  1. My sympathies to Sunny on the death of her grandmother. I really thought she was going to complete this leg and then leave. Colombia is beautiful.
  2. Who the heck did the casting for this season? I would prefer some more teams that are actually capable of competing in this race.
  3. And the Amazing Yellow Line makes a dual appearance! First with the flight and then with the water taxis. The statement that they have to choose a water taxi and cannot switch makes me think something is going to happen. That's a lot of damn food for one meal. It looks like the Colombian version of a full English breakfast.
  4. What I don't understand about the mold apartment is what exactly those workmen did to suddenly fix it. I thought the family would be getting a new apartment, not that someone was going to nail paneling over the moldy walls and that would make everything OK.
  5. I haven't had a DVD player (or a computer that could play them) in years.
  6. I don't know why they're deleting so many scenes. It's PBS, if they need an extra few minutes they can bump the schedule. Personally, I could certainly do without the second reminder of how wonderful it is to travel on a Viking longship.
  7. I'm with you. I tuned in for an interesting look at fashion. I did not anticipate a WWII drama involving Nazi concentration camps, torture and survivor's guilt. I've begun to wonder if this is more than a single season show because we're 8 episodes into a 10 episode show and we're just now getting to what the show was advertised to be about. Fun fact: I've been reading Dior's autobiography and scene about the model applicants coming from the closed brothel houses is true.
  8. This is probably a safe bet most of the time.
  9. Nobody is "right on each other's tails" in this group.
  10. This maybe was not the city for a mega-leg.
  11. "I don't know who Elizabeth Taylor is". I'm officially too old.
  12. Amber (of the nurses) is doing a kick-ass job on that face painting.
  13. But don't there have to be at least 12 strings in the wrong order? In case everyone picked that detour?
  14. I love that the road block involves both team members.
  15. Are there 2 Iguana Bridges? I don't have close-captioning on, so I'm not sure what they're saying.
  16. Well, something odd has to happen, we have 45 minutes left. Not feeling it this leg. Interesting stuff, but too easy.
  17. I came here to post this! I believe it was Miss Ali, who used to do hysterical recaps of TAR.
  18. I had to go down a rabbit hole on Wikipedia but I finally found it - at least the one I remember: in Season 10, Bilal and Sa'eed were eliminated in China in the middle of the first leg. I don't know if the term mega-leg was in use at that time.
  19. I don't know where OP got her info, but that's clearly a description of things that will happen this season, just not all in this leg.
  20. I know, they had 30 extra minutes (less commercials) to fill and they couldn't have given us more of that 357,691 point turn? We only got a quick glimpse of it, but Phil mentioned that there was a lot of art along the beach. I would have liked to see a task involving that.
  21. Travel agents seem to be more common in Asian countries, that may be due to visa/passport requirements, but I don't think you'll find many of them elsewhere. I didn't mind the charter flights per se, what bothered me was that they acted to level the playing field time after time after time. If a team is hours behind, there should be a penalty for that, not "Don't worry, we held the plane for you!"
  22. I don't know the truth of it, but the implication of both Capote and Infamous is that researching and writing In Cold Blood - in particular his relationship with Perry Smith - left him a broken man.
