie, the curls stay for up to a week as promised. I literally have enough hair for three people and the sample kit will get me through three washes, but I ordered a full kit after the first one because I plan on using this often even after salons reopen their doors. It seems a little pricey at first glance, but when I factor in the variety of products I’d use normally and the trip to the salon, it’s actually a much better deal. I highly recommend CurlMix!

  11. I enjoyed the episode overall (as I usually do, plus any Daveed Diggs sighting is a win for me) but the whole “Paul embarrassed himself and learns a lesson he’ll forget next week” shtick is wearing thin. I need a  break. It’s so frequent that it sort of reminds me of the shell of a character Jessica became on Fresh Off the Boat, and the first season is way too soon for those kind of character assassinating shenanigans.

I'm still confused about how many children they have.  I thought maybe just the son, but then the guy (I have no idea what anyone's name is- Adam Pally) said something like "that's where my children live".  Children.  Plural.  So weird.

Also hated the mental load plotline.  At first I liked it because, as a mom, I am always the person who has to take care of the menial tasks but then it just went downhill from there.

In the pilot there were two (a boy and a girl) but in most of the subsequent episodes only the son was mentioned, so I figured the daughter was just the victim of post-pilot changes. But then they referenced multiple children again and I can’t understand why this family has a daughter that they don’t even acknowledge.

My DVR did me a service and skipped the last episode. I can’t bring myself to sit through any more, not even for Steven Weber.

I was waiting for the Disney World trip and it was nothing.  A fake parking lot.  Oh well, guess ABC/Disney didn't want to pay for location shooting.

I thought this was a funny twist on how most of the 90s ABC sitcoms had Disney episodes.

I enjoyed the finale but didn’t love it. Honestly, I’m glad the show is over because I haven’t been enjoying the last few years but felt bad abandoning it.

  14. I just couldn’t suspend disbelief about the birthdate/name thing. He never had to show his birth certificate to get his driver’s license? Or a job? Or anything??? I’m usually willing to give a lot of leeway for a good laugh, but this show didn’t even live up to the laugh.

I like the show but I won't be torn up if it gets cancelled. I felt more strongly about other recent shows like Trial & Error. I don't think it made a strong enough case for itself. It coasted on a lot of filler plotlines like it was in its 4th or 5th season and didn't have a lot of cliffhangers or big emotions for audiences to get invested in.

And I feel I’m the opposite - I wasn’t sure I was feeling it at the beginning of the season, but my affection grew with each episode. Now I really enjoy it and I’ll be disappointed if it’s canceled!

The bear has a long, long tail...

I've had this mish-mash of "songs" in my head for days because of the ads for this show, and it still makes me giggle.

I wasn't sure if they were going for TED Talks or pyramid scheme/scam when the "presentation" first started. I figured Al would embrace the idea and get her dad to understand it eventually so that part of the story wasn't a surprise. However, I think the chemistry between those two actors is super sweet and very familial.

I hope they show Chauncley's duck show at some point. The snippet we saw this episode, with Daniel Radcliffe beatboxing, made me laugh hysterically.

I'm so glad this show is back for a second season.

I assumed the hole presentation was modeled after Steve Jobs.

Count me in as another who is SO glad this show is back! I was skeptical about the medieval setting but they’ve won me over thus far. (And not just as an Alexandra who goes by Ali 😉)

  17. Loved the coach and loved Michelle & Ben (per usual). I continue to really like Wade; I feel like it’s pretty special how they’ve written a genuinely likeable-yet-realistic-yet-too-good-to-be-true leading man. Same goes for Natalie and Grace, who continue to be realistic teens without grating. As a GH viewer, it was fun to see Julie Marie Berman but YIKES was her character irritating - I couldn’t be as polite as Wade and would probably tell her exactly where she could shove her SHH!

  18. I really enjoyed this episode and often forgot it was live! Really enjoyed seeing more Michael Fishman and the sibling bonding between Mark and Harris (even if I’m mostly ‘meh’ on Harris). Lecy was a particular standout IMO.

  19. Stopped for a bite at Tiffani’s Sweet Cheeks Q while visiting Boston last month. The pulled pork and house-made BBQ sauce were delicious, and I was a big fan of the romaine wedge Texas Caesar salad. I also tried a scoop of the mac&cheese, which was good, but the Ritz topping (which seemed to be popular at other restaurants in the area, not just a Tiffani thing) was a little sweet for my taste. No complaints but I did find the biscuits underwhelming, possibly because she (and the staff) hyped them so much. The bill includes a 3% “kitchen appreciation fee” for BOH, which I liked as well.

Tahani trying to close the curtains so that Chidi couldn’t see outside was the perfect bit of physical comedy in the background of the scene.

This was hilarious, but THE moment of the episode for me was another background gag: Derek pours his champagne flute of Scrabble tiles directly into his face and follows it with a refreshed “Ahhh.” Next shot, the flute is full of tiles again.

I think this was the best episode since the pilot. I was about to give up on it but I’ll give it another couple weeks at least.

Agreed! I had been iffy on the last couple episodes but stuck it out, and this one made me laugh out loud a lot. I especially appreciated the “boogie-woogie-woogie”s during the Electric Slide. Rizwan Manji (Reverend Jax) is my favorite (and has been since Outsourced) but there isn’t a character I dislike - count me in as another Wayne convert!
