Luckylyn July 29, 2015 Share July 29, 2015 Bellacourt Manor's residents brace themselves for Lillian's annual birthday meltdown, and a surprise visit from Charles Ponzi brings a new business opportunity. Meanwhile, Hortense believes she's expecting, and Peepers gets sick. This episode had so many things that were so wrong but still so hysterical. The Say Anything reference with the gramophone killed me. Hortense and the stairs cracked me up so much. I was disappointed we didn't get more Chair and Hortense scenes, but it was good to see characters like Garfield and Blanche get more screen time. 4 Link to comment
Irlandesa July 29, 2015 Share July 29, 2015 This episode had so many things that were so wrong but still so hysterical. I shouldn't admit how much I laughed at Lillian "I feel like I'm 13 (or whatever age she used)" Ponzi: No you don't. 2 Link to comment
thuganomics85 July 30, 2015 Share July 30, 2015 Yeah, I was floored (but totally laughing) over how they were actually doing those jokes about Lillian and Ponzi. This show really doesn't fear going there. I'm not a massive fan of Ben Stiller, but like Jack Black earlier, I thought they used him just enough to not find it distracting and make it work. It helps that I prefer him when he plays arrogant jackasses, compared to his more pathetic, nice guy type characters, like the one in the Meet the Parents franchise. Knew Peepers wasn't going to die, but I loved watching how it all unfolded and the idea that he's attracted to Dodo could be entertaining. Beatrice figuring out the Pyramid scheme while on drugs, was priceless. I do like that she has her moments of brilliance, even if it's drug-induced. Oh, and then this exchange: Beatrice: "You're only pretty in Massachusetts!" Lillian: (gasp) “That’s the worst thing you could ever say to a woman!” 2 Link to comment
ganesh August 1, 2015 Share August 1, 2015 Oh yeah, Zoolander >> Meet the Parents. I can't stand sad sacks. I shouldn't admit how much I laughed at Lillian "I feel like I'm 13 (or whatever age she used)" Ponzi: No you don't. 11. That was a good callback to Freud when Lillian said, "you're going to need another finger." Which is funny because she also said earlier that she's "tighter than a Jew's wallet down there." Apparently not. I did *not* see the vacuum pay off coming. Wow. I laughed so hard. 1 Link to comment

I think I've liked Ben Stiller in Zero Effect and Something About Mary. The rest of his work I haven't cared for at all. I liked him very much here and won't mind if he pops up again down the line.
