    Matches.

She clearly stated she remembered how to make them theoretically.  Bree invents nothing in the entire series, she just brings knowledge backwards in time and adapts to the materials present. She is an engineer, not an inventor.

He was impressed that Bree invented something- he loves it when those women invent things- obviously more than her family.

    What'd she invent?

  3. I just rewatched this episode, and it reinforced my thought that Richard Rankin is likely the best craftsman on the series.  Did he win an Emmy for this episode?  If not, he should have.  My God.  The poor man is saddled with Sophie.

  4. Yennefer can die in a fire.  What is seen, cannot be unseen Geralt.  She was going to sacrifice a child. She even admits it with "I didn't know who she was....!" Meaning "If she wasn't who she was, you bet your ass."  Then again, we knew this about Yen from The Be-Eeling.

  5. Let's see.  Primarily due to the actors, Thom Merrillin is my favorite character so far.  Then Perrin. Followed by Nynaeve. Then Mat.

The guy playing Lan can stay for the pretty.

Everyone else can go hop in a trolloc cookpot.

  6. The diversity casting is really bothering me in the way it's being used. The books went very far out of their way to give so many different regions rich, deep, cultures. From customs, to politics, to physical characteristics, to food, to fashion, to music. The forced blend everywhere is very distracting, especially in places that are supposed to be backwater, out of the way places that no one has come to or left since The Breaking. There would have been no less diversity in this series given that it spans the entire globe, had they just let the cultures be what they are in the books.

She's got a tiny part in "Another Woman's Son" and even in that small role, she really is just a bad actress.

This is just so scary realizing how front and center her and Roger become in the series.  They needed someone who was as talented as Catriona to take on the female lead role.

I wanted to, too. But he's chaotic good, so I trust he isn't an anti vaxxer!

As are most anti-vaxxers.  Just because they believe differently than you doesn't make their motivation any less pure or well intentioned.  Being good and misguided/stupid are perfectly capable of coexistence.

As for the show, Tony Danza was a good guess, but he can definitely sing.  Holy cow has he aged badly though.

She died of cancer, a terrible end for her and her family.   Readers felt abandoned, and angry that she had to go through that.  Horrible for family, horrible for her fans.  No, she never owed us anything, but it was a shock to know that last book was never going to be written.  Literally, no closure.

Robert Jordan.  Diana shouldn't feel invincible.  He wasn't that old.   Git 'er done.

Can anyone explain to me why Sam's profile on RottenTomatoes does not mention Outlander?  It even mentions the fact that he "auditioned numerous times for Game of Thrones, but was never cast in the series."  THAT gets a mention but his multi-year starring role in a hugely popular, award-winning TV series gets no mention at ALL?

I say again . . . WTF?  Does Sam even HAVE a publicist?  If he does, they suck.

Maybe he doesn't want it there and doesn't want to get typecast.

    The focus on the orange

If you've ever been in healthcare, you'll know that you learn to give shots with an orange as it's thickness and resistance feels quite similar to giving shots to a human or animal.  Which is how Marsali offed the Brown guy as she was learning to use a syringe.  I enjoyed the oranges.

True grief is known in the quiet places.  The showers, the bathtubs, the closets, the back yard, the corners, the hallways, the kitchens, the floors, the cover of night and the million other places where no one will see.  And then you get up.  And get on with it.  And, if you do it well, no one sees.

I did have some moments where I wondered:  how did Roger make the 'sled'?

The 'sled' is (theoretically) a travois, and a regular part of Native American toolsets.  He undoubtedly learned to build one when he was forced to as the Indians' slave.  Interestingly, they were often pulled by by a dog(face).  It's made wrong, but they tried.

Oh, I hope that's coincidental.  Because if it's not, it's incredibly lame. But I wouldn't put it past the current crop of showrunners.

It's classic Weiss and Benioff.  That shit's endemic out there in Holly-out-of-touch.  "It'll make the Roger becomes a minister plot line so much more!"

    Barf.

The massacre and tea party are still years away enough that this isn't likely to make much of a ripple.

The American revolution kicked off at Lexington and Concorde and had nothing to do with tea.  The government was attempting to confiscate people's guns.
