  1. Yeah, I'm done with Ink Master. Matt had the best back tattoo, but he screwed himself on the pre-game tattoo. I agree with Big Ceeze when he stated that Kruseman should've been booted due to not attempting the challenge a couple of times. Overall, this season was amateur hour. This season had the worst set of artists of any season.
  2. Ink Master is little more than a soap opera geared towards tattoo lovers. One only needs to count the number of difficult canvases that appear on the show. After several seasons of the show, one would think that the producers would be better at screening canvases to weed out those that would withdraw or act like a total clown. Just about every week there is some form of drama with canvases. Especially with Ink Master Redemption and Dave's pot stirring "I have an artist willing to fix that crappy tattoo for you" sphiel, it's difficult to take the Ink Master brand seriously from an artistic point of view. LOL, I wonder if Chris handwashed his overalls every evening. I have trouble taking someone that dresses like Chucky from the Child's Play movies seriously.
  3. This was a lame episode that showed why Best Ink is superior to Ink Master in every meaningful way (anything involving art). Since this show is more about schoolyard vendettas than artwork, it was a foregone conclusion weeks ago that Chris and Matt would go to the finale. When Kruseman was announced the winner of the second challenge, I knew Craig was done. If they wanted to build some suspsense, they should've announced Chris as the winner. I didn't really care who went on between Craig and Kruseman because both of them should've been eliminated. Kruseman had an awful report card throughout the season and flat out refused to do challenges, whereas Craig would take creative licensing with challenges to cover up his weaknesses. EDIT: I have to give Craig props for taking being eliminated with a good attitude. Most contestants whine when they're booted, even if completely justified.
  4. I personally hope either Craig or Kruseman gets booted next week. Kruseman should've been gone that week the girl wanted to incorporate her hair in the tattoo and he flat out refused to do the challenge. Craig didn't follow the rules last week for both the Flash Challenge and Elimination Tattoo (though last week's Elim Tat was a stupid challenge). They need to boot people automatically for not attempting the challenges.
  5. I could accept giving Tyler the win on the Flash Challenge since his was good, but I thought Duffy deserved the win. As far as the Elimination Tattoo, they should've done a double elimination and Craig should've been booted as well. Excusing the fact that the challenge was more about replication than consistency, Craig didn't do that well at all. At least Katie didn't take artistic license with her swamp monster tattoo. Craig took artistic license on his tattoo. They should've at least called Craig down and called him out for not obeying instructions on both the Elimination Tattoo and Flash Challenge. I guess he misinterpreted the rules like Bill Belichick did during Spygate. The judges need to start eliminating people that don't follow directions. Kruseman should've been gone that week he had the girl that wanted to use her hair since he basically gave up on the challenge and Kruseman has been failing his way through the show ever since.
  6. I already knew who the final 3 would be for a while, so meh. As far as the elimination tattoos, Cleen obviously had the best one, but Eric's wasn't bad. Jason's geisha was jacked and I couldn't tell what Mark's was supposed to be. I would've been fine with a 2-person finale as well. In the final tattoo, Jason's bird was the worst. The only thing that saved Jason was Mark's bad report card since he was on the bottom frequently, with his only wins being the face off with Eric and a flash challenge. The flash challenge with the head phones was more of a win by Cleen since he took the reins in that one. Part of me still wonders if they came up with the whole marijuana angle to make for a more interesting finale. I'm pretty sure all of the contestants know what weed smells like, so it seems a little suspicious that it took so long for someone to notice that someone was smoking. I wouldn't be surprised if the producers made a backstage deal with Josh to get him to leave the competition. Josh was clearly the best artist this season and was the only one with enough charisma to be able to negotiate with his clients, so the producers wanted to make the finale a contest, when Josh would've won for sure had he remained.
  7. I wonder why they've been hesitant to do double eliminations this season. They had 2 or 3 consecutive episodes with double eliminations last year and they needed to do one this week for sure. Even though Joshua did deserve to go for breaking the rules, Chris should've been given the boot for that horrible tattoo and the fact that he is consistently on the bottom. I'm tired of his "I know I can do better" speeches. Competition shows like this need a 3-Strikes Rule, which holds that a competitor gets the boot automatically on their 3rd time in the bottom. With Joshua gone, I honestly hope Cleen wins, if for no other reason than he's the only one there that doesn't whine and complain over being given a difficult client. I can't stand seeing adults whining like a child that didn't get a new toy.
  8. I'm pretty sure that everyone in the competition knows what weed smells like, so I find it kind of weird that no one mentioned it until now. The contestants live in the same house and are all basically joined at the hip in the shop, so no one could smoke weed and hide it. They just needed something to keep the drama train going in Emily's absence. If there is a clause in the contract banning contestants from smoking weed, then the judges did the right thing by giving him the boot. What boggles my mind is the fact that they keep Jager in the Lounge. Clearly they're not worried about the contestants being under the influence while working. As far as the tattoos, meh all-around, which is par for the course this season. They praised Josh's tattoo in the FC even though the woman in the tattoo had a deformed arm hanging in the air. Chris and Don both need to go because their work as a whole is utter dog crap. I'm going to be keeping my fingers crossed for a new season of Best Ink after this crap fest.
  9. If any episode needed a double elimination, this was the one. I agree with Emily going home, especially since it looked like her Jesus was giving two thumbs up. If I had my way, Cris would've went home as well because that was a very poor representation of Jesus. Jesus is known for the the Crown of Thorns and for being emaciated from malnourishment. Why did Cris give his Jesus tattoo a normal crown and make him ripped? Mark's tattoo looked like a cartoony Jesus head. I agree with Cleen that Tommy's tattoo was way too dark, although Cleen's tattoo was bad as a whole. In any case, I think I'm done with this show once and for all. All of the complaining and scripted arguments are just tiring to watch. I think I'll just watch Best Ink if that show comes back for a 4th season.
  10. I wonder why the judges were so pleased with the work in the Flash Challenge. Although that blue rose that Aaron did was the only horrible tattoo, nothing was superb. The most cringe worthy part of the show was how everyone was ganging up on Joshua for having a persuasive enough demeanor to talk his clients into moving their tattoo. Kyle from season 3 was the only person to ever give Josh credit where it's due for being able to negotiate with his clients. Emily only joined in picking on Josh to defelect attention from herself since Josh actually plays the game with guile, unlike her. With respect to the Elimination Tattoo, I agree with the judges decision on the bottom tattoos, but I think Jason should've been sent packing. Even though Julia's tattoo is something they should put on Tattoo Nightmares California (TN: Miami sucks), at least you could tell what her tattoo was. Jason's tattoo was just messy and unreadable. I honestly suspect that the Chris and Oliver were out to get Julia due to a combination of last week's events, especially her standing up to Oliver. Both Chris and Oliver seem to get a thrill from the power they have as judges and don't take kindly to contestants standing up to them. It didn't help that Julia once again reverted to her baby voice and bandied her children to gain sympathy while trying to throw Aaron under the bus. I'm glad to see Julia leave because I did get tired of her sympathy bids, but Jason should've went home from a technical perspective.
  11. I'll give Julia credit where it's due for standing up to Oliver. Oliver and Chris both think they can talk to the contestants in any manner they want due to their status as judges. I'm just glad that Julia didn't fly off the handle like Kyle did last season after Jay told Kyle that Chris was talking trash about him and called him out during the elimination the episode beore Kyle was disqualified.
  12. As much as I liked Angel, I do think the judges made the correct decision from a technical standpoint, but they should've done a double elimination and given Julia the royal boot. Even though her tattoo was decent, she basically copped out by tattooing herself since she dodged the canvas jury. Julia disrespected her client after he tried to talk to her in a completely non-confrontational tone. An "Ink Master" would have to be professional and being that disrespectful to a client that was trying to start over and play ball is both unprofessional and childish. That was probably the most unprofessional display I've ever seen from a contestant on this show, and I watched every season of Ink Master in their entirety. Don earned massive kudos from me for crashing her little pity party by telling her he has the same concerns with raising children and that he even has more children than she does. Note that she told him he wasn't being human and was just being a dick when she realized they were both in the same boat and that she just acted childish and unprofessional. The only thing that would've made that conversation better would've been if Don or Josh told her that she was full of crap when she was talking about a lapse in judgment, because she wasn't as remorseful as she tried to claim in the lounge when she tried to lie to the judges and throw her canvas under the bus. Julia was only sorry that she got caught.
