wknt3 November 7, 2015 Share November 7, 2015 I've always thought Stuart's progression as a character was weird. When they first introduced him he was presented as a guy who had his act together. He owns a business, is friends with a celebrity (Wil Wheaton), scored a date with Penny by flirting successfully using his art skills and got "invited in for cofffee". The last few seasons he's either been presented as a loser or creepy. I think everything they've done with him has been off target. This episode was no different. I think it's because Kevin Sussman does hangdog so well that they've gone a bit overboard. And given the size of the cast now there's been less of a need to do something else and realize it works which is how character development seems to happen on the show - they take what works and run with it until something else happens to score and then they pursue that. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/33578-s09e06-the-helium-insufficiency/page/2/#findComment-1685290
