DisneyBoy February 4, 2017 Share February 4, 2017 (edited) Here it is - the thread where we speculate on how we would realistically like characters who are on their way out to leave the show, for now or for good! Current Candidates: Victor, Caroline and Ciara. Ciara: With her leaving in a few short months, I'm guessing they'll try to give her a happy "ending" and send her off to a good job (even though we don't know what any of her interests are, and she's still in her first year of college). The interesting part is that Theo will presumably remain on the canvas...so will they set them up as a great love yet to be consumated? I'd imagine they'd want Theo free to date...so will Claire still be with him? I feel like they will want to wrap up the Claire/Theo/Ciara triangle before she leaves. So, perhaps Claire makes a fool of herself trying to keep Theo and Ciara, rather than jump on Theo at the first opportunity, gets a good job offer. Theo, now single and wanting to get together with Ciara, decides to let her go free to pursue her dreams and have a fresh start. That way they both come off as selfless and maybe Ciara even forgives Claire before leaving so that they will stay on good terms when a recast comes in down the line. Maybe Victor steps in to help Ciara get the job, even. I imagine they'll go with something worse but...that's how I'd do it. Victor: Well it seems pretty likely that if John Aniston is still alive by the time the show ends, that will keep the character alive, but I get the sense that DOOL might last another two or three years by which point he would probably want to retire and enjoy the rest of his life with his family. Therefore, they would probably kill off Victor. After this whole Stefano debacle the show probably would be wise not to make it another murder mystery. Instead thry could opt to have Victor pass away in a more natural fashion, allowing for scenes between him and his important family members like Phillip, Maggie, Brady and Kate. Because he's been such a villain it wouldn't be out of the question for them to go with some kind of scandalous exit, but something tells me they would want to show him as much respect as possible, especially considering the way they treated Joe these last two years. Does Victor have any health conditions we've already heard about? (As a side note I'm surprised that Stefano's diabetes never factored into his demise now that I think about it...) If they really want to spice things up, they can have Victor reveal some secret on his deathbed that propels a new storyline forward just so that it isn't entirely depressing. Caroline: I'm really stumped on this one. Obviously Peggy is an iconic part of the show, but now that she has been off screen for so long and might not be in the best of health (I assume) how can they possibly write her out of the show without it being really bizarre? If she is still able to film, maybe they could do a couple of days worth of episodes of Caroline in bed and resting and people simply coming and visiting her before she passes away. I'm guessing that would be very morbid for the actress however. Still, I won't be content with her vanishing from the show for a year and then being declared dead off screen, especially when they gave themselves an out for her two years ago when she really started to suffer from the Alzheimer's symptoms Bo was trying to treat. They stupidly backpedaled on that and now they have to come up with a whole new ending for Caroline and barring some tragic accident like her dying in a fire at the Pub (which I don't see the show doing), I don't really know what other options they have except to bring her in for a few brief episodes and tie it up. I hope she would be able to speak and have lines of dialogue. I think more than anything I want to see Caroline again with Victor and Sami and Theresa and Kayla and Shawn D. So for this round, two natural deaths on the heels of bed rest and one move out of town. Edited February 8, 2017 by DisneyBoy Link to comment

methodwriter85 February 18, 2017 Share February 18, 2017 Ciara leaves...and comes back a few months later with an actress that can actually be in front of the camera and not look like she wants to hurl. Link to comment
DisneyBoy March 1, 2017 Author Share March 1, 2017 Deimos: I can definitely see how the writers might want to turn his departure from the show into a big plotline, but I would rather he was written out in a whimper, like Blanca or Mama Hernandez. I think the best we can hope for is that he's shot repeatedly and that the ensuing murder mystery - which I assume will be about him - actually focuses more on the possible suspects and where they are at in their emotional lives, rather than all about Deimos Deimos Deimos. I think it would be interesting for Philip to be the one who actually killed him, since I don't think Philip has done anything like that before and he would certainly have motive. If they bring in a new Phillip, they can tweak his characterization a bit so that he was deeply offended by Deimos hurting Maggie and Victor and also Nicole and Chloe - all characters I assume would still matter a lot to Philip. I wouldn't want to see another potentially heroic character ruined, but from what I understand, Phillip has always been rather grey and menacing. It might work. Nicole: I'm pretty pissed off with the fact that Arianne Zucker was annoyed her boyfriend got fired considering the character feels like he's still on the show and even got to film flashbacks and become a father after death in a total retcon designed, I assume, to appease Zucker. Refusing to renew her contract in protest? Give me a break. That said, if Nicole manages to work through her custody of Holly by June or July, and Eric and Jennifer are well into having their unusual romance at that point, I would hope for the writers to recognize the potential drama of Nicole waffling from being with Brady back to spontaneously consuming her passions with Eric. Nicole and Eric fans have waited far far too long to have a bone thrown their way. Why not have Nicole, in the midst of a casual relationship with Brady, unexpectedly find herself with Eric working out her issues and having a passionate roll in the hay that throws her into emotional conflict. She and Eric both enjoy it and don't regret it, but Nicole starts to feel that she can't stay with Brady if she still loves Eric on some level. So instead, she asks Eric to keep a lid on it and throws herself into some new job that offers her an out-of-town promotion. She decides to accept the promotion and leave with Holly and gently break things off with Brady because she clearly still has unresolved issues with his brother and doesn't want to hurt him by sticking around and vacillating between the two of them. It isn't a defined ending and that leaves the door open for her to return later on and have a relationship with either Eric or Brady. Heck, if Greg Vaughn isn't going to stay on the show full-time, they might as well write Eric off as leaving town with Nicole after gently ending things with Jennifer in the wake of their liaison. I'd like to think that this show could write mature adults having gentle breakups for a change. If Eric and Nicole won't leave town together, then let's at least let her leave town with her daughter and on a good note. Link to comment
FnkyChkn34 March 1, 2017 Share March 1, 2017 I think they should just have Ciara transfer colleges. Go off to Northwestern or something, and then it's easy when a new actress is recast for the character to come back. Also, it can be an excuse whenever Hope isn't around - "oh, Hope just went to Chicago to visit Ciara..." etc. 1 Link to comment
