I personally have always found John Henson to be funny and Nicole Sullivan to be downright fantastic (on MadTV), so I'm happy to see both of them and I hope they bring the humor. I've never seen Matt Dallas before but I was happy that he owned up to being gay. Rather tough for a minor celebrity. I thought Barbara Eden was fantastic for someone who is 85 or however old she is. I mean come on, my Dad is 82 and he can't remember what food is, let alone how to cook anything. I think most of these people are probably good enough to follow a recipe without any distractions, sort of like most of us? But when you throw them on to a TV show without recipes and a time limit? Well of course chaos ensues.

S01.E04: OMG! That's Michelle Obama
LBFilmBuff replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Project Runway: Junior [V]
That was a tough one because I would definitely have kept Jesse and he probably wouldn't have been in the bottom looks either. As much as I think Jakson would be a fun friend to have in school, his design was pretty bad. The fabrics were awful and the design wasn't much of anything. I agreed with the winner and in fact didn't see anyone else who was even close. Is it too late for Tim to save Jesse? -
S01.E03: Teamwork Is Hard

I think these kids have a passing knowledge of fashion history through looking at books or websites I would think, particularly after they'd been picked for the show. Didn't the kids this week look at Simplicity patterns from the era to find inspiration? I don't think it would be comprehensive but it would be a good starting place, and the finished designs only vaguely matched their assigned decades anyway. -
I can't add more than everyone has said, but I do think that crying Justin is not as annoying to me as bullying/braggart Justin is. And I think it is the two of them together that cause the problem. If he was just a braggart or crybaby he would be more palatable. I think I am just going to have to treat it as a Zach & Flo sort of situation. I was glad for HIM that they won since he had to put up with her all the time. I'll be happyish for Diana, particularly if it gives her the resources to leave him. :-) And count me in as someone who has never been particularly bothered by Chris & Logan. Their bizarre dynamic seems to only be directed at each other (and at themselves really) so they are their own special brand of fascinating dysfunction. They sort of remind me of Momma's Family where the arguments were pitched so high but the stakes were so low. Edited to say that I liked Sam's son, and Phil's use of "WILL be eliminated." And to say, go Team Haggoo!

For me the problem with Justin is that he is a braggart. He goes on and on about how great he is and doesn't give nearly enough credit to luck or his partner or race design. It may just be "sports talk" or behavior, but I try to avoid that in real life and I really don't want to have to see it all the time. I am clearly rooting for the reporters, Haggoo be damned. They are cheerful and supportive and just as appreciative as Justin, but in a more natural way.

Worst Cooks In America: Celebrity Edition
LBFilmBuff replied to Kromm's topic in Worst Cooks In America [V]
It looks like my TiFaux recorded this show so I had to watch. I must have had it left over from earlier seasons, which I sort of enjoyed. I am probably about as bad a chef as these guys are, though I can follow a recipe. I think it's because they don't have recipes other than their notes and Anne screaming at them that causes so much "hijinx" and bad cooking. I have never heard of Kendra Wilkinson, but I do happen to know who all the other people are. I don't think I've seen them on anything since "Did I do that" guy - Urkel. People are commenting on Greg Brady's cluelessness, but I almost felt like he was having some senior moments. I don't know if that's true but it wouldn't surprise me if his memory is fading. PS I'm about the same age. -
Maddie really needs a makeover. The hair is ridiculous but that doesn't bother me as much as all the heavy makeup. She looks like Courtney Stodden (that IS the name of the 16 year old girl who looks like she's 50 trying to pass for 40, right?). Tyanna and Rayvon are the only ones I think I'd want to hear on my ipod. Not sure if they're dynamic enough performers...yet.

I thought about half of Dimitri's collection was clearly the best. When the "weed" dress came out I thought that would get him the win. It was striking and didn't look like anything else he had done. Then he had that chartreuse looking thing with the black swirls, and then the cool coat with the cutouts. That made three great looks out of eight for me, which was a much higher proportion than anyone else. I liked Sonji's purely for the color, or as Isaac would say, the "color story" whatever that is. But anything looking like Gretchen's granny panties, or sheer, etc. is a deal breaker. Just totally derivative of everyone else. Helen's collection was just depressing to me.

Has anyone EVER had a better design by following Zanna's advice? Helen listened to Zanna and went more "youthful" (snerk) and came up with a sparkly nightgown. She surely has to be the worst mentor ever. If you do the opposite of what she says then you should be allright (and I saw Anya "mentor" people on the godawful Under The Gunn). ZannaDon't for sure. Dimitri's dress was the real thing and everything else was pretty boring (Michelle), tackyass (Sonjia), or fugly (Helen).

Um, the most annoying thing about Shi was that fake beard she was wearing to avoid the paparazzi, or whatever nonsense she was spouting. I thought Cody Fry and Rayvon Owens were amazing. The group rounds are entertaining and I think very important. Sure, a singer might not have exactly this sort of challenge in the future, but there will be many challenges far harder, such as learning songs and arrangements on short notice, plus choreo, plus flying or driving somewhere on very little sleep. If you can't survive the group rounds you probably wouldn't survive the top 24 or whatever it is.

I guess I'm the only one who thought Amal Clooney looked nice. I like formal gloves. So sue me.

Really? I didn't think it was nearly funny enough. Kathy seemed so toned down. She was more like how she was on her talk show (not a good thing) rather than how she was on her reality show or her standup stuff. I can find photos of the fashion all over TV and the internet, but I like Fashion Police for the irreverent and funny take on the clothes. I liked Brad I guess, and I have never really gotten excited about Kelly. Giuliana is a good sport at least.

I finally caught this and found the whole thing disappointing because in a "one night only" thing you get people who provide the drama and choreo, hence the win to the Meladores or whatever they're called. If it had gone on for a few weeks, I think the final three would have been SanFran6, The Exchange, and Traces. Personally I thought The Exchange was significantly better than all the other groups. But in any case, I'd hardly call this a "season" so I can't put the Meladores on the same level as NOTA, Committed, Pentatonix, and Home Free.

Wow, so many posts and no one has commented on how yummy the guest judge is. I've never heard of Michael Bastian but I think I'll have to google his name for sexy photos. :-) I thought Helen's and Justin's outfits were pretty fugly and boring. I think Fabio and Gunnar had a more difficult assignment, but between the two of them, I thought Fabio's was worse. It's just sad that Gunnar was up against one of the chosen ones and it was his scripted time to go. Next week Sam?

S04.E03: Something Wicked This Way Comes
LBFilmBuff replied to yeswedo's topic in Project Runway All Stars
I really like Chris but his dress was awful. When it came out I immediately said he was in trouble. Helen's was hideous too but there was something there, not much, but a bit of crazy design. Chris' just looked like what everyone said, a long torn t-shirt over a dirty looking series of petticoats. Fug. I liked Dmitry's but would have liked it much better if he had gone with "flames" in red or really any color other than black. Blue would have looked good too, or you could harken to the show and throw in that wicked witch green color. The winning design was not really my style. That mullety look is so downmarket in my opinion. If the whole dress had been that lasercut "lace" type thing I would have liked it better.
