One of the kids was (relatively) smooth and natural, but the other sounded like he was reading lines from a book, which made every scene with the two of them feel awkward. Perhaps it was a mistake to pick the script with two child roles and hand it to a first-time director unless the young River Phoenix and Haley Joel Osmet were your stars. Link to comment
