  1. I was spoiled so I was quite excited to see how they were going to write the death scene. The fight between Diggle and Oliver really struck a nerve with Oliver, especially the evolution bit (OOOH BURN!) I am an Olicity fan and I have to admit, the bed scene with Team Arrow made me cry , because I could feel the love and respect they had for her (even though I didn't). On hindsight, they didn't have to include the Oliver/Laurel scene. As I was watching it, I swear I could feel the tug of war between MG and Keto, in terms of how they wanted to write that scene. So there I am, crying, praying that Lance will get to see his daughter, maybe racing against time (really in the moment) and then the whole "I'm happy for you and Felicity...I hope you get back to her" and the "You are the love of my life"... "why are you saying this why now?" crap happened. And she was alive (at that point) and then she convulsed and died. Seriously, a tug of war -"She should die here, surrounded by her friends! But wait, we have to make it more dramatic, she deserves a moment to confess to Oliver her true feelings! After EIGHT YEARS!" Yikes. That took me out of the moment completely. And that pissed me off, because I wanted to be upset that Lance couldn't see his daughter for the last time, not be upset at how bad the writing was.
  2. Daryl's been hilarious to watch - first the unintentional (intentional?) comedy routine with him chasing Jesus around in the last episode (I half-expected circus music to be played while he was trying to catch Jesus) and now, with the "and one of them cows!" line. Which of course, means, he's the next to die. Because he really doesn't have much storyline, does he? If they need to lose some people, I'm happy for Rosita and Sasha to go first. That way, Abe doesn't need to choose. The "love triangle" was icky.
  3. I did tear up a bit when Felicity gave her "Marriage is about inclusion" speech. And when Oliver said his stuff in the video, even if it was quite predictable and for plot. The rest was quite meh. Although, and I'm not sure if this was already answered, but did I miss something - If Oliver didn't know where they were going, how did he pass the tape to Samantha for safekeeping, for when William turns 18? Or is this one of those "I'll keep it in a vault" thingys? Lazy writing. And for the flashbacks, with all the stuff happening, I'm expecting Dharma Initiative and polar bears to show up soon.
  4. Rewatching the latest episode has me thinking that something is up with Alex Davis. He can't just be "the political strategist/TQ's love interest". Plus he was probably the one who knows where the car with OQ and FS is going. He didn't look thrilled w OQ's idea to clean up the Bay too. Keeping my eye on him when the hiatus ends.
  5. When I compare previous seasons to the current season of Arrow so far, a few things struck me: - season 1 was supposed to be shaky and season 2 was supposed to be stronger than season 1. Season 3 was supposed to build on the strengths of the past 2 seasons. Not happening so far. - Granted the theme for Season 3 is identity, not only of Oliver but the rest in his life, but not written well, show. Use tropes wisely and in small amounts. - the importance of a good showrunner who guides the show so that the stories make sense I loved the Diggle/Oliver scenes, but everyone suddenly telling everyone their secrets was too jarring. And too many things crammed into 1 episode, even for a CW show. I will never get tired of seeing Laurel getting her ass kicked. Thea needs to kick her ass next! -
  6. This. I watched Arrow because of Oliver, his journey, the action, the people he cares about and the lengths he would go to protect them. His relationships with Diggle, Felicity, Roy, Moira, Thea were what kept me watching. If episodes 311-313 are supposed to be more on LL stepping up as Black Canary, I'm all for it, if in the next 2 episodes, they show her getting her ass kicked all the time (no more jumping out of windows please!), stepping back and training under Oliver when he's back (he acknowledges that he needs help and there's no stopping Laurel), and confessing to her father. Maybe then, her journey gets more believable, or rather, easier to swallow. But she needs to get her ass kicked regularly. Sinceriously. The girl can't even swing a staff properly.
