S04.E02: Don't You Wanna Be Obama?

Recommended Posts

Quote

Spencer becomes immersed in a marketing controversy; still smarting from their feud in Miami, Charles agrees to give Ricky a chance, against his better instincts.

Russell Brand is still annoying.

Dwayne Johnson still rocks a suit like nobody else.

Rob Corddry does an excellent job acting like he's high (with makeup effects)!

Man, that was bad. The only part that was about football was Charles and Ricky acting like children.

Speaking of, after laughing at the silly surfing competition (do grown ups actually care at all about that?), we see surfer dude raise his fist because the ad featuring him depicts him as too black? I think that was his issue, it was hard to be sure. If it was, social media would be all over a misrepresentation of color by a company. Let Twitter do the work.

Not that I cared about any of that.

One more ep, and if this show doesn't return to football and adult behavior, I'm done. Do you hear me, NFL? I'm one of a small group of fans who watch. You're killing this show. because I am sure you're behind the ridiculous turn to an "extreme sports agency" away from football. Just like you killed the far superior ESPN show Playmakers, because it was too real for you.

That's true in and of itself, but he doesn't look good.  He's way too bulky (and BTW, vest and trousers don't equal a suit).  Suits need to hang to a certain extent to look good, and I smell what The Rock's cookin', and it's stuffed sausage.

And okay, TBTB don't like Trump.  I get it, and I agree, but I don't need TTD's t-shirts beating me over the head with it.  And is "Shut the fuck up, TTD" or some variation thereof supposed to be this season's new catch phrase?  I don't need to be beat over the head with that, either.

OMG! I loved Playmakers. The No Fun League killed an excellent show.

There doesn't yet seem to be a thread created for the next episode after this one. Which seems appropriate, as it was that disinteresting. Russell Brand blowing the budget on a skateboard video? Who. the Hell. Cares.  The only football was Ricky blowing a tryout, and as much time was spent on his girlfriend getting mad at him as on the tryout.

I'm out, show. I don't know why you are getting so far away from football, but you killed whatever you had. My DVR has erased you, as have I.
