chitowngirl June 20, 2015 Share June 20, 2015 I find the episodes that make my "allergies" come out are not the boy/girl romantic ones. When the father was skyping/facetiming with the granddaughter he didn't know of; the 2 sisters whose dad died during the 9/11 attacks and found each other again when their mother passes; and Oliver's anguish on his anniversary. I need the tissues nearby. I marathoned the first 5 episodes tonight. I need to take a break! 1 Link to comment
rainsmom June 23, 2015 Share June 23, 2015 It's schmaltzy, but I still enjoy it. I definitely find my "allergies" acting up now and then. It's sweet, and I like the characters, even though they're a little pat. It does exactly what it's supposed to do! 1 Link to comment
Myrrhine December 15, 2015 Share December 15, 2015 I recently caught up on this (haven't seen all the movies yet). It may be the reason they invented the word treacly, but I still find the episodes entertaining. I kind of like the character of Oliver. So often any "old fashioned" or uptight character under 70 is a woman. It annoys me though that Norman "discovers" this random relative. He has a ton of relatives, as references in the pilot movie and first series episode at least. Link to comment
dalek January 1, 2016 Share January 1, 2016 Been enjoying the marathon currently showing on Hallmark Mysteries. I'm kind of impressed they got people like Carol Burnett as guest stars. They can occasionally overdue the quirkiness of the characters a bit, but in an era where most television dramas like to give the characters more troubles than Job, it's nice to watch a show that's basically just sweet and charming and always has something resembling a happy ending. kathyk24 January 1, 2016 Share January 1, 2016 I watched Family Reunited last night and I was crying when Oliver and Shane were reading the letters from Johnathan and Catherine. I wanted Oliver and Shane to kiss and I'm not usually a shipper. Link to comment
