I recall one wannabe missionary who appeared at one of those churches: a guy who's been called by God to go on a mission to - Ireland. I remember him because usually it's a married couple who've been called to be missionaries and this guy seemed to be single. And - Ireland. Gosh, what a grueling challenging country to be called to. 🤣

Could he grab one of the not-Nuries on his way to Ireland?  I don’t know if even Jill could grift a trip there.

  2. I completely forgot today was the day. (I teach 3rd grade, so the last 24 hours have been difficult, to put it mildly.)

12.5 years is ALOT. I mean, that’s a really long time. He won’t even know his kids, and he’ll barely know Anna when he gets out. I know she’s relying on JB a lot now, but I feel like she’s going to develop more independence simply because she has to. She may not even have a need for Joshy when he gets out.

Isn't that nice.  A brand new State for Deertick to spread his hate and bile to the masses.  Nothing like a fresh group of souls to pollute with your

It’s Oklahoma. Lots of people agree with him there.

From looking at the work he did while in LS, it looks like he’s looking for a job in public service. If that’s the case, then good for him. Hopefully, he wants to help victims and not just victimize them again.

Apparently, cleaning the stove--or kitchen--was not her jurisdiction growing up.

Not to defend the posers, but my stove has open grates like that, and I feel like I am eternally wiping it out. If I forget even one day, it looks like that. It looks nice, but it’s terrible design. (Which reminds me, I need to go wipe my stove down.)

Katey was at 2 centimetres when she was admitted. So I assume the delivery would start soon on it's own. So I wonder why they went with inducing

Most women spend the last few weeks dilated thanks to pressure from the baby’s head. I bet her doctor gave her something to soften her cervix. Usually it’s given the night before an induction. Sometimes it starts labor on its own, and sometimes you need the pitocin help. 😀

Wow her boobs are HUGE! Clutching her stomach yay we can see you are PREGNANT. 🙄🙄🙄

At that point in my pregnancies, clutching my stomach was more of a necessity than anything else. It feels like the baby will literally fall out. 🤣🤣🤣

  7. Some of Jill’s mistakes as a mother I attribute to the fact that she had an idiot for a mother, but she was brainwashed into believing that Michelle’s mothering method was the best ever. I’m hoping that with experience and more exposure to other moms, Jill will parent this one a little differently. She already seems to have adapted with Izzy and Sam. (I mean, they could still be using the Pearl method, but if they are, they’re hiding it well.)

  8. Lots of Mennonite girls work outside the home too. My parents live near Shipshewana, IN (Amish tourist trap) and most of the restaurants and stores have Old Order Mennonite girls working at them. The Rise n’ Roll bakery has a ton. (They also have the best donuts ever. Seriously. If you’re ever that way, get a dozen. There’s a reason they’re called Amish Crack. 😂)

So, once again, Jilly is clueless about everything. Jill, if you want to emulate the Amish, try this - FEED YOUR KIDS!

As for boiling water to make iced tea, yes. That's one way to do it, but there's also "sun tea," where you put water and a bunch of teabags into a glass container and let it sit in the sun for an hour or two. I haven't made sun tea in a long time, so I can't remember the water : teabag ratio, but it works well. I have no idea if that's a Southern thing, or just a thing.

It’s a thing all over. My northern NY (close enough to spit and hit Canada) mom used to make Sun tea all the time when I was a kid.

Definitely think the right team won. Egypt and Mike made smart decisions to make the home appeal to a ton of different buyers. That being said, there would be ZERO chance of me spending almost a million dollars on a home that was exactly like my neighbors. (And, let’s be honest, in the end, the houses are all basically the same. They’re just finished and decorated slightly differently.)

Oh, and I was rather puzzled that people were putting a nursery on the third floor by itself. Would most parents do/like this?

The nursery was on the 2nd floor with the other bedrooms. The bonus room was the 3rd floor. I love the idea of a media room up there.

Absolutely no one else gets to define or tell someone else what a “real” disability is. Sometimes disabilities are visible; other times, they aren’t. Not to even mention that some members of the Deaf community do not consider their deafness a disability. To minimize someone else’s pain because they don’t fit our preconceived notions is something that I wish people everywhere would refrain from doing.

Exactly. A friend of mine lost his niece to suicide because she was bullied about her alopecia. I am firmly in the “they were both wrong” camp. Like I told my daughter, if this had happened at school, both kids would be in trouble. Don’t talk about other people that way, and don’t hit people who make you upset.

I'm confused - how many continuances have there been? One from the prosecutors and two from the defense? Certainly a judge wouldn't let this go on indefinitely.

As for federal sentencing guidelines the way I understand it is a few decades ago, lawyers and defendants were tired of the discrepancies across the board in sentencing so the mandatory guideline came about. But both firm leaning and lenient leaning judges did not like the guidelines. After a court case the guideline became suggestions. However even as suggestions the guidelines have made sentencing more uniform with judges mostly staying loosely within the guidelines. Occasionally it becomes almost a mini court case to get to the sentence when one side or the other disagrees. At times, too lenient and extremely harsh sentences still do happen and are almost never overturned.

Lately, it seems the federal sentencing guideline for CSA have become A BIG DEAL. From what I’ve been hearing, it sounds like judges have a lot of leeway, especially to go below the guidelines if the defendant is remorseful. Which we know Josh is not.

    The bar was last week.

Right. And she didn’t post pictures of him in February. She was completely off IG for most of December and January, so no pics there. We did see him at the trial, but I just think that assuming that Derrick is lazing about the house not working or studying is jumping to conclusions. It seems like he’s been somewhere. Or, maybe he is just being lazy, and Jill’s been smart enough to hide it. 🤷‍♀️
I hope for everyone’s sake, he’s found a job he’s happy with. Jill doesn’t handle newborns well, so having Derrick at loose ends will cause her even more stress.
