Spartan Girl June 29, 2015 Share June 29, 2015 (edited) So...did anyone see this? I did, and even though the first one was better, this wasn't too bad. The Comic Con fight in particular was hysterical. And although I am probably going to hell for this, but my brother and I did laugh at Ted and John shouting out "tragic" suggestions at the comedy improv group. Kind of disappointed about how they wrote out Mila Kunis' character the way they did just to make room for Amanda Seyfried's Cool Girl character, but Amanda was funny. Plus I loved her "Mean Ol' Moon" song. Edited June 29, 2015 by Spartan Girl Link to comment
benteen June 29, 2015 Share June 29, 2015 I saw it and I thought it was really funny. I enjoyed it like I enjoyed the first one, although I thought it dragged on way too long. There were still plenty of laughs to be had but it dragged quite a bit those final 30 minutes. I appreciate the un-PC humor and noticed quite a few Star Trek actors popping up (Michael Dorn, Nana Vistor). Ted telling Amanda Seyfried's character about who her eyes reminded her of had me howling. Link to comment

Even funnier was how Amanda didn't know who Gollum was, so John tried to cover it up by saying Gollum was a model...only to have her come face to face with him at Comic Con. "The new Superman is....Jonah Hill!" "FUCK!" Link to comment
NoWillToResist July 2, 2015 Share July 2, 2015 I enjoyed this but I agree that it felt a bit long. I haven't seen the original in ages so I didn't understand why we were paying so much attention to the janitor. Sounded like he was a holdover from the first film so I guess re-watching the first one would have been beneficial. Heh. Oh well. I think my brain exploded from the Inception-y/meta visual of Michael Dorn and Patrick Warburton dressed as Worf and The Tick respectively at Comic Con. Didn't enjoy them being bullies though. I can't remember the exact phrasing of Ted's comment to Morgan Freeman, but I remember laughing hard at it. Something about wanting to stuff a mattress with his voice and sleep on it? I also got un-PC amusement out of the increasingly horrific suggestions at the improv show. Liam Neeson was a complete surprise and totally killed his role. I'm still laughing about it. "So...if I purchase these...'Fruity Pebbles'....there won't be any trouble?" The post-credits bit with him was a lovely bookend. :) I was amazed at how many famous people were in this! benteen July 2, 2015 Share July 2, 2015 The janitor was Donny, the guy in the first film who tried to kidnap Ted. He was a big part of the first film. Kind of awkwardly placed into this one. Link to comment
NoWillToResist July 2, 2015 Share July 2, 2015 Yeah, there was enough dialogue once Ted met Donny to explain their history, but for all of the movie preceding their meeting I was all "am I supposed to know or care about who this janitor is?" Link to comment
Chas411 July 8, 2015 Share July 8, 2015 How do they write off Lori in the sequel? Is it just an off handed comment that they split? Link to comment
Spartan Girl July 9, 2015 Author Share July 9, 2015 How do they write off Lori in the sequel? Is it just an off handed comment that they split? Pretty much. John goes into a bit more detail about it later in the movie, saying that they ultimately weren't right for each other. Link to comment
Chas411 July 14, 2015 Share July 14, 2015 I actually just caught the film tonight. I enjoyed it and laughed out loud a lot. It went on for a bit too long but as far as sequels go, it was a good one. Looking back on the first movie, Lori and John were ill suited and she didn't really fit in. Amanda Seyfried's Sam was a welcome addition and I thought that she was really funny. Her and John were a good match too. Link to comment
nicepebbles October 23, 2015 Share October 23, 2015 I haven't seen this. I'm more likely to see if now if I nothing else to watch since Mila Kunis' character is not in the movie. While I found the first hilarious, my suspension of disbelief didn't extend to her character being with John. That was more unbelievable to me than a talking bear. Link to comment
