  1. Hoda lacks the gravitas to do serious news. For her life is one big open mouthed selfie to upload to her Insta.
  2. There has been a lot of speculation over on their FB page that Dylan is preggers, thus the darker hair. She’s also been sporting a baby bump.
  3. Megyn is gone! That horse is dead, no reason to keep beating it ?. What do we want to see in the 3rd hour? Light pop culture, more fashion and cooking segments? Serious panel discussion about hard news? A mix? Eventually, they’re going to have to put in a permanent host or two. Who do you want to see heading it up? Stephanie Gosk? Jenna? Al? Any others? Speaking of Savannah and her inability to cook! I get her! My education and career choices are similar to hers, although I’m 10 years older. My mom went back to school while I was in high school and worked thereafter. I was never a snotty “I’m too good for this career woman.” The thing is while you are getting that education there isn’t much opportunity to hone your cooking skills. While in undergrad you’re most likely living in a dorm or a crowded apartment. Law school is a 15+ hour day, you grab whatever is quick to eat. And once you’re done with that you’re looking at 60+ hour work weeks to pay off your student debt. Even now that I’m retired, I have to get out a basic cookbook to remind myself how to boil eggs, I find it much simpler to get them already boiled from the grocery. Cooking is just a skill I never learned. However, I don’t feel uppity about it, in fact I’m humbled by the many women in my family who mastered the skill. Otherwise, my husband and I would starve during holidays! ?
  4. Can you imagine if Hoda had interviewed Omarosa. It would’ve been all giggles with a hug at the end.
  5. And again if you never really learned to cook like I didn’t, it’s kinda fun to watch Savannah struggle through cooking segments. I actually learn more when she’s doing it, than when an experienced cook like Al is doing his thing. Over the past several generations women have been afforded with so many choices when it comes to family and careers. My mom is a great cook, however, when I was at an adolescent/teen she went to college and became career oriented. Except for Thanksgiving and Christmas, she didn’t cook and still doesn’t to this day although she’s retired and in her late 70s. I chose a career over having a family. My husband and I are now retired. We’re pretty simple when it comes to the kitchen. I think it’s wonderful when Today mixes up their cooking segments from simple to difficult. It shows that they’re aware that their viewers cross many segments.
  6. I was in high school in the mid-late 70s, most of my courses were college prep courses. During that same period my mom was in college and my dad traveled a lot. Microwave ovens were becoming common, so it was prepackaged for us. I don’t watch Megan’s show. However, I think whenever Savannah does a cooking segment it’s mostly for fun. Not all viewers are homemakers, and some of us can relate to lacking certain skills. ETA: I’m not proud that I have to get out a cookbook when I want to boil eggs, or my house is a perpetual mess. I celebrate the fact that women can choose their paths, and excel whether it’s in the home or the workplace....or both!
  7. I get it and really relate to Savannah. Her education, career, and late in life marriage reflects many of my own choices. Sorry, but when some women go for the big leagues, sometimes things like cooking and house cleaning go by the wayside. I’m not knocking women who have mastered cooking and such, just saying that some of us had our attention diverted to other things.
  8. Savannah majored in journalism and was a White House correspondent and legal analyst before becoming a cohost.
  9. So I guess MK has established herself as all things to do with sexual harassment/assault. I’m not downplaying the issues at all. However, it seems that she’s just a one-trick pony. As it stands I now turn off Today at 9:00, and I don’t come back for Hoda and KLG. With Hoda being on during the early segments (overkill), and not being a huge KLG fan, I’ve found myself moving onto other things. They need to bring back more Dylan, Jenna and Sheneil, and find a good male cohost for balance.
  10. The Megyn Kelly hour was atrocious to say the least. Firstly, she has as much personality as a piece of cardboard. Secondly, the whole studio audience thing just doesn't fit with Today. Thirdly, her being by herself also doesn't fit. Fourthly, much of what she offered was depressing. We get enough depressing stuff in the first hour when they do hard news....not their fault it can't be helped. A lot of people here and elsewhere have wondered if Savannah was on the chopping block because of the hiring of Megyn. I don't think Savannah has to worry....of course I'm a little biased. I also went to law school, and can hold my own with federal judges and the like. OTOH, I'm dippy, I don't have the common sense to come in from the rain, and I have to get out a cookbook whenever I want to boil an egg.
  11. Yeah, it seems a little weird. 7:00 is hard news. 8:00 they get lighter. Not sure what they'll do with Megan at 9:00, she doesn't seem the type to comment on pop culture and doing cooking segments. Plus she comes off as a real diva, and I have no doubt she'll be coming in being paid a lot more than others who have been there longer. I like most of the women.....Savannah, Dylan, Hoda, Jenna, and wish we could get Natalie back. I just don't see Megan fitting in.
  12. Al sometimes grates on my nerves. As he ages, he doesn't seem eager to go out on location to big weather stories. So relegate him to human interest stories, and let eye candy come in and be the weather guy. However, I don't know where that would leave Dylan, who I adore.
  13. I'm beginning to think they have the weatherman from Chicago on a lot because he's eye candy. He looks like Channing Tatum. I wouldn't be surprised if they move him to the mothership soon.
  14. Michael Buble is interested, http://www.morningnewsusa.com/kelly-ripa-live-kelly-co-host-michael-buble-replace-michael-strahan-23117939.html. I would go with it, he would class up the show a bit.
  15. Their FB page is blowing up with demands to fire Billy Bush, he obviously wasn't popular before today, now he's dead in the water. Two birds may have been killed with one stone, Trump and Billy. However, although I'm not a fan of the Bush family's politics, I'll admit Jenna grew on me for the more fun segments and sitting next to Hoda on Fridays. Hopefully, this won't blow back on her.
