Not to speak for @Neveragain but I took it as an opinion that, for Neveragain (and me!), Yiddish just feels the best in certain situations. Sometimes my friend and I like to go above and beyond and imitate her Jewish grandpa by prefacing things with "What?! You want I should..." (complete with attempts to mimic Grandpa's voice, which is truly reminiscent of [or inspration for?] a sitcom character's).

As a word nerd, I really dig your post. It's kind of what I wish I could say to people who fault non-native--English speakers for not being perfect (which is moot because it's not like those people would listen/understand anyway).

There's a reason English is one of the most difficult languages to learn and I don't fault any non-native English speaker for not mastering it.  But Teresa gets no passes from me.  Her parents moved here when her mother was pregnant with her so she has literally lived here her entire life.  She was educated in American schools.  And the final nail in my judgment coffin of her is that her brother was raised in the same house as her and doesn't seem to have any of these issues with the language.   Teresa is just dumb and hides behind her parents' immigrant status.  Kind of like Peggy from BH.  The woman has lived here her entire life, has a degree in ENGLIGH from University yet pretends to not know about very common American sayings.  It's absurd.

Melissa has ricocheted from a wannabe pop singer, to an "author" - now to a boutique owner - who is being sued by her ex-partner for fraud.   Astute posers???  No.  People here HATE Teresa - so it's very bias.

For starters, it's "biased" not "bias."  Secondly, Teresa has also been an author, wine distributor, restaurant owner and god knows what else.  And trying to throw stones at Melissa for being the subject of a lawsuit (merit of said lawsuit unknown), while Teresa has literally served a prison sentence for fraud is rich.

Huh?  Teresa never asked Joe and Melissa to help with her kids.  She just wanted her brother to spend more time with their father.  When Joe Giudice first went away, Teresa got help (i.e., driving them around) from his side of the family.  The kids were younger and Gia didn't drive.

That poster was responding to YOUR post where you were saying that Melissa and Joe never help out with

Tre's kids.  It was literally like, 4 posts back.

I have my own SIL issues but I have my nieces over all the time for sleepovers. No one ever has my boys over. Ever. Does Teresa ever have her neices/nephew over? Yet Melissa is expected to help out with Teresa's kids all the time? Why? I fail to see what Teresa is so busy doing? Her kids are old enough to be in school all day so other than after school activities I fail to see what Teresa is struggling with. Sounds like Nonno helps drive kids around. Gia at least is old enough to drive herself.

The video montage of Teresa and Joe facing their prison terms did make me feel sorry for the kids but she's got no right to play the victim card and the "bad Aunt and Uncle" card when she failed as a mother to those children. That's not Joey or Melissa's fault.

Anyone who has time to work out twice a day every day can't be THAT busy.

But Melissa has a reputation of being a gold digger.  Look at how many "careers" she has gone through.  Remember she never got along with Joe and Teresa's parents.  I still think it was lousy of her and Joe to go on vacation on the anniversary's Antonio's death.

ETA:   What gives you the impression that Melissa help look after her nieces?  She never did that, regardless of what Joe Gorga promised.  It was Joe Giudice's family that stepped in.

Gold digger? How exactly are you defining that term? They've been married 15 years, they have three kids and seem to have a happy, affectionate marriage.  Where is "gold digger" coming from?  Because Joe makes decent money?  So is Jen a gold digger? Marrying someone who makes a decent living doesn't make someone a gold digger.  That's a MAJOR stretch.

And Melissa has gone through as many "careers" as Tre or, frankly, any other housewife.  She's no different than any of them when it comes to vanity projects.

Doesn't make the euphemism any less of a real thing outside of Teresa-world.

It's all about context, tho.  The original poster was calling out Andy for catering to Teresa with his "away" talk.  It might be a euphemism in many communities and cultures but not Andy's, as far as I know.   So my insisting on saying "away" instead of "in jail/prison" he IS cow towing to Teresa and her desires, as it's not something he would normally say.  The whole reason he's saying it is to appease her.  In fact, I believe she's corrected him in the past when he HAS said "jail."  We're not dealing with someone like Delores saying it, where your argument would make total sense.

It reminds me so much of Mama Joyce from RHoA. Todd's mother had flown in for the wedding. Mama Joyce had been slandering Todd and his family for months. After meeting for the first time, Mama Joyce has the unmitigated gall to say to Todd's mother, "I heard that your deceased husband was a pimp and you were one of his prostitutes." Todd's mother is of course dumbfounded. She responds, "If you think you can say that about me and my family, you're messing with the wrong woman! Bitch!" Mama Joyce then goes running to Kandi and says, "THAT woman called me a bitch. All we were doing was talking about our families."

That's the exact type of ridiculous garbage person Teresa is. Joyce is a manipulative selfish user. I wouldn't be surprised if Teresa found everything Mama Joyce has done to be perfectly reasonable and acceptable. Blink. Blink. Blink. "Whut? She's her mother. Kandi shouldn't go against her family."

Joyce is one of the few people I dislike more than Teresa.

I can speak for Queens too and you're right!  It was still stupid you don't go breaking glasses and that's actually what I like about  Dolores. Jennifer was out of line and glass breaking can be dangerous so though Dolores may not like Melissa and buts in too much, she didn't let what Jennifer did slide just because it was Melissa. She even told Jennifer she needs to apologize at Marges fundraiser. Teresa wouldn't have done that.  If someone was drunkenly out of line with Jackie Teresa wouldn't care about right or wrong in the moment because she doesn't like Jackie. She barely cared Jen broke the glass at Melissa, because it was Melissa anx because she happens to like Jennifer so too bad if she's out of line with other people.

That's what bothers me the MOST about "left couch."  They preach about "old school values" but those values tend to only apply to people they like.  If the abhorrent behavior is directed towards someone they don't care for, suddenly forget all of the "old school values" they constantly brag about.  The thing with the glass is really one of the only times Delores actually called someone out for behavior directed towards someone she doesn't care for.

Apparently hypocrisy is a very "old school value."

I'm actually surprised at Nonno.  Even more surprised that they respond to it.  This seems like such a manipulative way to keep your family close, it's weird.   You never come over = we had dinner 4 days ago.   Bruh.  You haven't spoken to your sister in 40 years, relax.

That's really something, because weren't they getting along at the time? I would consider that an insult if I were Melissa. Of course, she was probably relieved she didn't have to participate in visitation!

All Teresa DOES is insult Melissa, then she has the audacity to be offended that Melissa doesn't show blind loyalty to her.  Why WOULD she?  Teresa is horrible to her! It's kind of amazing to watch.  The women has less than zero self awareness and is such a damn narcissist.

  11. I was LIVING for Joe Gorga saying that Juicy was a lazy bum who got by scamming other people and that's why he spent so much time with Nonno.   Teresa couldn't even say anything about that shit because it's TRUE.  When you don't work an honest day in your life, you've got lots of time to sit around and drink with your alcoholic father in law.

We got a lot of interesting background into on Jennifer tonight. She definitely slept with someone before Bill. But then wouldn't have sex with HIM until married? Insanity.

It seems she only gained her mother's approval via her husband. As much as I don't like Jennifer, that's pretty sad. And may partially explain why she is so the opposite with HER kids.

I don't understand justifying treating your kids badly as a "cultural" thing, as Jennifer did about the way her mother treated her growing up.   I mean, if her own mother was treated badly by her mother and it sucked, why would she repeat that with her own children, knowing how badly it made her feel as a kid?  To me, that makes it worse.  It's not like it makes the children end up "better."  Putting someone's sole value in who they marry is gross.  Certainly not a cultural belief I would brag about.

And jealous of Melissa trying to find out if she has another sister! I’m beginning to think she not only has the IQ of a turnip, but is psycho as well. No wonder she and Danielle are big buds. Peas in a pod.

I loved how Andy told her "you said something nice, then took a right turn and became negative" and she's like "how so?"  Melissa is right, you can't argue with her.  Teresa is straight up delusional.

I haven't read through this whole page yet, but I'm hoping this post was made before the info came out that she's...a bit of a psycho, if that info has been disclosed yet.   Apparently her own family doesn't speak to her after she threatened to murder their mother and she mocks and damns disabled children on facebook.   Real sweet woman, there.

We don't know. All assumptions. Ppl say Matt will kill someone due to his anger mngt issues. Ppl say he is a White Supremist due to his tattoos. Ppl say he will never work an honest job due to lack of having one in the past. It's all speculation here. And the show isn't a documentary.

I don't disagree.  That's why I specifically used to word "probably" in my post.   Race coming into play in their decision to arrest Mike is also pure speculation. Considering no one here is psychic (to my knowledge) it's all speculation.

Bc "racial sentencing disparity" is a huge problem in this country. And the scene where Michael was getting arrested made the person think of that problem.

I'm sure if Matt had been late to his parole appointments a few times, then cruised in 10 minutes after a 5 hour window driving like a lunatic on a suspended license, they'd probably take him in too.

Jackie--with her JD from Fordham of all places (no shade, I am actually very impressed) messed up by saying that she had no preconceived notions about the show, after which she admitted that she was a fan enough of Teresa's to wait on line at a bookstore to meet her.  I liked Jennifer (and even Gina from OC) owning that they've watched the show before.  If Jackie was a fan enough of Teresa's to wait on line to meet her, she clearly had a notion--positive, I'm assuming--about at least one cast member.  The fact that this notion occurred prior to joining the show renders it "preconceived."  All hail to the great lawyer...I guess until you apply logic to her statements.

I noticed that when Teresa repeatedly stated that it was her show and that everyone who went against her was gone (!!!), Andy never took the opportunity to correct her.  Fucking amazing start to the reunion.  I knew God had a plan when He allowed me to sit through the three-part trite that was the Married to Medicine reunion.

I am team right couch--and it took me about half the season to make the switch, but now I am firmly planted there--for many reasons.  Probably too many to get into in this post, but I will say:

Melissa, I see you over there.  The one whose first words uttered on this show were literally: "I tend to be very spoiled.  So what?"  Now you're gonna rag on Jennifer?  To quote Britney Spears, "get back." To quote me, "get back, you make me sick rehabbing your image every year.  At one time you were an Evangelist for Jesus, now you don't even know what a confirmation is, you lied about your obvious rhinoplasty (and God knows what else) numerous time to the fans and your boss, Andy, alike. I believe that you own a store about as much as I believe you have sex every other night.  Stop playing at being Jennifer Lopez, when you are really Fiona Gallagher from Shameless.  Go back to your model home."

Margaret, was anything that Jennifer said untrue?  You can't, on the one hand, flippantly call someone's brother's future wife a "mail order bride" and then get in your feelings when someone characterizes your mother as "a home wrecker," when that person gained that information from something you proudly spouted on camera and in front of all of the women.  Also, put on your big girl pants and go against Teresa.  At least Jackie and Melissa are willing to do that, but you're still kissing her ass.  Why?  Coward.

Dolores, I find you boring, and it is simply untrue that Teresa's reading comprehension is fine.  Teresa's speaking comprehension doesn't even pass muster.  You're wrong.  But I did like how she said her family was more important to her than being skinny.  True story.

Jennifer does not appear smart, but I really appreciated that she came to the reunion loaded for bear.  She, unlike Jackie, seems determined to hang on to her spot, and I appreciate the effort she must have put in (I imagine one of the rooms in the mansion having walls made of white board, onto which she could plot what to say, and it worked).  She had like three of four words or phrases to which she kept coming back ("taboo" and "stigma" are the only ones that come to mind at the moment), and she kept at her points.  She never got distracted.  She admitted that the mail order bride comment hit home because it was close to the truth.  She took responsibility for a lot of things, like Oklahoma, but no one ever got her off of her talking points (which is what a politician needs to be able to do to win).  Call me ridiculous, but I floved her "rainbow" analogy.  I think she is just what this cast needs to survive.  New blood that is going to be "Jersey" and say, "Andy, if you just saw a great fucking rainbow and someone else said they saw a rainbow, wouldn't you tell them you just saw the greatest fucking rainbow?'  I mean, she's not a smart lady, but she is gold for this show IMO.

Teresa--I am on her side as of this moment.  It's just that everyone else is behaving worse, but they're dressing it up better.  What I will say is that she definitely meant what she said when she asked Jackie if Jackie was hungry.  Nice try in eleventh hour manipulation, Jen, but Teresa did not mean to ask if Jackie was thirsty.  IMO Teresa was going after Jackie's former eating disorder and engaging in clear mean girl middle school tactics when she did so.  Am I going to weep over it?  Do i care about Jackie and her tummy tuck and her article and her non-stoyline and her kinda nice (but not really nice) home in Tenafly?  Not really.  I don't care enough about her feelings to feel bad if someone comes after an old eating disorder, but make no mistake, that is what Teresa did, and she did it with premeditation.

I would be sorta titillated if Caroline came back.

So...she gives a nasty middle school low blow and that's your reasoning for siding with her?  I'm confused.   I mean, there's a reason NO ONE is on team right couch.   Do you also think Danielle is in the right?  Just wondering.

That seems a bit bigoted to me.  Like, "YOU shouldn't have nice things because I DON'T."  It's like someone saying, "how can you afford....when I can't? wahhh, wahhh."  Aww, do you want some cheese with your whine?

Why would it be bigoted?  Just because Michael is black?  So now every time a person of color is arrested it's because the arresting officers are bigots? Interesting.  Because being jealous of someone doesn't make you bigoted.  That's a very strong accusation to make so you'd definitely wouldn't want to toss it around so easily.   If you simply meant jealous, not bigoted (those two are very separate things) is it because you think the parole officers are mad because they can't go driving around with a camera crew behind them and they arrested him because of that? That's a bit of a stretch.  I think it's much more likely they're being tired of a parolee being late to his appointments after being granted a five HOUR window and on top of that, being arrogant enough to cruise in behind the wheel of a car when he can't legally drive.   Seems a bit more likely.

I mean, color me shocked (no snark) that ten minutes late is taken that seriously, even if it wasn’t his first disregard of the rules. I had no idea parole was that stringent...or maybe that was racially motivated?

I don't know if this has already been answered, but they also said he had a FIVE HOUR window. That means, he could've reported any time between 1 and 6.  So what does he do?  Roll up at 6:10, driving, which he is not supposed to be doing (I'm guessing he doesn't have a license.)   And it wasn't the first time.  I don't blame them for taking him in and I don't think race had anything to do with it.  He's only been out a few weeks and has already screwed up twice.

Teresa is the one who always stoops to physical violence.  Table flip, shoving Andy down, grabbing his cards and doing whatever to Jackie that we haven't seen yet.   Teresa has the emotional maturity of a 12 year old boy and the intelligence of a five year old.

Teresa IS always and forever irrational.  She cannot understand analogies when they are applied to her to point out some failing on her part.  If someone does something to her and she does the same thing back, it's only the other person who is wrong.  She is incredibly limited mentally - has difficulty getting concepts - can never see the bigger picture - only sees situations in an emotional, personal way.  How can anyone deal rationally with someone like that?

My favorite was when she called Jackie a "white trash bitch" for not talking to her sister.  So what does that make your father, Tre?  Or Dina, your BFF?  OR YOURSELF FOR A PERIOD OF TIME WITH JOE?   She's such a goddamn moron.
