Really good episode, the gym owner seemed like a nice guy so I never saw that coming, and that's a good thing!

Same I wondered if the fighter was involved but, the trainer caught me by surprise which is nice.

I liked this episode,  I like that we're getting more interactions with the team and that team members are interacting without Colter.

  2. I agree that using Galactus now is a huge waste, it's something to build up to. Unless we don't get Galactus only the Herald. Similar to how we only got hints of Thanos in Avengers 2012 and  Guardians had Ronin working for Thanos.

Or maybe The Herald and Galactus are the impetus for what brings Fantastic Four from their Universe, into the MCU?

  3. Isn't that his girlfriend? Pretty sure she does become a Herald in some AU. I wonder if this is a sign that Fantastic Four aren't from the 60s in MCU but another universe altogether?

I kind of thought they'd have the FOX universe as a single Universe but, it's totally possible they are playing at F4-Univer and X-Universe,  Sony-Spiderverse and MCU

The TL;DR version of this: I don't think Omega is Force sensitive. I think she could trained to use the Force though.

Omega like all clones isn't force sensitive but, I believe she's a unique clone which they can use as the basis to clone Palpatine and, he can keep his access to The Force.

I totally forgot about Ventress being in this season, so I was quite excited when she showed up.

  5. I think this was the weakest episode so far. I really wanted to like it because, horses but, found some of the scenes just dumb. I did like the divorcing owners though.  The "money" guy was so one note. I also didn't see any chemistry between Colter and Billie but, that's usually the way with real life couples, there's no onscreen heat

Thing is, I am not Superhero fatigued at all...I just don't appreciate that Marvel is now doing all the things I hated about the DCEU

I agree with this, I think Marvel spread themselves thin and it compromised the quality of each product/platform.

IMO the reason is that they had too many balls in the air, desperately trying to keep a Connected Cinematic Universe while pumping out more product to fill theaters and give D+ content.

  7. I feel like that article is exaggerating a but, they added 25 million to the budget. Both movies were promoted so it's not like the media expenses weren't factored in for Afterlife.

If you go by the Rule of Thumb for Box Office it's 2.5x the Budget, 187M is the breakeven for Afterlife and 250 for Frozen Empire. Afterlife was a mild success, Frozen Empire might track the same.

Yes, we did. He was in the dystopian future in the “Days of Future Past”  and then as the leader of the X-Factor in “Cold Comfort” where Havok and Cyclops were fighting, along with Bobby/Iceman. But no direct “meet” with Ororo and Forge.

That's right, I totally forgot about that. Hopefully we'll get a Forge/Ororo meet up in X-Men-97

  9. Oh joy, love triangle. I wonder if we'll get AoA Rogue/Mags/Baby?

Hmm, future Jean or Maddie? Or hey, maybe this Jean was Maddie all along.

Storm losing her powers was in the comics, also saving another (Rogue) IIRC. I was hoping we'd get Forge, love him and, Forge/Ororo. I can't remember if he was introduced in X-Men 90s cartoon.

Magneto's suit is hysterical, I can't take it seriously

  10. I don't understand the negative reviews I thought this was a good film. A few laughs, some great character moments and, they had a compelling story. They may have telegraphed the ending a bit. However, I prefer that to no setup or a story that doesn't make sense.

If I had a complaint it was focusing so much on Phobe again. I came away from this movie feeling really bad for Trevor, who is a good hearted, brave kid that is pretty much ignored by his entire family.

Given where the story is likely going (and their fondness for sticking pretty closely to the source material) it had to be Nathan.  No reason to shoehorn Rachel into Nathan's role just for the heck of it.

I know, I know but, I've always had a fondness for Maddie Pryor.

  12. I've only finished episode 1 I have mixed feelings, sometimes that art work is great and then sometimes it's meh.

I loved thar we got Decosta but, I wish he didn't sound so American. I recall him being Venezuelan and, I remember him having an accent or I gave him one in my readings.

I forgot how much I hated Wolverine being so hung up on Jean. As much as I don't like Jean/Scott they are clearly OTP.  Gambit/Rogue didn't bother me as much as they used to. Maybe they can tone down the angst. Of course with Magneto being in the House they could be setting up a Love Triangle (I know she got together with Magneto in AoA and pretty sure she was with Joseph/Magneto too).

I liked Scott using his Optic blasts to propel him around and, even slow his decent from the plane crash.

Storm being so preachy didn't match comics storm (that I remember) but, did match 90s cartoon storm so I'll give it a pass.

I definitely didn't like that Jean is having a son (Nathan S or Nate G) should have been Rachel.

  13. They're trying really hard to make Amber likable after last season. I can't tell if they're redeeming her for the inevitable betrayal or death.  At this point I'm just waiting for Mark/Eve which they keep hinting at. I just hope they don't get together while Mark is still with Amber or hung up on Amber.

I honestly thought Rex was dead after episode 5, especially since he had that great moment with Eve. He was a total asshole last season; only reason I didn't hate him is because everyone called him on his shit, constantly.  I was able to nod and. say yeah what an asshole.  I was surprised Rae survived, it did feel like a cop out that Rae and Rex survived.

Nice seeing Allen the Alien again. I guess they plan to redeem Nolan, I have no idea how I feel about that.

  14. Wow, Kate and Rae are dead and Rex is very close to being killed. Did not expect S2.5 to start like that.

I feel really bad for Debbie, she's certainly got the short end of the stick, having to care for Nolan's son.

Can't it be both? Personally, I am superhero-fatigued to the point that even when something good came along, I probably wouldn't watch it.

It absolutely can be both but, IMO the constant repeat of Super Hero Fatigue just screams Disney/Marvel spin and since entertainment media are little more than PR machines for the Industry, all I hear is Disney trying to control the narrative...our shows/movies aren't crap, we haven't gotten lazy and, taken the audience's goodwill for granted, it's just fatigue, it happens...blah blah blah.

Yes, we already talked about this article three weeks ago. It's on this very page near the top.

And I still resent how they keep trying to frame this as superhero fatigue instead of audience rejecting crap products

Inferno is so crazy and I know people love Maddie Pryor but man that's a gigantic mess so I could see them play this out as Jean having Nathan and them having to send him to the future and, boom, there's Cable

People love Maddie? I always thought I was along in loving that character.

OMG the writing on the original show was SO much better.

Looking back I'm always amazed at how good it was and, how well it held up over time.

I'm willing to give the reboot a chance to grow since it took the original a few years to get find it's groove, went through 2 clerks and 2 Defense Attorneys, not to mention 2 bailif's 😔

I enjoyed this episode,  it's amazing to me how easily Brent Spider-Man got back into Bob Wheeler as if no time has passed.

I don't  believe that at all, he probably decided he would go down anyways and if she's free she'll put money on his books.

Yeah, the evidence is pretty overwhelming, IMO. Not sure if that one lady was part of the defense team or just put there to offer "expert" defense techniques but, she was annoying.  I kept rolling my eyes at her defense/excuses.  🤦‍♀️

and the other is Jane from Deadwood.

OMG. I didn't realize that, kept saying I think I know her from somewhere.

I liked this episode, the supporting characters are developing but, I have to imagine it's difficult to develop a report when 90% of the they're not in the same scene/set.

I can't support Colter/Rennie, they're kind of dull, no spark.

It might change an aspect of Children of Dune, but Villeneuve isn't planning to make that one anyway.

I think it would change a big aspect but I also didn't read Children of Dune, I stopped at Dune Messiah.

Alia isn't born, so by implication it's been less than nine months since the initial Harkonnen assault.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I don't like it, causes problems with the Dune Messiah and Children of Dune, IMO.
