He's already said he's not doing Creation cons as of 2018.

What about the rest of this year? Is he still contracted to do them? Just curious. If he is at the cons, will he say anything?

If Mark becomes the Doctor, he will face the same problems that the characters on SPN have faced the last several years: Writing that spirals further and further down the toilet instead of maintaining a decent level of writing.  I wanted to like PC's doctor, but the writing was atrocious.  I finally stopped watching after TPTB changed the way Cybermen were created and gave the Master a sex-change.  I will say, though, that I would watch Mark in anything.

I didn't like PC until this season with Pearl Mackie. I realized it was Clara I didn't like. I keep hearing that the BBC wants a David Tennant type and Chris Chibnall hasn't written his Dr yet so maybe he wants a not-so-young one.

Someone upthread mentioned that Mark retweeted the birthday greetings from Dr Who and did not retweet the one from Jim Michaels. I noticed that too. Seems like there is an issue there that no one is talking about. Wonder why Mark isn't talking. Would leaving the show negate his contract with Creation?

You know, maybe he is going to be the 13th Doctor. Peter Capaldi is leaving this season and Mark is already the voice of BBC America. That would be pretty amazing.

    I can totally see this.....

  4. Another thought. Mark Pellegrino was in 13 Reasons Why  which is renewed for S2. Supernatural may have had to make him a regular to lure him away from that blockbuster.

When Mark was finishing filming for the year he was being real sentimental and thanking the cast and crew for changing his life for the better as if he was leaving the show and wanted to express his gratitude...then a few weeks later Mark seems disgruntled.  So what changed?

I've heard a person say Misha said at JibCon that he was told he was being killed about 7 weeks ago or so but only found out he was coming back to the show a week or so ago.

IF Misha said this at JibCon, possibly Misha, Mark S and Ruth were all told they were being killed off several weeks ago. Then, again, if the above its true, a week or so ago, Misha (and possibly Ruth) found out he (they) were coming back but Mark S found out he was not. Contract issues? Creative issues? Storyline issues?

I believe Mark P was promoted to a regular with the planned concurrent demotion of Mark S from that status. IMO,  the move to make Mark P a regular  and Mark S not gives pretty strong  hints of the dynamic for next year. Mark S was associated with Dean and more often paired with Dean on screen. Mark P is more associated with Sam and paired with Sam. The cast change fits in nicely with  Dabbs continued efforts (IMO it was pretty blatant this season) to move to more Sam centered stories.

You're probably right. Abruptly bringing in Mark P mid-season and making him a regular right off the bat makes it look like they were "pre-replacing" Mark S. With the Nephilim story line, there's no place for Crowley.

  7. Mark Pellegrino retweeted Mark Sheppard's tweet that Mark S would be at many cons in 2018, just not Creation ones. Apparently, Mark S and Creation have parted ways as of 2018.

The BBC is looking for a new Dr Who. "Even when I lose, I win". You don't suppose.............?

  8. Okay, I'm wondering. Two possible scenarios:

    1. Mark S. is trolling us and will be back in S13 in some capacity

    2. Mark S was terminated/left the show for whatever reason. TPTB did not want to deal with the backlash and 'killed off' Castiel also allowing JP to to "accidently" leak that Cas/Misha would be back. There's no backlash for Crowley.

Guess I just have a suspicious mind.

Mark's on the Creation schedule through 2017 and into 2018

So, Mark not at JIBCon is not related.  However BOTH Mark & Ruth will be at the Con in two weeks in Phoenix (I think it's Phoenix). AWKWARD.

Actually, the ONE con that is a portent of who is on the show is San Diego Comic Con. That is specifically about teasing the next year.  This year it's back to the third week of July, so hopefully we'll get a sizzle real this year.

Would you keep us posted with anything you hear? I really like both Crowley and Rowena. Thanks

So, how much of this turned out to be accurate?

    • Get ready to say goodbye! Someone you’ve come to love will die, permanently thanks to Lucifer, so prepare to say goodbye.
    • There is another death, too, but for a minor character.

Well technically, Lucifer killed Rowena and Cas. Crowley killed himself. Is the minor character Kelly? Ketch? Lady Twat? Maybe she revealed the actual characters in her PMs, but as this reads, it isn't even a spoiler.

So overall, this 'source' was a pretty big fail, no?

It doesn't say Lucifer will kill someone you've come to love, it says someone will die permanently thanks to Lucifer. Crowley killed himself for a spell on Lucifer. So, thanks to Lucifer, Crowley is permanently dead. The only thing I've seen from Mark Shephard's twitter is a response to the question of why he wasn't at JIBcon. He said he wasn't invited. Misha obviously was, because he was there. I'm wondering if there may have been contract disputes or 'creative differences' but apparently Crowley is really gone. Another death for a minor character would be Rowena. This closes that plot line.

Watching JIBcon vids and I'm 99% sure JP meant to spill the beans re Misha.

I think so too. All JP or JA had to say was 'we filmed this before we filmed the finale' for it to be believable.

  12. Off Topic: Mark Goffman (all you long time posters will remember this name), the showrunner for Bull ( CBS Michael Weatherly's new show) is leaving after only 1 year and another showrunner is taking over for Season 2. Wonder if he thought Bull should add a really powerful witch......

Back on topic: Not usually happy that a show is cancelled, but this one is an exception.#AbbieMillsdeservedbetter.

  13. A while back I heard that Kris Marshall might be 13 so I watched Death In Paradise to see how he acted. Recently I heard Luke Treadaway might be 13 so I watched Fortitude. I also heard Sacha Dhawan might be 13 but haven't watched anything he is in yet. So far, either Kris Marshall or Luke Treadaway could play the Dr. What do other Whovians think?

No, they definitely only made two versions - one Welsh and one bilingual. The bilingual version is very English-heavy, because Mathias is in nearly every scene and he only speaks English in that version, but there are a good number of scenes that are Welsh subtitled in English. Unless Netflix edited them out on the assumption that US viewers wouldn't cope with the subtitles? But you'd lose bits of plot that way...although there's nothing new there.

You are right. There are no subtitles. Netflix must have edited them out. I would have enjoyed the bilingual one. For all you UK folks, Wales is breathtakingly beautiful.

I watched the S4C version of S3 so I've already seen it, but I'm watching again for the bilingual BBC version anyway. It's the first time a show has ever attempted to represent how bilingualism actually works in Wales, and I really love that about it - I love the simplicity of how they turned a 100% Welsh show into a mixed Welsh and English show just by having Mathias in the English version not be a Welsh speaker. Everyone else continues to speak Welsh when he isn't around, but when he's present they switch to English, and since he's the lead that gives enough English scenes to satisfy the BBC version of the show.

There must be 3 productions then. I'm watching S1 and S2 on Netflix in the US and it is completely in English.

AFIK, River and Susan are the only ones he is related to.

I thought River Song was Melody Pond, the daughter of Amy & Rory, conceived in the Tardis and the wife of the Dr (who wouldn't have had a photo of his other two wives Cleopatra and Elizabeth I). How is he related to Susan? Or is she the mother of the mother of the Dr's granddaughter in the David Tennant episode with his (future) wife Georgia Moffett?

Since BBC America has taken to pretending Eccleston was never really Doctor Who, despite his being numbered as one, I am on the search for his episodes.  I'd like to avoid having to buy the DVD's because they're expensive and I'd rather just watch.  But Netflix has dropped Doctor Who (which I can NOT understand) and Hulu doesn't carry it, either.

Does anyone know where I can view them?

Amazon Prime gave me access to all the season episodes starting with Eccleston.
