I bet Jenn K gets VOTY.

I recall Kathryn Dunn saying that she would return the following year to audition for DCC again after she was cut in Season 8. Does anyone know why she didn't? Was she on the Mavs then?
-
BTW, that choreo by Denise is SIIIIICK in the best way! Love it! Madeline is most definitely in her lane on these types of dances.
-
Season 9 had such a strong rookie class overall! I am glad to see how close they are!
-
No. If that were true, Cassie would have been point her last year in Season 7. Thank GOD she wasn't! She was still a HORRIBLE dancer!

I just re-watched the team announcement from last season and Kelli gave Kelsey the "We can make her a wow performer..."spiel just like she had previously done for Breelan and Ashley Pro in Season 9. All I can think is yes Kelsey is beautiful but so are Breelan and especially Ashley Pro and they got cut the following year. I have a bad feeling Kelsey is going to be cut this year. I hope I'm wrong.

What about Kyndall? I would be surprised if she came back again. She's beautiful, but I think her figure is actually too straight and she's too flat chested for the DCC uniform. Plus she obviously can't remember the dances. Then again, memory didn't stop Morgan from making it in Season 8.

Not sure if anyone has brought this up here yet, but what about pigeon-toed Emily? Has she given up or is there any word about her coming back to try again? I feel bad for her in a way, but if she's ballet trained like she said in Season 8, then I'm baffled as to how on earth she could still have been so turned in last season. I haven't really trained in dance in years, but I still have the automatic reflex of turning out and pointing my toes when I stretch or do any kind of fitness class. It becomes second nature after years of training I would think.

DCC Q&A: Mysteries of the DCC World
Teresa replied to bigskygirl's topic in Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team
Is there a reason all the NFL teams refer to their teams as cheerleaders instead of dancers? Like the NBA has the Dallas Mavericks DANCERS. Why couldn't they just call the DCC the Dallas Cowboys Dancers? Because that's what they are. They are not true cheerleaders as they don't cheer or stunt, except at that Susan G Komen halftime show. So many girls come in from competitive cheer backgrounds and can't dance (i.e. Cassie Trammel). The only good being a good tumbler does is maybe for show group, but even then, show group still has to be technically superior in dance (which Cassie was NOT!). -

I always thought Kelsi Reich was the absolute most beautiful and stunning DCC (though this is probably not an unpopular opinion). Plus she was an amazing dancer and performer. -

Another of unpopular opinion of mine is that I really enjoyed Kellie Pickler last season. She was sweet, adorable, and fun! And I do think she gave the girls a great pep talk. -

Oh wow! Thanks @ShellyB! That's super interesting to know! I figured it would be strange having a previous cheerleader become a rookie TCC all over again, even if she had been previously cut. Has it ever happened before that you know of where someone made it back after previously having been cut? -

I know she talked about the mean girls and trying out for the third year in her book, but when did she take it all back? I've not heard her address this at all since the book? -

Hey I love Jenn K! I certainly would not disagree with you on that! She was like the epitome of perfect DCC. -
So my husband, daughter and I are relocating to the Dallas area next month from Colorado due to my husband's job transfer. It is one place in Texas I have never actually been. I have been doing a lot of research though and trying to get familiar with the area. Now as I rewatch seasons, I pay extra attention to what cities in the area the girls say they are from. It seems a lot are from Plano, Coppell, Frisco, McKinney which I believe are somewhat upscale. I figured a lot these girls come from wealthy families. However, I've learned that Garland is not as nice and considered average to below average. I was surprised because I figured since that is where Cassie is from, it must be a wealthy place. It seemed obvious that her family is rich based on how lavish her wedding was. I've actually heard Garland is kind of dumpy. Is that really an area we should avoid when seeking a place to live for those of you who know the area?

Kelli is amazing! I know she tried several times before making it even into TC. I saw in Seasons 8 and 9 she tried out when I was rewatching them recently. How on earth did she get passed over so many times before?!
-
I don't know why but Madeline teaching a class was a pleasant surprise to me. I still think of her as young and not a leader even though she has transformed in so many ways since her Season 10 audition.

DCC Q&A: Mysteries of the DCC World

@ShellyB, if a previous cheerleader gets cut at auditions and then returns the following year and makes it back to Training Camp, would she be in camp as a rookie TCC again or would she be in as a veteran? I always wondered that but it seems that those who come back again always get cut before TC. -

My unpopular opinion is that I actually like Melissa Rycroft and I think she was perfect for the role of showmanship and performance mentor. After all, that was her strength and you don't need 5 years on the team to help girls with that. And I never thought she looked like a "hot mess" like so many on here liked to say. She was approachable and warm which is why I think the girls liked working with her. -

Shelly, what is your thought to why some of the girls have so much trouble with weight in training camp? It seems that with the amount of hours of rehearsals going on, the weight would just fall off and instead of going up. -
I must say that I am most impressed by Madeline as the transformation girl! How often does a girl go from super low on the totem pole in training camp and can barely handle it with constant criticism to becoming not just a DCC, but a showgroup member and seriously one of the BEST dancers on the team! It just blows my mind that this is even the same girl from last season.
