  1. And my opinion on the n word is that is it a cultural thing that isn't meant for everyone to understand. Within a certain community that has taken a word to and twist it so it doesn't have that impact within the community. It will never be the same as someone outside of that community to use it. The two aren't and will never be equatable. Oppressed individual have been doing this since the beginning of time. Of course in a historical context it should be said and not sugar coated in education. But like Whoopi said, it exists in music anybody can say it but be prepared for the consequences. I grew up hearing and saying it but there is nothing like seeing it written on your dorm room door by a white person on a mostly white campus. Not ever the same, ever. Believe me, I know.
  2. I think Whoopi was talking about younger black people using the "n word" and it has now become a term of endearment or interchangeable with "guy" and "dude" within the black community, whether you agree with it or not. It IS NOT a license for white people to use it. I really hate it when, especially a non-black person tries to use that argument about if black people can say it why get offended if a white person says it. Like really, do you even hear yourself. Bitsy got her dumbass on tv crying about this very topic. She was literally in tears because she couldn't understand why white people can't use it because the rappers use it in songs. You can use it, just prepare for the consequences that come with and yes, you do deserve the consequences. Rappers have grown up using the word, they are black, some black people use it, some don't. You are white, you don't get to use it, unless in relating to a historical context. It's not that hard to understand. Like some gay people might use the f word or the D-word for lesbians but you as a straight person would be rightly called out for it if you chose to use it. It is relative and it is all about context. You as a person of privilege do not get to chastise me on what is acceptable language to use amongst my people.
  3. There is a long history of blacks being compared to apes and yes it is racist Raven. Seriously? I'm younger than Raven and I get this. Ugh. This isn't about being sensitive and jumping to call everything racist either. I find that implication insulting.
  4. Two strong, opinionated people on one panel is not the problem. The problem comes from when one of those people don't want to listen to the other and thinks her opinion is gospel. Whoopi acts like a child that has to have last word with her all-knowing opinions.
  5. Rosie can't win in anything she would've done. Someone will always find fault in how she did this or that. She doesn't owe me any explanation and I don't care how she chose to go out. If it's affecting her health and she needs to leave to be with her family, so be it. For me, Whoopi is a huge part of this show's failings and they need to address it. Either rework the whole show over or put it out to pasture.
  6. I used to be a huge fan of Whoopi. I've probably seen 90% of the movies she's made. I cannot stomach her now. My love for her ended with the "rape rape" comment. Now, she is completely over bearing and needs to go.
  7. Does Whoopi not like Frozen because of its pro-female, sisterhood plot? She does seem anti-woman everytime she speaks on issues that women face.
