  1. All of the stories were pretty anticlimactic considering Hollywood has some pretty cool history. I would have like to see something about Thomas Ince or Jayne Mansfield
  2. Yes, Caleb lied and spied on Hanna but he's the only love interest who didn't intentionally torture the girls psychologically. I say intentional, because he probably did mess with Hanna a bit when she thought she was getting the jewelry but found Jenna with it instead. But Ali, Toby and Ezra were seriously mind fucking, not just their love interest, but all the girls. The writing on the show is weak in many ways but the characters are really lacking. I would say Hanna is the most fully fleshed out characters. You know her personality and her motivation. And she has the best relationships with all the other characters. I wouldn't say she's the most forgiving, but like you said, she has a big heart which makes it easier to create and explore relationships with the other characters. I think the only person she holds a grudge against is her dad and his new family but luckily they dropped that storyline. But then again they throw in random tidbits like her not know the name of the SATs but scoring really high on the test. It's very contrived. Emily and Spencer are good characters, but not great. Emily kind of has two personalities. Sometimes she's kind and sweet and forgiving but then something happens and she turns into a vengeful super sleuth. Spencer is great but she's more of a trope than a character. Both girls seem to have conflicting dual personalities. Whenever the show needs to introduce a new secret, it's like they backtrack the character development. Spencer's drug abuse pretty much came out of nowhere as did her kinda fake/kinda real mental breakdown. And I won't even get into Aria. She's just a sidekick masquerading as a main character, but maybe that's what happens when the villains outnumber the heroes on the show.
  3. I couldn't be bothered to read everyone's coffee/tea preferences but I did notice Dean requested sunblock as well as 'someone to apply it.' I thought that was pretty comical. 100% agree, I don't understand how he is just pining after her. Wow, look at Jenice, she squeegies the deck like a champ and she practices knots in her spare time. I've never seen anyone so sexy! I don't even see the friendship. I think they're bunkmates whose friendship is based on commiserating over the person they left on land. I don't think they talk about anything other than their bf/gf or Andrew's incompetence. I thought Kat was going to throw a glass at her. She was so disinterested. I had a roommate like this in college. Anytime she even kissed a guy she had to hold court so everyone knew what happened and weighed in on her next move. By the time she talked to the guy, he had heard the story from everyone else. I love that! He almost looked glad to be holding the line for the guests on the raft instead of dealing with Kate in the interior. Last week he was blow drying the 'aged paper' for the pirate scavenger hunt that Kate rescinded.
  4. You summed it up perfectly! I think they both would be happier with someone else and that person could easily exist. Edgar, for example, is kind of perfect for Lindsay. But at the time, I think both Lindsay and Paul believed the other was the best they could do. So from here, they'll either bond over their mismatched marriage of convenience or realize they should never have gotten married in the first place and mutually end things.
  5. I admit I wasn't 100% paying attention when I watched it, but I do think Ben fudged something in the kitchen. He makes an offhand remark that the lobster wasn't ready so I think he skipped a course, sent the lamb out and then back tracked with the lobster. I say that because it makese no sense to serve meat before seafood. And then there is the possibility that he did send out an appetizer but since Dean is the only one with an opinion, maybe the hungry Korean just passed on that course. It just seems unlikely that Ben would be three hours late for a meal knowing how punctual this guy is. Don't even get me started on the hour-fifteen bs. I've had dinners at McDonalds that lasted longer than that. I imagine a full course meal would feel rushed in that amount of time. Seems fishy, especially for someone who makes a living in night life. I started watching this show because the first season felt more authentic than any other reality series. You can't write characters like CJ and Sam. They were so committed. This season feels a lot more contrived, even the porthole incident. How convenient that Kat and Amy are comparing cabins and lo and behold they stumble on a salty swamp in Andrew's room.
  6. Is it me, or was she completely overreacting over having to serve the dinner guests? Someone has to do it and she's the lowest ranking deckhand on the ship right now. It's not like they'll pull the boatswain. It's between her and Kelly and she's the expendable one if they need an extra hand. Had Andrew not been fired, they probably would have asked him to serve instead.
  7. I cringed at the idea of a scavenger hunt too! Maybe if the weather was less than ideal, but I'm sure this group can entertain themselves. I do think Kate had good intentions and was trying to compensate for Ben's tardiness with dinner but all bets went out the window when the guest called her 'bitchy' On a slightly unrelated note, don't the guests work in night life? I find it comical they have a strict dinner time of 8:30 considering their occupation
  8. I agree 100% with both of you. The #1 rule of hospitality is 'service with a smile' We've all done it at some point in our lives (hopefully) and it's really not that hard. That said, the guests voiced their concern in a snide and condescending way and Kate's reaction was very passive aggressive. But it wasn't sexist. It may seem annoying to some, but at my job, I have Amy's demeanor. Most of my clients comment on how often I'm smiling and positive. If that were not the case, I would prefer they brought it to my attention. Considering the crew pools their tip, I think all of them would appreciate Kate taking the guest's advice and putting on a more welcoming and hospitable demeanor.
  9. I don't think the captain is bothered by how his former employees get home. Firing him before the season was over wasn't the problem. And trying to find a replacement shouldn't have been an issue either since the deckhands are already working double time to make up for him. If anything, the charter will go smoother without Andrew. Technically, by waking up and preparing the boat for the guests that day, Andrew had already begun work on that charter. I think the main concern was that guests were arriving within the hour and Andrew is a wild card. Knowing him, he'd take his sweet time packing his bags and saunter down the dock flipping off the captain as the guests come aboard. Basically, Andrew picked the perfect time to come clean to the Captain knowing there were a dozen other things that took priority over his dismissal.
  10. I'm not sure how involved Bravo is with the tips seen on the show, but it's actually pretty standard to leave a cash tip in a white envelope on a chartered yacht or even a one-day snorkeling excursion. With a little help from the crew members, the primary guest can find a bank or have money wired in advance knowing they will be vacationing abroad.
  11. Can you elaborate on Eddie's failed managerial decision last season? I only remember Aleks getting bullied into giving Sam her undeserved tip. I don't believe Eddie had this much authority last year. So far Andrew has actually increased their work load since they have to stop and teach him everything, doubling the time consumption of every task. I doubt he will last long. But the captain really screwed up by not firing him on the spot after doling out the first charter's tip. Andrew picked the perfect time to come clean. There was no way the captain would fire him an hour before charter guests arrive.
