Some of my lilies are blooming. One of the Star Gazers I had was toppled over at the base this morning, another chipmunk victim.

I have since given Joe permission for open warfare on them now.

Sorry, Elvin. You and yours were warned...

Beautiful Stargazers! Mine didn't bloom last year or this year. I got leaves but no flowers. They're several years old, and maybe they just gave up eventually because the hot Georgia summers damaged the bulbs. I never cut the blooms to bring indoors anyway because the strong scent makes me sneeze. Same thing with gardenias. Wonderful fragrance but just too strong, so I leave the blooms on the bushes.. That's my allergy problem. I always have to rush through the cosmetics section in department stores because all the perfume they spray in the air makes my nose stop up and starts me sneezing. I run away like a deer whenever a sales clerk approaches me with a perfume sample.

I used to have loads of chipmunks in my yard, but I seldom see one now. Between the neighborhood cats, the snakes and the hawks, the little fellows have disappeared. They sure can dig. Once they dug so much under my neighbor's driveway that a small piece of concrete collapsed.

Yes.  There was a good singer a few seasons ago I think, who dressed up in character also.  I'm thinking they got him to ditch the costume toward the end.

Doing this to animals finds my last nerve fsr.

About the photo of the two dogs with painted designs all over their fur:

I hate it when people put makeup on animals too. However, my first impression of that picture was that the designs on the dogs were just Photoshop trickery.

Regarding healthcare and the internet, the healthcare and insurance industries have pretty much forced our hand on this haven't they?  We are in charge of our own health, and gone are the days that we can just show up at the Doc's office, state our case, and leave with a diagnosis or an Rx.  Most often, you're given paperwork to see the next MD in line, and the next and on and on.  We had damn well be at least a little informed, at least have the ability to ask educated question about what we're being told or being given.  The MDs are clearing houses now, with the task of seeing as many patients as they possibly can in a given day.  No, we can't expect Dr. Google to know everything, or to properly diagnose, but it can help us to know what to ask.  It's a new world folks.

I agree!  I can't believe how little I'm told by my doctors and med technicians about my illness, diagnostic test procedures and drugs. Yes, I do feel that I've been forced to resort to Dr. Google. Otherwise I would just be groping in the dark.

Cricket, the new puppy is darling!

Hmm, has Caitlyn made any statements today? She's awfully quiet for someone who is supposed to represent the transgender community.

Caitlyn just made a statement on twitter, expressing her support of transgender military people.

  5. Cricket, I've taken Cipro too, several times. No problems except that it made me feel weak after a few days, and caused some bathroom problems. Overall I was pleased with Cipro because it has been very effective against infections. But of course we have to be aware of possible long term side effects.

They're not natural, and implants come in teardrop shape too. Didn't Kanye mention that he prefers that "natural" teardrop shape?

    I hate remembering that, lol.

Does she have any natural parts left? I'm thinking maybe her ears, toes, fingers and elbows are the originals. Everything else has been altered.

  7. I'm also hoping things will turn out different for North. Maybe her little brother Saint will help keep her grounded when they are older, if they become close. Kim won't be pimping him out, because he's a boy. She can't make him look sexy or dress him in replicas of her outfits.

Want to see how Dimitri James and his husband live in Palm Springs?

    Love the cat and mirror.

    Obviously Skinn does very well.

    Their wedding:

Interesting house, but not my taste. I think the blue and yellow color scheme is too bright and harsh. I don't like the furniture. Oh well, Dimitri and Pjetur probably wouldn't like my house either. To each his own.

    Love the cute fuzzy kitty.

Just a couple of seasons ago, Kim and Kris were talking about the early years when they sold Kimberly Kupcakes to try and make her famous and  Kris quipped " Well it isn't like you could sing or dance", that sums up Kris's outlook on Kims talent.  Probably a more realistic view than Kim's own opinion.

I dont think the business success is satisfying to Kim.  She wanted red  carpet fame.

She would probably love it if someone made a biographical movie about her life and her rise to fame, like the Joy Mangano movie. (JM got rich and famous making household gadgets to sell on TV.)  Sadly, somebody probably WILL make such a movie.

  10. Cricket, I'm sorry to hear Joe has gone through so much pain. This is so hard for both of you. I hear you about the money issue. Try not to worry about money right now; just concentrate on Joe getting better and you being able to make it through each day. I know this sounds like pie-in-the-sky advice, because paying for such extensive medical treatment is a major problem. But both of you need all the strength you can get, and worrying about the money part will drain your strength.

So glad you got the adorable puppy home! I think he'll be a comfort to you and Joe.

  11. Tokyo Toni just unleashed her fury on Tyga.  Her Instagram post is barely readable, just as effed up as the diatribe she wrote to Rob. This article has a screenshot of the post. Some of it is funny, like when she calls Tyga a "hollow chain wearing fuck." At least she knows something about jewelry.

I agree, but I can see her using his parole hearing and release as part of a story line for the show.  She's not about to pass on any opportunity to make a buck, not even a dead friend.

I'll bet Kris makes some public statement about OJ being granted parole. She'll get one of her pap buddies to ask her how she feels about it.

I'm going to put this here because the guy mentions Rob in his interview.

I'm wondering if this is real or Chyna's attempt to get more publicity http://www.tmz.com/2017/07/15/blac-chyna-ferrari-banned-nightclub/ Obviously, I have no idea what Ferrarri has been texting or what he says in phone calls, but I just listened to the interview that supposedly scared her, & there is nothing in it that sounds even remotely threatening or scary to me. Unless she's counting the part where he says that Rob is a good guy.

Maybe she's trying to portray herself as a victim of both Rob and Ferrari.

  14. Cricket, that was quite an ordeal for Joe, and for you and the family. I understand how frustrating it must be to know that the earlier tests didn't show the true size of the tumor, and that the first doctors didn't seem to take it seriously enough. Hopefully the surgeon got it all and it won't come back.

Astounding that the hospital does so many surgeries every day! On the positive side, that means they are very experienced and efficient.

I am so glad that Joe made it through this grueling surgery. He must be a very strong guy. Prayers and hugs for Joe and for you!

  15. Just wanted to rant about the clothes news reporters and anchors wear. Somebody on the Shopping Channel thread commented that the women on TV always have to be so thin, but the men can be chubby and hide their flab in suits. I didn't want to go off topic over there.

I don't like the trend of women reporters on local and cable news shows, women on the Weather Channel, etc., wearing sleeveless dresses that are also too tight, too low cut and too short. It's like they all feel obligated (or are told by their bosses) to look sexy, while the males keep wearing conservative coats and ties. I wish the women would cover up more, like wear sleeves or even blazer jackets. It would look more professional than all the bare arms, bare armpits and bare knees.

However, it occurred to me that this double standard does a disservice the men. It's summer, hot all over the country. The men must be suffocating in their jackets and ties, especially when they have to do outdoor reporting. The women are comfy in their short sleeveless dresses. Why can't the bosses let the men take off the jackets and ties, and do their reporting in shirtsleeves when it's this hot?

The Weather Channel men occasionally go on air in shirtsleeves, but that's the only network where I see the men dressing casual inside the studio. I think I'd get the vapors from shock if I turned on cable news one day and saw Anderson Cooper without a tie.
