I will forgive this episode most of it's many flaws because Gabrielle Anwar (Mrs Burn Notice) was also in Press Gang - a late super low-budget late-80s-early-90s UK teen drama set in a newspaper office which my friends and I were obsessed with and I love to this day. I don't think ever gained any sort of traction in the US but it had a cult following in Australia. It was one of the first things Steven Moffat (Doctor Who) ever did and it was so so great and I give anyone who was in it a pass on most things they did later - including making out with a cold-sorey Brandon Walsh. Also we do see Trisha again - at the Senior Breakfast when they screen that terrible show-footage video of the many loves of Brandon's life, I think she's the one he flashes back to when someone asks who he remembers most?

And with that the summer episodes are over - thank god! I remember loving the summer episodes as a tween but they've been surprisingly tedious. Too much braying, not enough anything else. Now how long until they're exchanging eggs and having U4EA slipped into their drinks?

I never understood the timing in Steve's story. His mother told him he was adopted six months ago - and when his birthday rolls around it gets to him, and it's his birthday? How many birthdays has he had in six months? (Also I feel like if the show started on the first day of school and now it's Spring, so six months ago he and Kelly were broken up and barely speaking so when did he tell her? I don't know. It just never worked for me.)
