::Sigh::  I wish people would stop reporting it as "the black Superman project" when no one ever said that's what it is. Who knows, maybe they'll be doing Val-Zod, but people assuming that as fact just because a Black creator is attached is a problem.

It says it right in the article, they are introducing a Black Actor as Superman in this movie.

I've seen enough of Vincent D'Onfrio in other things to know he's a good actor.  But I just don't like his choices as Kingpin.  It's like a Nicholas Cage performance before Nicholas Cage was in on the joke.

Is there any CGI involved? I just saw a video of D'Onfrio doing press for Echo and talking about filming DareDevil and he's much thinner than Kingpin. I wonder if the issue is CGI or padding to make him bigger which impacts his performance?

I don't have an issue with it. Although,  something felt off about Kingpin in Hawkeye but, I blamed the Hawaiian shirts 😆

I wonder if Steven Yeun saw the gatekeeper comments about Sentry's body and didn't want to be treated like Tom Cruise was by the Reacher gatekeepers?

I thought it was related to the strike and all the scheduling/rescheduling that's happened since the Strikes ended.

I would say they do hate the current editions of the classic comics characters and particularly hate the characters introduced in the past decade. They keep going on about Disney shows given to characters  whose comics run ended in a relatively short time compared to Spider-Man since the 60's or the best loved X-Men team of the 80s

That's a shame,  especially when you think back to the start of the MCU, making stars out of C/D list characters.

When Reacher was running towards the ascending helicopter, I sincerely wondered if we were going to see him pull a Captain America from The Winter Solider-style grab.

I just laughed because he had a funny looking run.

I was quite satisfied with the ending,  I got my helicopter payoff, they tied up all the loose ends. I love that they gave the money to help out the friends/family, choked up a little at donating to the animal shelter.

    Who hates the source material?

Apologies for the delay, I kept forgetting to reply because of work.

MCU or Hollywood in general? The people that did The Witcher hated the books, which seems crazy to me, especially if you pitch the project but, maybe that was Netflix finding the wrong show runner.

MCU wise, I guess Hate might have been too strong of a word as I don't legitimately know or have heard that they hate the comics. I do think some of the recent writers/directors/show runners shit on the source material.

I'm not a purist, it doesn't have to be exactly like the comics, especially since comics retcon their stories all the time. All they have to do is honor the spirit which, is what the earlier show runners seemed to do better, IMO.

Maybe when they were smaller and Disney wasn't milking the cash cow there was more control, I don't know. Just lately MCU went from mostly great/entertaining movies with a few duds sprinkled in to a boat load of crap with the occasional gem found in the muck (No Way Home, GotG Vol 3, Moon Knight, Loki S2 and Hawkeye).

Obviously, this is just my opinion

When I see the original Avengers movie, I see the comic book characters come to life.  I don't really see that anymore in the Marvel movies.

They went from writer/directors who loved the comics to (in some cases) people who actively hate the source material.  Of course that seems to be a problem in general amongst the Hollywood crowd.

When Disney bought FOX I swore MCU would finally give me my X-Men. Now I'm worried they'll screw up just like FOX. At least I have X-Men 97 to look forward too.

I figure Reacher just has an age and lower rank restrictions. That Dixon was there offering and he couldn't touch was the few times he would be frustrated.  I bet if Neagley was also a Major who would have also held the feeling for her and would be first to volunteer to be her therapy surrogate.

Not sure, he was like a little puppy with Dixon in the flashback.  He jumped up to move something out of her way and stuff. Nit to mention in the present he was hesitant to talk about Roscoe in front of Dixon.

I think Reacher has feelings for her, as much as he is capable.  He is most likely a sociopath and didn't really seem emotionally broken up over his brother (that I remember) he did seem to feel something for his mother in the flashback.

  9. Man Reacher really had a thing, for Dixon, she might be the only woman he feels/felt something for. I can't tell if Dixon dies or just decides she wants more and, Reacher is a Nomad so they won't work in the end.

  10. This was my least anticipated show and I was a hard pass when it was announced.  However,  the first episode was pretty good.

Weirdly enough I'm routing for Kingpin even though he's the baddie.

Nice to see the real Dare Devil show up.

There were rumors that season 4 was being redeveloped as a movie. With a movie confirmed and season 4 not confirmed many sites are interpreting this to mean no season 4. Although that we create a looong gap and they could easily film season 4 and the movie back-to-back making it hard for anyone to confirm what is happening eta: Deadline is reporting that season 4 is also in development. 🤷‍♀️

Yeah in the article AnimeMania linked to it said S4 was in development. I guess it's legit if Deadline is reporting the same thing.

Favreau created the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian,” which follows a helmet-wearing bounty hunter (played by Pedro Pascal) who starts the show on the run to protect a young, adorable alien named Grogu, better known by fans as Baby Yoda. It is unclear where the upcoming film will fit into the timeline of the live-action series, which has aired three seasons and is currently in development on the fourth.

  12. OK so we're getting S4 of the Mandalorian and then they're going to springboard to movies?

I remember reading something about the plan to created a cinematic universe based around the Mandalorian shows (Ahsoka, Boba, Mandalorian, etc). I guess The Mandalorian and Grogu (bad title) is the start.

Don't mean to nitpick but I find it hard to believe they could've held off that motorcycle gang so easily, especially the two women against the men. Seemed more of a TV moment to me.

I actually thought they did a reasonable job showing the women fighting the men. They both struggled, Neagley got hurt and, Dixon almost got killed until she used her Stiletto to take down her opponent.

He was warned, Reacher wants to throw him out of one. You  would think he wouldn't get near a helicopter.

That is true. I fully expect pay off on that one

  15. I just assumed it was because Langston was a coward and, was more concerned with saving his own ass over attempting to get Reacher even with the helicopter and gunners.

More evidence is piling on that Swan might be dirty, which just makes me continue to think he'll end up actually being innocent somehow.

I had the same thought,  I'm now thinking he was deep undercover and got caught.  I'm 50/50 on him being dead...like can't they just have us thumb and eyeball on ice...maybe that's more fictional than realistic.

I'm loving Russo, the show does a good job of bringing on antagonistic cops that end up working with Reacher. Russo is the total opposite of Finely and yet both are awesome.

  17. I can't tell if dropping them all on a Tuesday is a burner or faith. Also the fact that it's only 5 episodes makes me think it's just dumping a crap show in January.  Unless those 5 episodes are 1 hour long episodes like the Netflix Marvel Shows.

I generally had no interest in this after Hawkeye but, the promos look good and, if this is D+ trying to bring in/honor the R rated Netflix Series I'm willing to give it a look.

I thought it had been shown to be a weapons sale. But I only half watch this so may have missed things and made an assumption.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I think there may have been a conversation between Robert Patrick and the comic reading assassin but, I can't remember

BUT I am still thinking something is off with O'Donnell. I just can't put my finger on it, especially when he said he gave his kids his burner cell. Was that just to show how dedicated he is to his family? It seemed like poor judgment on his part

Good point, something felt off by that scene as well. It's possible he could be revealed to be a traitor.

  20. The ladies looked fantastic,  it was wonderful seeing Finley again. I'm guessing that's movie TV then book.

I'm guessing Swan isn't bad, they won't let Reacher be wrong but, I'm not sure if he's dead.

I can't tell if Dixon dies by the end or if Reacher/Dixon just part ways. They're obviously in to each other but, Reacher is a Nomad and for some reason seems impossible to settle down.

I wonder if the 650 at 100K isn't money but distance or speed something?

Pam and Archer going off into the unknown together to wreck shop is the best ending in the history of television.

They're my favorite part of the show, I love their friendship.

I'm curious about the Rwst, I guess Lana gets to hire Cheryl, Cyril and Krieger back to help track down Archer.

This was a fitting send off, I'm glad FX gave us an Archer Movie to wrap everything up.

I still have no idea why Zara was added in the final season.
