If this new character starts to become a K-wife, then yes, I am out. But we just don't know. To be honest, I have a feeling she might be the new "Big Bad." Not the incompetance of the red head, but someone very cunning. If not the big bad, as I said in the other thread - she will be part of the storyline that tells us why those two are the witnesses."
I hadn't looked at it that way. If the press release had said something like "Betsy Ross. She's smart, sexy and, oh by the way, whose side is she on?", I would have smiled and thought to myself, okay, this might work.
Still pissed off at losing Orlando, tho.

I know Goffman was in love with Katrina, but I almost feel like the network may have more to do with the demise of Vintage Sleepy Hollow (so to speak) than even Goffman. I mean they are doing the same thing with Betsy Ross they tried to do with Katrina. But then they can also claim well we saved the show and pushed it back towards what had been in Vintage SH to gain goodwill again...but yet all signs are pointing to them not really seeing or believing or caring anymore what made it so wonderful to begin with.
Yes, yes and yes. It didn't work with Katrina so they are going to try EXACTLY the same thing with Betsy Ross to draw in that coveted 18-49 male demographic.

@CherryCinnaMoon I can't speak to the Orlando thing. That's business stuff. I tell stories and I work hard to tell the best ones I can.So the 'Orlando thing' was business? Then why was the casting agency looking for a stand-in for OJ? That doesn't make sense, but then again, this show hasn't made sense for a long time.
So they hired a white woman to play 'smart, sexy Betsy Ross? Nicole or Lyndie aren't smart or sexy enough? Seems to me that the Powers That Be are still trying to pull in the male 18-49 demographic. What the PTB don't seem to understand that males in that demographic who like the 'spooky, supernatural stuff' are already watching and the ones who don't like it won't watch even if Angelina Jolie is playing Betsy totally naked. (Of course jhlipton and Riddley Walker would be glued to their screens).
I've lost all interest in watching this show now.

Kimberella, look at OJ's tweet July 9 about the MariellaHume facebook casting call. He says, with tongue-in-cheek, that the picture looks familiar, but he can't place it.(It's a pic of OJ with the face removed). It's a casting call for a black male stand-in for a recurring role on a supernatural crime show. Has OJ been rehired and, since it hasn't been announced yet, he's not saying anything? I'm not giving up yet.

Okay, this gets weirder and weirder. 'Sleepy Hollowers' has a post of a casting agency looking for a stand-in for an African-American male for a recurring role. The picture has most of the face covered, but the photo is obviously OJ. I went to the casting agency website and this is one of OJ's photos.
Then there is a post of Lyndie and Orlando onstage at SDCC.
Then there is a post of a casting call (Project Casting), dated July 8, 2015, requesting extras for a gala. The synopsis has this " ‘Sleepy Hollow’ stars Tom Mison, Nichole Beharie and Orlando Jones."
Hunh? Is somebody playing with us?

Don't think either Mary or Tituba is dead dead, possibly only sort of temporarily dead. Since they made a point of showing her eyes missing, maybe she becomes the new seer.
So now Ann Hale is the queen witch. I didn't see that coming, although looking back, it was set up pretty well with her being both an Essex witch and Countess M's daughter.
Also, just read that Shane West, Janet Montgomery, Seth Gabel, Ashley Madekwe, Iddo Goldberg, Brannon Braga and Adam Simon will be at the San Diego Comic-Con in July, so looks like a probable S3 with nobody dead dead except maybe the Countess.

Absolutely. My granddaughter was just in a high school production of 'Legally Blonde' and both dogs showed more acting ability than KW.

As much as I want a few familiar faces filling out the cast, Reyes is not one I need to see again. They will have to do some thorough ret-conning to make her palatable to me and even then she's still going to have a bit of stink clinging to her after her treatment of Irving. She wasn't really given much of a character anyway, just someone to show up and fill in plot-points as not-Irving. I do hope we see some announcements about who is going to be in the cast beyond the core of Mison, Beharie and likely Greenwood as well. I'm hoping Orion has a recurring role and possibly an important arc.
Oh yes. Orion please. A dark angel, friend/foe would be an asset to Team Witness (and besides, he's cute)
Going now to live on WeatherUnderground as hurricane season is imminent and I live in Florida............

As to OJ, I haven't seen anything but support for the "new SH", and it does look like he's got a lot of irons in the fire. For all we know, he may only signed on for 2 seasons -- a lot of actors and actresses don't like to be tied down to just one series. (It's looking like Scott Caan should have done this...)
Apparently he's the lead in a new show by Roberto Orci-----Congrats and best wishes.....You will be missed.

It's a murky issue about what motivated Goffman. On one hand, KW was clearly his muse to the point of it short-circuiting any awareness that she was not going over well with the SH audience. But there had to be a deeply embedded belief that KW was somehow a more marketable product than NB and the public would clearly see the errors of their ways with supporting NB (Ha! Goffman failed to see the Eros of his way!).
We'll probably never know for sure and he probably is developing a CBS vehicle for KW, but I really don't care. I only watch Elementary and Person of Interest on CBS so my chances of tripping on it are pretty slim.
Does anyone have any info or contacts with info as to how his family, particularly his wife, reacted to all of this? Surely, his wife was fully aware of his intense interest/behavior. If MY husband had done all of this, we would have had an, um, discussion or two and probably a divorce.

I am SO excited! I leave the fandom for a little break after that heartbreaking S2, only to come back and find out that, not only is SH renewed (as if that wasn't good enough), but that Goffman is GONE! Bye bye Goffman, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!
Pure speculation here, but I'm wondering if Goffman had originally had Abbie in mind to "move along" at the end of the season, as in die/leave/etc. and formally move Katrina into her place as Witness but was forced to revamp that with all the issues that come with slumping ratings, poor writing, poor planning, etc. It seemed that he was trying to manuever Katrina into being the new wonderful and couldn't imagine that people wouldn't like her as much as he did and, when Fox came down on him for all the issues with the show, he couldn't get out of the way fast enough. Thus, Katrina going evil and going gone instead of Abbie. Goffman would probably have preffered it the other way around, but couldn't get away with it. JMO on limited sleep and being unable to remember ALL the goodies of the season.
Upthread, someone speculated that Nicole wasn't asked (apparently not on the list given to the FOX production dept) to do commentary for the DVD for S2 because maybe she wasn't supposed to still be there. Word from the grapevine was that it was only TM, JN and KW to do the commentary. You are not alone in your speculation. But all is good now. Mark Goofman recently tweeted he had spent the day working with Nicole on commentary for the S2 DVD. This forum had a good time imagining his unhappiness both for doing the commentary and having to post that tweet.

It seems that the showrunner and writers 'get' the K issue, but weren't aware that a lot of fans just don't want another white woman right now. In fact, don't want another woman period regardless of race.
