Was it an inn? I thought the whole time it was just their house. Unless I missed something at the beginning?

Re Just My Type: It’s repeating right now and the friend states the inn is her parent’s bed and breakfast and empty now because their season doesn’t start until Founder’s Day.

I’ve only been to one bed and breakfast, but breakfast was the only meal the owners offered.  Maybe Bethany and her friend chose to eat at restaurants to give the parents a break.

The TP crisis is still a bit mystifying.

So is the egg shortage! I haven’t seen eggs in weeks. Why is that? Each chicken lays about 1 egg a day. We still have the same number of chickens. Why no eggs in the stores?

  3. Well, I ran out of napkins and my grocery store didn’t have any. So I went into my linen closet and dug around until I found all my cloth napkins.  I haven’t used them in YEARS! Some were even yellowed with age. These are desperate times!😀

  4. This is a cute song I sing with my grandson while we wash hands. Hope this helps with those of you with small kids. It’s sung to the tune of “Frere Jacques”.

Top and bottom, top and bottom

    In-between, in-between

Wash them all around, wash them all around

Now they’re clean, now they’re clean.

  5. I’m just putting this out there, not passing judgment at all..... my husband was obese most of his adult life. Finally in his late 60s, he lost about 70 lbs. But you know what? His stomach still hung down and he only went down 1 or 2 pant sizes. The doctor said plastic surgery was the only way to get rid of the excess flesh. We could never afford it. The rest of his body looked a lot slimmer. Perhaps Janelle would be like that. No matter how much she loses, she’ll always have the hanging gut.

Question about bidets: aren’t they cold? Even if you hook it to hot water you’d have to run it a while, right?

Yes, the water can be cold. Where I live, Florida, it’s not a big problem because even in winter, our water stays on the warmer side.  But I know in the north, your water comes out of the faucet quite cold. So you may have to ask a plumber how to solve the problem.

  7. I grew up in the late 50s and 60s. Although my family was not poor, we lived like we were. My sweet miserly dad would never let my mom buy paper towels. What a waste when we had perfectly good terry cloth towels!  So my mom would put out a clean kitchen towel every day. Do people not realize you can wash towels? Why hoard when you can simply wash them and have as many clean towels as you want. People need to get a grip on life.

All the stores here in western Wisconsin are out of toilet paper.  My work is near target, and people were wheeling BOXES of toilet paper out to their cars.  Why toilet paper? I mean, we keep enough at home for a month’s supply.  These people will never buy toilet paper in their lives again...they have enough till the end of time.
I work at a holistic animal food store. The rush on dog food has begun. Usually just two big bags at a time though.  This I get, though. Can’t feed the dog toilet paper after all.
It is just weird. Hubby went to Walmart and ALDI this morning, they were pretty much bare.

I hope this isn’t TMI, but I have to recommend one of those add-on bidets for the commode. The brand I have is Fresh Spa and I got it at Home Depot for about $50. It cleans you so good that you only have to use toilet paper to blot yourself dry from the water. My TP consumption went down by more than half.

  9. Because of Coronavirus, I’ve decided not to attend my 50th class reunion this weekend. That makes me sad. But close quarters with people I don’t really know anymore (and don’t know where they’ve traveled) scares me.

Janelle told about how Meri made them go up and down stairs to get to Christine's over in the Leno house.  That had to be a problem with Janelle working and Christine home babysitting and preparing meals!

This is the only thing where I somewhat agree with Meri. I would hate a parade walking through my living room. What if she was dashing through her living room in her bra and panties and in walks Hunter on his way to play with Paedon?  They should have made a covered walkway outside for the kids to get to Christine’s house.

WHAT is up with the Hallmark Channel? I'm seeing the same 5 or 6 movies on the schedule,

I thought the same thing too. Then I went hunting for Hallmark Drama channel (my cable carrier has it hidden on a non-HD channel). I discovered several movies that are not too old (within the last 10 years). I never remember seeing ANY of them originally. Now I DVR several of them to view when nothing else in on that I want to see.

Maybe if the show was a little longer than 17 minutes I might not have felt g*****.

Ha! That is no exaggeration! I taped this episode and one of my favorite shows was to begin in 20 minutes so I decided to watch YS. I watched it, zipped through the commercials and was finished with the show before my 20 minutes were up! Must be easy for the actors to learn their few lines.

    - phentermine is pretty inexpensive and usually well tolerated from what I hear. it's more like Adderall in that it's a controlled medication and a simulant

This drug gave me horrible insomnia. I could only sleep about 2 hours a night and couldn’t function the next day.

Any thoughts on using handicapped stalls in public restrooms or dressing rooms in department stores? If they are the only ones available and I don't see any wheelchairs waiting, it seems fine to use those. The ones in the dressing rooms generally have bigger mirrors, so I do kind of like to use those.

I have to admit that I use the handicapped stall all the time even though I’m not in a wheelchair. I have a VERY bad hip and must use the bars to get off the commode. One time, at an interstate rest stop, I use a regular stall and had to put my hand on the toilet paper holder to get up, and the whole thing broke off the wall (I think others had done the same thing!) I don’t want that to ever happen again!

I used to think Ryan Paevy was nice to look at but wooden as an actor.  He has improved a lot.

I was coming here to say the same thing! In the last couple of movies he did, he was definitely less stiff. Maybe it was the script or maybe the leading lady, I’m not sure. He was also on Home and Family recently and was very personable.

  16. Re: Hearts of Winter. .. there was no closure on the broken bowl incident. There’s no way that bowl could have been glued back together and used. Jill’s character should have made a mosaic out of the pieces and displayed it in the kitchen. After all, it was something very important to the father and daughter.

What I liked about that episode (aside from the awesome dance and Pat's smackdown of Marie) is how many of the Barone family friends were in the audience!  I loved that they had them there even if they didn't have any lines.

I agree! Something that I like to do (when I have watched a program or movie many times over) is watch the expressions on the people in the background. It’s fun to see them engaged in the action even if they don’t have a speaking part. It makes the program more realistic, like it really happened.

Amazing Winter Romance was not amazing. I couldn't get past the male lead. He seemed pretty goofy and not in a good way. And not attractive either. I usually like Jessy but it was a terrible movie with zero plot. And could they stereotype the New Yorker much? Annoying.

How true! And did they not hire a make-up artist for the movie? Jessy looked very pale the whole time.

Why is HH no longer on every night at 10? Now, sometimes its on at 11, sometimes its not on at all. Or sometimes HHI is at 11, and HH is at 11:30. Weird.

I wrote this on the forum a few weeks ago, but something is going on with HH. My friends were accepted on the show, but later cancelled by the producers. They were told that they’re no longer making any HH. Maybe they’re changing production companies? Or the format?
