I'm not sure how I feel about this episode. I think the only thing I really loved about it was Travis, and I hope he gets some kind of deputy assistant job, or at least sidekick status. Though I am liking Mathias being a bigger part of the show, and the actor is given more to do than look disgruntled and disgusted.

I'm not sure why Vic was so mean to Travis - didn't they share a drink an episode or two back, or am I mis-remembering? And then she over-shares? I'm not liking her character much this season. I'm not sure if there's a change in her or I just don't remember.

I didn't like that Walt basically gave away too much information when talking to Darius, and put one of his victims at risk.

I'm not keen on that hot headed deputy candidate being some kind of stalker. Seems like there's conflict enough. It's pretty dark this season, though lightening up Walt a little is a good thing.

This is sounding very negative, but I do love the show. This one just didn't hit me emotionally the way the previous episodes have.

I am rooting for Travis, too.  This season seems more dark than in the past, and there isn't as much of the wonderful dry humor between Henry and Walt, so I appreciate Travis as a bit of comic relief.  I am also loving Mathias this season, especially the smile he hid from Cady as she took the stack of files from his office.

I also agree that there is a change in Vic.  I am definitely not seeing this version of Vic as Walt's love interest,

although I don't mind their relationship in the books

.   (I wasn't sure if I should spoiler bar that last part, so I played it safe.)

This episode was amazing on many levels.  At 1 hr and 9 minutes - it gave us lots of story and character moments...and beautiful scenery.

It is always a pleasure to have Billy Riggins on the screen (Travis).  It seems to be Travis's job to bring needed humor to this season.

It is good to see the writers giving Cady something more substantial to do.

It will be interesting to see how the Casino, Nighthorse, Malachi, and Matthias plotlines wind their way through this season.

I agree - I think the longer episodes allow for characters like Matthias to have more substantial things to do in the ensemble.
