No matter how many times we see them kiss, I just keep seeing two sociologists studying each other's culture rather than two individuals trying to figure out whether or not they should be married.

I think their conversations are really interesting but ... for me, it's too heavy for this show. I'm there for every other topic, large and small for these couples, but discussions about Race and Culture in America are just not what I'm here to watch in my couple of hours of trashy tv for the week.

I hear ya. I think their conversations are pretty healthy. As a minority, I’d absolutely be covering such topics as they impact relationships and life. Hopefully, they show other aspects of their relationship that are less heavy.

Isn't  there a limit you can withdraw before the bank is required to notify the feds?

True. They also check for a bunch of withdrawals that are $9,999. There is also a limit of $10K for cash purchases. Anything at that amount or above requires reporting.

So Joey's uncle is Uncle Joe, who's moving kind of slow, at the Junction! (Boomers, what words come next?)

Charity's at Joey's house. Another nice family. Joey looks like his mother. She expresses concern about him getting his heart broken.

Now he's having a heart to heart with Uncle Joe. Uncle is asking the tough questions. He says he felt uneasy at the tennis court as though Joey was not being himself, but instead, the person he thinks Charity wants him to be. Joey can be a people pleaser, Uncle Joe tells us.

    Petticoat! Junction!

Okay... unpopular opinion here, but... I think Tamra is doing her job and bringing more interest to this franchise than it's had in the last couple of years.  Do I think she's over the top and too much at times?  Absolutely!  There's a lot of talk though about her and OC.  It will be interesting to see how things play out with Vickie coming back for some episodes.

That's probably true. As for me, there was a period of time when I didn't watch this show, specifically because I didn't want to see Tamra on my TV screen.  At this rate, I'll probably bail again.

June 30th.  I still have The Bear to watch but I got sucked into this show again.  It's still so much fun.

I don't love the change of eliminating a contestant each episode. I liked last season when they had a second chance to prove themselves.  This is especially the case with episode three when a strong baker was eliminated because the judges couldn't get their vote in on time for two of the contestants.

In episode two, hats off to those judges for finding all five of the cakes.  That's pretty impressive--especially the Peleton trainer judge who noticed nuances other judges might not have because of her familiarity with the equipment.

I was so disappointed by that elimination.  The contestant was so accomplished and impressive. And I was looking forward to seeing what they would have created if given more time.

well, i don't really understand what Shaq needs, i think maybe he just doesn't express it well, but i still find Kirsten to not be warm at all and i don't blame him for wanting out.  they just didn't match in their needs and personalities.

if anything further happens with clint and dom after this big kiss, i will think much less of him

That's exactly how I feel about Shaq and Kirsten. She's nice. But every time she talks, I picture a 'vacancy' sign on her forehead. If I muted my TV, every conversation looked like they were talking about the weather. There is just no 'there' there.

I binged all of part 2 yesterday and don’t recall which episode this happened in so I’m commenting here. The fakeout really pissed me off. We have Tully and Kate getting ready for Marah’s wedding and think she survived, and then discover Tully was just imagining the conversation they’d be having if she were still there.

Also wondering just how realistic Kate’s death was. It was wonderful that it was so peaceful and in a beautiful place. But really, with mets in the brain, it seems far more likely she’d have been bedbound because of multiple seizures (rather than the show portraying that she’d only had one). And also, no glasses yet she sees an eagle flying by in sharp detail?

I hated the fake out too. It just felt manipulative and who needs that.

As far as the TV version of death, I was okay with it and appreciated the serenity at the end.  I don't think she actually was clear eyed enough to see an eagle. Rather, I took it as a beautiful day filled with the sights and sounds of life. The water, birds, trees, people, fish, etc. all represented nature in its full glory while another life passes.

I liked this show a lot more than I thought I would when it premiered.

I was trying to figure out why it was Danny and Sophie buying the casket and why they were doing it in advance of Gary's death.  It's not like there won't be any coffins for sale when he finally goes.  And, its not like that particular coffin had some sort of sentimental value.  Most of the time, it's part of the package with the funeral home.  I guess the writers wanted to tie in the former stewardess to Jon's kids who wouldn't have been there otherwise, but it was an awkward storyline.

JRR wrote a lot of episodes for Psych, often along with that show's producer, so I guess it's become a tradition for him.  He seems to be a very talented writer.  Psych was a completely different show, and, yet, he wrote well for that, too.

First, I haven't watched the final two episodes. I went through a period of loss during a short period (father, mother, then only sibling) so I'm just not in the headspace to watch. However, I appreciated reading the comments particularly after (sort of) watching this for years. I wish I'd been reading here along because it's good to meet others who share my loathing of Theo.

Anyway, regarding the casket. When we brought my father home from the hospital to spend his last days at home, I went to the funeral home and made arrangements. It might seem weird. But I'm usually in some form of control and 'managing'  or at least contributing. And this was one of the very few situations in which I could control absolutely nothing. My brain needed to feel like I was doing something, helping, just anything. So, I made the arrangements, selected the casket, picked flowers, etc. I felt like I had done something.. and ultimately it helped.

  9. My goodness. I actually stopped watching this show for some time. Then, I decided to give it another shot. It's not any better. Tre's lack of accountability for her actions is inexcusable in a functioning adult.  It's not cute. And Melissa's participation in the back and forth doesn't help. I can't go down the road of Melissa vs Theresa because they both suck.

It's not entertaining.  I give up.

I don't mean this in a racist way, but I can't stop thinking that Zach chose Irina because she told him she was from Russia and everyone knows that Russian women are the most beautiful women in the world. I think he had a better connection with Bliss mentally but he couldn't resist seeing Irina probably imagining her as this blonde tall beautiful model type woman. I'm not saying Irina is ugly but boy was she not your typical Russian goddess.

I can honestly say this is the first time I've ever heard/read this sentiment. And I'd like to think he didn't choose her based on some stereotype.

Anyway, he sure regretted that choice. I think it's interesting that he called her vicious but chose her anyway.  He knew enough to see a red flag, but still drove into the ditch. Hopefully he's reflected on that choice.

'Hey Zack, tell us about your wife!'

'Well, she's vicious. Want to meet her?'

    'No, thanks'

I really hate that these celebrities are taking Ozempic...this is a drug intended for people with diabetes...their usage of this is going to create a shortage and then the people that really need it won't be able to get it. Margaret needs to get a trainer and and eat healthy instead of taking the easy way out by using a drug that was intended for people with diabetes.

Absolutely. I'm diabetic and was prescribed Ozempic. Imagine my shock when I went for my monthly refill, and it seemed to be out *everywhere*. My insurance company was able to hunt down a supply but, by then, I was overdue for multiple doses.

  12. I should have visited this forum a long time ago. The best thing about watching this episode was laughing at this thread later. 🤣

I can't even add a comment on the content of the show as you have all summed up my feelings so well. Thanks for the laughs!

Oh man I was ready to throw hands when Uncle George said Leanne was just a normal girl and all that was happening was in their heads and there were logical explainations for everything.

I was hoping we'd actually get some backstory about Leanne's past at this point of the season but looks like we're back to square one again.

I guess we truly have to wait till the final episode to get all the answers...

At this point I'm prepared to have no answers at all. 😕
