must have missed the ad for the show replacing TAR. Do you mean that TAR is being retired? Or is the show being advertised just a replacement until the next season.
The new show (I think it's called The Summit) is supposed to be in the timeslot after Survivor for the fall season, and TAR will return in the spring of 2025.

I think one team will be eliminated halfway through. They've done that in the past, but I think it was when the finale was 2 hours long.
So all season they've stretched 60 minute episodes to fit a 90 minute slot, but now they're compressing a typical 2 hour finale into 90 minutes? Geez.

Was it a requirement for the cabbies to NOT know where the final clue box was?

They're not making them alternate roadblocks this leg? What the hell?

There was a previous season where teams had to jump in cave/water thing like this. Maybe in Europe?
Are you thinking of Corsica?

The HIIs may be nothing special, but the immunity necklace is beautiful this season.

So it would be the third show, after TAR and Touch as Nails.
I've tried several times to watch Tough as Nails and I just can't get into it.

Phyllis may have had a slide projector. She's the photographer of the group. If nothing else, let's just give artistic license that it made a lovely scene with the family.
The family brought an envelope of photographs. I assumed Nurse Crane, who is a photographer, took shots of the photos on slide film to create the slides, and added in some contemporaneous ones of Miss Higgins that she (Miss H) provided.

As soon as Trixie spilled that alcohol on her dress, I started watching from behind my hands. Again, contrived much? Oh, we’re out of test strips. Really? Let’s let Trixie, who has been stumbling around like the walking dead, do something complicated with alcohol and fire. What could go wrong?
I assume she was wearing cotton or wool stockings. If those had been polyester, she would have been in the ICU (or historical equivalent), not mincing around in her pajamas complaining about the burn ointment.

This episode made me long for a good taxi driver.
This season has been beyond boring.

90 minutes of mostly watching teams drive around lost is not as entertaining as it has been in the past.

Poor Deirdre! The wounds on her back looked fresh, but they were supposed to be scars, right? She left her abusive husband before she knew she was pregnant again.
That made no sense to me. She appeared to have bruises on her face and a bit of a black eye, I kept expecting her husband to show up.
I don't understand the Matthew situation, either. I know he wasn't a businessman like his father, and the tenement buildings were an issue, but the family obviously had personal wealth. And he managed to lose everything, just like that? To the extent that they need to live on Trixie's salary?

I'm surprised they didn't give a food reward to the winning team.

Maybe I'm going crazy, but I distinctly remember an extremely brief clip from "This season on Top Chef" that looked like a fish boil. When they throw the accelerant on the fire, it's a sight that you don't forget.

It seems the compromise for those who like alliances and those who don't would be for the show to make it a rule that once you complete a task, you must leave the gameplay area immediately.
They shouldn't need a rule like that, because teams generally realize it's a RACE. It's in the name of the show and everything.....

I am so bored with this season. There is not one team that I am invested in.
I was looking forward to this season because it was primarily in South America, which they haven't visited a lot lately. But unfortunately, there is a sameness to these countries, even though they're spread out across a continent and have different cultures. If you know one language - Spanish - you're set, and that advantage carries over leg after leg after leg. It also seems that you're less likely to find people who understand English.

They can absolutely pull things back after the cashier has scanned them. We've seen this numerous times when a team has gone over budget, they start removing things until they're under. The cashier just scans it again with a reversal, it's not hard.
I'm really disappointed that Manny and Kevin did such simple presentations of beef and then messed them up as well.

Isn't there a rule they have to have their papers on them at all times? Probably easier keeping everything together.
Don't they still have the Amazing Fanny Pack for that?
