S13.E08: 11 Chefs Compete

My thoughts on this weeks mess:

First off, the limo arrival and the bodyguards were over the top, and Sterling mugging for the camera thinking it was Obama just makes me cringe. He can't really be that dumb, can he?

But his stupidity was topped not once, but at least twice this episode. First off was Sade making a bowl of dog chow while being blissfully unaware that the other 10 chefs were preparing people dishes. BTW, what is the point of being part of a team if nobody on your team has the decency to tip you off that you shouldn't be cooking dog chow? Even worse, her dish actually looked better than a couple of the other dishes that were presented.

The winner of the HK Daily Stupidity contest, in my opinion, was Frank at Sea World. I am just amazed that a grown man, who hails from a major metropolitan area (not some yurt in the hinterlands) could be so dense and dumb as to be awestruck that dogs can be trained to perform tasks. My God, everytime he opens his mouth he comes across as someone who would look up to Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels in Dumb & Dumber as the 2 Wise Men.

I have eaten at quite a few of the various celeb chefs restaurants, in Orlando, Vegas, NY and elsewhere. While I don't expect the celeb to be there cooking my grub, I do expect competent, serious chefs to do it. As such, I don't mind paying the premium prices associated with those restaurants, and for the most part, have been very satisfied. That being said, there is nothing about this crew of losers, morons, jerks, and racial caricatures that would make me ever think of spending a dime at whatever GR kitchen the eventual winner ends up at.

Sterling could be the best cook in the whole competition and he still would not win because he's just too much of a goofball, so no worries there.

 

While true team players would have corrected Sade's mistake, I'm assuming they chose not to because they knew one of their dishes would have to be dropped and of course they all want to make sure it's not theirs. Hers was the obvious choice to dump, other than Santos's.
