The lesson is either [a] that every sitcom should have a lie detector episode or that every sitcom should have a Walton Goggins episode. It didn't rely on a gimmicky pop-culture reference for its humour, and instead focused on the characters, and how they interacted, which is really where the show's focus should be. (And this is coming from somebody who counts "Modern Warfare", "Digital Estate Planning", and "Advanced Dungeons and Dragons" among his favourites.) Link to comment
