DollEyes October 7, 2017 Share October 7, 2017 (edited) My verdict: Ryan Gosling did a good job, breaking and all. However, "Nerlins" aside, the opening monologue about Gosling "saving jazz" did go on too long and IMO would have been funnier if either his other La La Land co-star John Legend, Harrison Ford or Moonlight director Barry Jenkins showed up and said "Bitch, please." The "Woke Jeans" sketch, spoofing liberal identity politics, was funny, as was IMO, Gosling's breaking during the Alien Abduction sketch. Given that Gosling broke in the original sketch, I expected him to do it again. Because it can never, be said enough, "Papyrus." JZL October 8, 2017 Share October 8, 2017 It's too bad we can't do a "breaking/corpsing" poll on here. Maybe I'm somewhere in the middle. As a kid I'd love it when Tim Conway made Harvery Korman crack up. Apparently, Lorne Michaels watched the exact same thing and hated it. I don't mind it so much when a host does it. When a castmember like Fallon did it, it just seemed off. Gosling did it too much, but who could blame him for at least cracking a smile in the alien sketch. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/61932-s43e01-ryan-gosling-jay-z/page/2/#findComment-3701696
Bruinsfan October 8, 2017 Share October 8, 2017 (edited) Mikey's been golden in every sketch I can recall seeing him in. I find Guy Who Just Bought a Boat desperately unfunny, but between his Eric Trump and his Connor McGregor Alex Moffat usually has me rolling on the floor.
