  1. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! One very special thing I'm very thankful for is all the great friends I've found here, so I agree with Diane and 7kstar. I hope Omegamom checks in, along with the rest of the gang!

Hey 7kstar, what play are you doing this year?

@Mick Lady how did it go? Where you able to get it downloaded and setup?

Sorry Diane, I should have replied sooner, but between Physical Therapists, and Nurses, this place is crazy! But yes, I got it done, but to be honest, it was because Mick's PT helped! Thank you so much for checking in, you're so sweet!

catrox, I hope the new year treats you better, you deserve a break, that's for sure.

I'm never surprised when Demented does something crazy, I wonder why?

Rue, I just "rediscovered" Billy Joel, thanks for the good wishes, back at ya!

Mick and I did something crazy ourselves tonight, (channeling Demented?) Remember when you where a kid, and you would trace your hand and make a turkey? Well, we did that tonight! I had a box of Crayola's (doesn't everyone?) and we went to town. It was so much fun! They're hanging on the wall, and we've been laughing like kids!

Mick Lady, I'm not the most tech savvy - I'm actually generally "technologically impaired," but I'll do what I can. And maybe others here might also have advice.

One piece of advice I can give - and I don't know if specifically Firefox has it or not (it was installed on my computer by our work IT people - be aware of the "pre-checked boxes." Those are the ones that say that you agree that the site people can send information to your e-mail. I always uncheck those boxes ahead of time, because that is easier than trying to find out how to ungive that consent later.

And though no thanks are needed, you are very welcome, Mick Lady.

No Awesom, you and Omegamom (and everyone here to be honest) really pulled me through this cancer bullshit. You've been two of best friends I have ever met on line, right up there with Brenda, my BFF. Don't ever underestimate what you did for me, I won't let you, and will never, ever forget it! My fondest wish is that someday we will all be able to meet up for real. I want to give you all the biggest hug!

  4. Thanks everyone! I have to put it off until Monday, Mick's following his Fantasy Football team and doesn't want to freak-out today! But he said "If your friends on PTV says go for it, do it!" He adores you all!

I'll  check in here, and let you know how it goes. I have a super fast internet connection so it shouldn't take to long.

I also use Firefox. It's the browser that work wants us to use. I also use an add on called Super Start with it which I love (It's my home page and it shows up whenever I open a new tab). It's like bookmarking a site but with little thumbnail pictures of the sites, and since I use so many sites in my work, it's great to be able to just point and click rather than have to open up the bookmark thing every time and look for the bookmark.

I only use ie when I want to play the free MSN games - I like the word and puzzle games - because Firefox doesn't work with those.

I don't use Chrome, so can't say anything about that one.

Okay Awesom, I'll PM you in the morning and ask your help, because I know you'll have the patience to help me through it!

But honestly Awesom, you and Omegamom have been so good to me, and I haven't been appreciative enough. Thank you, I wish there was something more I could say, something that really shows you two how much you have meant to me. So, just thanks....

Sorry I got the wrong date it's Monday.  We have an assistant nurse who said it was today and the head nurse said it was Monday.  We are off for a week, so I most likely won't know until the 28th unless someone contacts me.  So still sending prayers and positive energy for the entire family.

I'm looking forward to some time off to recharge my batteries.  :)  Today I got a thank you note from a student and he told me I reminded him of Snoopy.  They had to pick a character from peanuts.  It was a nice surprise.

Ah that's so sweet! I loved getting updates with my old students! Snoopy? How incredibly sweet! And you know it came from the heart.

Take some time for yourself, you deserve it! Post an update when you can, but just know both Mick and I have been praying for him, and you!

Ah, you don't fight the Red Baron from your dog house, do you?

I'm not sure how attached you are to IE, but you could switch browsers to avoid the bug until the fix is in? Both Chrome and Firefox are free and fairly easy to install. I just mention it because even if people stop embedding the tweets now, it won't stop the problem from happening on pages with embedded tweets already on them.

I'm going to do Firefox Dot! It's just Mick hates change and I'll have to ease him into it. But lots of people have told us to use it, so I'm going to bite the bullet. Wish me luck!

I really liked this one! It reminded me of House on Haunted Hill -- in a good way. In fact, I think they could have gone even further with that! I even liked Asa's mother because she made me think of those cheesy old haunted house kind of movies.

I agree that the last third of the episode or so was a little blah compared to the earlier bits. I wish that the possession stuff had been more like when Meg possessed Sam and tortured Jo. This demon wasn't that interesting, which was too bad.

Anyway, I think Dean and Mary are butting heads, just in a different way than  Sam and John did. Dean and Mary are apparently pretty nonconfrontational and tend to run cold rather than hot when they're upset, unlike Sam and John, so the interactions are different. I also can't really imagine either Sam or John being at odds over what is putting Dean and Mary at odds now. I mean, Sam and John seemed to both basically let it all hang out, emotionally.  But Dean and Mary both seem to be having the issue of withdrawing because they're sad and they're afraid of being rejected. I think that that all comes down to different personalities, though. When Dean went out to have some air, I thought that was comparable to Sam blowing up. I mean in terms of how upset it meant he was and how he was feeling, I mean.

Speaking of when Dean went out to get some air - did anyone else find it awkward that he was just standing there taking snorts from his flask? It was super clear imo that the direction should have been for him to have a cigarette, and it made the scene feel a little off/contrived to me that he wasn't smoking. It felt very "the network says we can't have Our Hero be a smoker." It felt especially awkward IMO because instead of having Dean do something fairly normal, like go outside for a smoke break, the show had him standing in the driveway, drinking alone from his secret flask. Eh. But in general, I think that realistically, Dean would be a smoker. This is the same man who was reminding Sam that they should be planning to die with their boots on. And he just seems like someone who would, I dunno. Maybe nobody else even thinks about this, though (lol).

Interesting thought! I bet you're right. Didn't Sam wake up when Jessica was killed because she bled into him before catching fire?

Oh good God Rue! House On Haunted Hill creeped me out as a kid! Now I won't be able to sleep!

  9. Hey guys! I have a request. Mods asked us to help with Twitter involved bugs (pinned on top of page), I use IE, and it's driving me nuts! It keeps me from replying on some threads, and I hate that! Thanks all!!!

For those that pray, I have a student that is having open heart surgery tomorrow and he has a 30% chance of surviving.  I have his brother also.  So your support and prayers would be greatly appreciated.

First production is done and the kid was in a wheelchair and on oxygen.  We created a chase scene just for him.  It was a high point for him as he wanted to perform so badly but due to his health issues talking loudly is an issue.  I'm just hoping that it will be one of many memories for him and his family.  So this year I'm struggling a little.  I guess I'm relating a bit too much to Dean.

We won't be doing any heavy drama's as my advance class had one student lose his little brother another has her dad pulling out of almost dying.  So it just feels like Billie is hanging around my classroom.  I know it's not the worst stuff but I would love to see something positive happen right now.  Sorry if I'm bringing you all down.

7kstar, I know it's early, but any news?

Personally, I'm sympathetic to all of them. I understand why Mary needs some space; I understand why it's hurting Dean; and I understand why Sam is able to set aside his own feelings right now. I think they all have valid points of view, myself. Which is the way it should be, IMO.

Not really commenting so much on this post, but I just wanted to say, Dot, what's up with you? Lately, your posts have been kicking ass! You've really added some fresh insight for me, and I truly appreciate that! Keep it up Dot!

I'm the opposite. I find Billie awesome. Loved the snarky dialog between her and Dean. She's doesn't show up very often so her character is nowhere close to being annoying.

I agree, plus she so damn beautiful!

I liked the episode, for the most part, but I have to say it:

Anti-possession tattoos? Remember when that was a thing?

I totally forgot about these! Shouldn't every Hunter have one? Honestly, the writer on this show are driving me mad...

I agree with Diane, you've shown yourself to be a wonderful teacher! I taught grad school for 28 years, and I have always appreciated the great teachers my students had early in their education. You 7kstar, are one of them!

Prayers sent, for both you and your student.

...you're watching Arrow and think a motel room was straight out of Supernatural

I love checking out the motel rooms the guys stay in! We went camping once in Maine when a hurricane came through. We rented a room at "Jim's Oak Leaf Motel", that had lamps made of coke bottles and rented rooms by the hour! Always reminded me of where our Boys stay.

BTW, my Sammy is a large (nearly twice the size of my other cat!) fluffy, long-haired Siamese with blue/green eyes and ENORMOUS feet (6 toes on each foot) whose "real" (though not "official") name is Sasquatch.  So yeah, maybe I *do* watch too much SPN.  (My other cat is smaller, quicker, much more playful and bullies Sammy; but I got her before I started watching SPN so she's Molly, not Deanna.)

My Mom told me that six toed cats were very lucky! So maybe you have a real "supernatural" Sammy! Do you ever call him Moose?
