An interesting post-script: Magic and Isiah reconciled and TO ME both of them seemed to tacitly acknowledge that their relationship might have been, uh, more than friends. Here's the video. Would two straight guys really say stuff like "I apologize that we haven't been together"?
Yes, they would.

All I can say is that I feel for Shannon. Gina and Emily come across like they have an agenda, and it is exhausting to watch.

I finally got around to looking up the reaction to this season. I was kind of surprised at the dissatisfaction 😆 But, oh well. As for me, I enjoyed it. My only expectation was to erase that whacky last season of the original series from my memory and to give Dexter a proper send off.
It wasn't perfect but I enjoyed the ride. If they had gone in a different direction and opted for multiple seasons (with MCH), I am certain I would have watched. Without him, I have no interest in watching. So, I'll take it for what it was and close the Dexter book. Overall, it still ranks as one of my favorite series ever.

Sorry, still don't get what Shannon did that has Heather so infuriated. She told her "friends" that she thought Nicole sued Terry many years ago? So fukin' what!!!
It must be killing Shannon to have to grovel to Heather over and over again just to be treated like crap by Heather. I bet Tamra and Vicki are loving every minute of it.
Speaking of poor Shannon, is she really trying to say that she has no money? She has to pay for all of her daughter's college education? WTF? Blame your divorce lawyer for that, Shan. I know when she said last season that she got 1.4 million in the settlement that she got screwed. That sounds like a lot of dough but it's not when you lived in a 13 million $$ mansion and your husband supposedly is worth 10 if not 20 times that. She is used to a very lavish lifestyle and that is not what she ended up with.
Nicole looks like a smaller, slightly younger version of Emily. Sometimes when the camera pans across her face quickly I think it's Emily.
Noelle is unbearable, I put her in the same dramatic category as Heather. Her mother looks like a melted down version of Noelle. Scary face. Why didn't she have her own credit cards in her name? Next time get yourself a secret stash account, and your very own credit!!
Regarding Noelle mother's face, I thought Noelle mentioned her mother getting sick. Stroke?
And I kept trying to figure out who Nicole looks like. If I squint really hard I can sort of see Carmen Electra. But then I open my eyes fully and I see the clown makeup she wore in that restaurant scene. Yes, the one during which she tried to calm Noelle since people were looking. Because you being there with a camera crew isn't bringing any attention at all?
Noelle: My husband left. Then I was served with divorce papers. I have no idea where he is. The credit cards are shut off and I can't pay bills. He left his son. I don't know what to do. I'm emotionally broken.
Clowney: Ohhhhhhhh, he'll turn up. It will all work out fine.
Girl, please. I would have wanted to borrow a bottle of Windex and a towel from that restaurant and go to work on her face, including her mouth. She can't be gone soon enough.
And do not get me started on Heather. I wanted her back for real estate porn. And she didn't even bring that! Her pretentiousness and ponytail facelifts are not worth my investment of viewing time.

I started watching and was completely hooked. It was fun and I ended up watching all 10 episodes.

I really enjoyed the show today. After intense weeks at work, it was fun to just listen to them chatter on various topics. Maybe it's my current state of mind, but the food looked good (wouldn't be cooking any of it for Thanksgiving anyway), they all seemed cheerful, and I liked the Thanksgiving theme.
It just felt stress free. And after avoiding the show for so long due to whatsherface this just felt nice.
If you're celebrating tomorrow, Happy Thanksgiving!

Apparently I must have missed a whole season of the View as I have absolutely no recollection of this Jed person. But for tuning in today I might have gone my whole life without knowing who she is.
So close.

I missed the show this week and with the previews indicating the possibility of a major character death, I actually wanted to know what happened before deciding to watch. And now that I know, I don't plan to watch.
I'm just not up for seeing the death of a character that I really liked. I'm a casual watcher of this show and this doesn't do anything to increase my viewing. I hope the actor is moving on to something great. From Broadway to television, he's already proven that he's talented. Looking forward to seeing him in something else.

Meghan didn't need to say when she miscarried by saying it was a day after her "disaster" interview with Seth. I watched her for four years on the View to know she deliberately mentioned the timing. She knew what the headline would probably be. Meghan is an expert at framing things to make her appear to be the victim.
That's fine. I eventually bailed on watching her on The View as I don't care to watch people I do not like. And I believe you that she connected them by default by mentioning them together. So she did herself no favors.
My point was that when reading the article, she doesn't say that the stress of the interview had some part in her miscarriage. So if its based on the article. it's not a fair assumption. I'm the last person to defend her. But I do believe in holding people accountable to what they say and do. So, I provided the quote from the article in which she says she originally thought they were related. She had shared the headlines regarding the interview with her doctor. But her doctor provided some education and made the point that they are not related.

It also sets women in the workplace back a century. Pregnancy is not an illness nor a disability. Working hard, lifting heavy objects, changes in air pressure, emotional interviews, etc do no cause miscarriages. Look at the world around you…women continue to conceive and give birth in the most horrific circumstances.
This type of “dialogue “gives men a platform in which to make decisions regarding women in the workplace including politics.
To be fair, after reading the original article, she doesn't put any blame on Seth Myers or the stress of an interview. Since this is MM, of course, she states that she originally considered how her lifestyle and career choices might have resulted in the miscarriage. But then she says this:
"I used to argue on television for a living and I thought if maybe I had more of a serene environment or I was a calmer person or I was younger that this wouldn't have happened," she said, accoriding to ET. "I know from medical advice from my doctors that it's not true. But women blame themselves [when] things like that happen. I just don't want people to feel so alone. I felt really alone throughout the whole thing."
So, it wasn't about Seth. It was about her. And she wants you all to know that her being an a**hole is just fine and hasn't impacted her ability to have children.
Here's the article: https://www.insider.com/meghan-mccain-suffered-miscarriage-after-interview-with-seth-meyers-2021-10
The title of the article really does pull the reader in by implying a connection between the two events. Journalism!

I've really enjoyed a couple of absences this year. I have enjoyed Trump's absence from government and MM's absence from the View. And truly enjoying their absence means not reading their words, hearing their voices or seeing them on my television. #Eventually, they were no longer a topic of conversation. There's a sense of calm I hadn't felt in years.
And then came a bunch of MM stuff across my Twitter feed. I decided to read the Variety article and it was full of the same ol' crap. I'm going back to my place of calm.

I *loved* this episode. I enjoyed the monologue. The Prince sketch was hilarious. I laughed at Daddy Long Legs. And as someone who has watched all episodes of the Squid Game I laughed a lot at the song. It was cool to see Daniel Craig pop up. I enjoyed WU. This episode had a lot 'good' and I found that I actually enjoyed every sketch!
This is the only episode of the season I've watched. I skipped the KKW episode last week. But maybe I'll go back and watch the season opener.

It's a year and a half later and I just watched this series. I really liked it a lot! I don't really have much to add since it doesn't appear there are many others but I'll be tuning in to every episode of season 2.

The most popular people in any situation are not necessarily the best people. Cash is not a bad person or anything, but she took actions that then had consequences. It's clear that she hurt Charlie. How many times again and again did he say that once he's burned, he doesn't really feel the same about a person after that. It's totally understandable. He doesn't stay with people who hurt him or take things too far. Cash also made a little group that had plans to break up couples on the island. Cash also strung along Charlie while bringing up Cinco in almost every conversation. For some reason Cash is insanely popular on social media, so I think it's totally natural and understandable that not all of us think the shine suns out of her ass.
LOL I'm not one who thinks the sun shines out of her ass. My perspective isn't solely based on popularity but I do give more credence to people who are around someone 24/7 with first hand experience vs those who are on the outside looking in. I'm referring to the other islanders; not viewers, social media, message boards or anything else. If the other islanders come out and say that she was an ass, that would actually be interesting to hear. Now, I don't blame Charlie one bit. He did what was best for his heart and/or his game.
I don't expect everyone to feel that way that I do. These are opinions and perceptions, after all. We don't agree and there's nothing wrong with that.
Editing to add one more thought: The extreme reactions either way are odd to me. But, then again, maybe that is what contributes to her popularity and ratings. I've seen statements ranging from people vowing to not watch anymore now that she is gone to others saying her choice of dress for the last episode was a deliberate message to Charlie in order to make him feel bad about choosing a white woman over a black one. Because, you know, I guess people can read her thoughts. Good grief.

I really enjoyed Cash up to the end. As well, she was a popular (and sought out) friend to everyone at the Villa. I think she became too confident when America voted her and korey as one of the few couples to stay. She didn't expect that and I think it went to her head.
Yes, and I wish she'd handled the Cinco/Charlie thing differently. I saw some very early feedback about her being cocky and thought then that she wasn't. I thought it was confidence and self-assurance that, if shown by a male or a more traditional member of society, wouldn't have garnered a second thought. And that was pre-Charlie. I'd like her to keep her confidence but to consider others a bit more and be more self aware.
I also think what is key is what the other islanders thought of her. They are the ones who were around her 24 hours a day. We would get a concentrated recap of her behavior, whether it was shrieking or being cocky. But if they enjoyed their time with her and felt she was a true friend, I'll take that over any other perspectives.

Cash was my favorite from the first day but her behavior towards Charlie and Cinco disappointed me. The person I think needs to go ASAP is shannon. I find her moods to be unstable.
Totally understandable re: Cash.
As for the next to go, are you referring to Trina? There have been some worries about the impact of this experience on her mental health. Shannon was definitely low on my list of likeable people. But she has already exited.

Regarding Andre', in one of the Paramount+ episodes there is footage of one of the games. Andre and Trina are kissing, so I guess the argument can be made that they've actually interacted with each other :) I know that kissing is like saying hello on this show, but there ya go.

I didn’t watch Laid Bare, but saw this and others on the post confirmed it. Cash can eff off. There’s some debate if she was joking or serious, but it’s pretty straightforward that Charlie didn’t find it funny and was turned off, to which Cash did nothing to apologize. Nobody needs to be this arrogant or self absorbed.
Yes, that's bad. I took a look at the scene after reading this. They were talking and joking quietly in bed. She was laughing a lot and seemed to think they were joking back and forth. He seemed to be joking too, at first. But, she took it too far. And you could tell he was bothered. Now, what she said was actually true. But she's not as self aware as she thinks she is if she didn't consider how bothered someone would be by those comments, particularly someone she was interested in.

Charlie is getting a lot of hate on his instagram since the episode ended. He's getting pretty slammed on twitter too, but I don't think he's on there.
Cash seems to have a lot of support on Twitter. I don't follow instagram too much but folks are very vocal on twitter tonight. For a lot, she seemed to be the reason they tuned in. So, they're vowing to not watch the rest of the season. Charlie doesn't deserve any backlash, though. People are being stupid as usual. Even Cash even said that it was fine and he did what was right for him. Of course she tried to save face by then saying it was 'always Cinco'. Give Charlie a break.

I think it can be difficult to tell who is actually close and who 'the show' wants the audience to see as close. They're around each other 24/7 and we get a concentrated hour of competitions and some conversations (supporting particular storylines).
It's also why I take what we see with a grain of salt. Since they are together 24/7, it's interesting (or will be interesting) to see how they view each other versus how the public views each individual based on what we were shown.

Ah well. I guess I'm one of the few, perhaps only one, here who is disappointed to see Cash go. While she is a flawed human being like the rest of them, I actually enjoyed her presence on the show more than some other islanders. Judging by the app respondents, many others did as well.
Cash has a lot of life lessons to learn (which I would expect with a 20 something) but I didn't see her as someone who was intentionally mean or who intentionally mistreated others. Did she screw up? Sure. I just think she has the capacity to learn. And I enjoy that she's confident enough to express herself and be who she is, warts and all. When others were calling her arrogant and stating that she imagined that Cinco was into her, he really was.
All in all, I think she's a good human being who will continue to learn and become the person she envisions herself to be. She's not there yet which is a lesson. But she has great potential.

Winning Time: The Rise Of The Lakers Dynasty - General Discussion
in Winning Time: The Rise Of The Lakers Dynasty
In the 4-part Apple+ series, "They Call Me Magic", he explains how he revealed his son to Cookie. Right after they reunited in their off and on and off and on relationship, they were at his parents' house. He left the house and came back with a young boy. Cookie says that 'they all said, this is Andre`' That's when Magic told her that he had a son. He explained that it was one night. And he says that revealing it was "awkward and tough" but he wanted her to know that he is his son and would always be in his life.
During that same trip home to Michigan, he later proposed.
I enjoyed watching the Apple series and hearing the perspective of events from Magic, his parents, his brothers and sisters, Cookie, her college friends, Isiah, Kareem, business partners, friends such as Arsenio, Pat Riley, etc.
Note - I was born and raised in Michigan and was there through early adulthood. So, I had a lot of exposure to Magic in college and then Isiah leading the Detroit Pistons. I was a Bad Boys fan. So, it's been fun watching "Winning Time" though they have certainly taken some liberties.
