Due to technical problems, I missed the top of the show, but saw the end of Weird Newscasters. I like when Ryan sings, as he's pretty goofy. I liked that Colin joined in at the end!

 

Duets was fun; I enjoy Gary as a singing addition. His "Where are you?!" refrain was super, as was his accent, imo. I liked the point when Colin came down to measure his tallness to Mr. Barnes'.

 

Secret was fun, but then it got weird.

 

Why not Living Scenery for Mr. Barnes, instead of a zillionth Helping Hands? I guess women having Ryan and Colin lay on them is funny and there's nothing funny about guys getting the same treatment?  Then why show the Misha Collins ep right after, where there was lots of fun to be had in LS? I just feel so badly for Colin after a HH segment. Yes, he signed on for everything, but that doesn't mean HH should be in practically every other episode.

 

To his credit, Mr. Barnes seemed game and ready for anything.  He also tried to help Ryan with the "drink".  Then he was weird about the high-five. Why was there a bat and a "shotgun"? I know, the setting, but I didn't think it fit with the game. Flailing with a bat can be funny, but if those three couldn't drink a shot, a bat was just waiting for a America's Funniest Home Video moment to happen.

Can we get a note to the producers to stop already with the damn Helping Hands? And also stop having guest stars!

Was this Whose Line After Dark?  Considerably dirtier than usual.

 

I let out such a sigh when Aisha announced "Helping Hands".  After a few months' break I'd hoped they came to their senses before these were filmed.  At this point, what else is there to say?  We're all pretty sick of HH, but there it is.

 

Rest of the show was fine.  Wayne and Ryan were great in Weird Newscasters.  The duet didn't do anything for me, but I didn't mind it either

I think it was the last show that had Duet without a guest star, and it was SOOOOO much more enjoyable. I have nothing against Matt Barnes -- He seems nice and has a sense of humor -- but the guest stars just get in the way. I enjoy seeing Wayne and whoever make up a song and come up with clever lyrics. The guest star is a third wheel.

 

I didn't think this was a very strong ep. Weird Newscasters was ok. I enjoyed Gary Anthony Williams' mean face. He really looked mean! And I liked Ryan's "Colin the Musical" song. It kind of reminded me of the old days.

 

Secret was weird. It seemed like both C & R weren't sure where to go with it, and then where they went was pretty awful. So Dorothy was raped. Yeah, that's funny.

 

I also thought SFAH was weak. It was pretty funny seeing Wayne do pull-ups and so forth with Colin's dick. (Who knew that sentence would ever be uttered.) But I didn't find much of what they did to be funny. Gary's joke about his man boobs was weird and icky. Wayne seemed to derail some jokes. It just seemed like they were out of sync.

 

BTW, did anyone see the Key & Peele gay wedding skit? Gary is in it, and he's pretty funny. The skit is hilarious. Here it is.

ITA it was a weak episode overall. In addition to the Secret misfire, there was another time when Colin seemed at a loss. That's so rare! If this is what got on air, imagine how bad the rest of that taping must've been.

ABay, I agree with the first, but not entirely on the second.  I don't mind having guest stars from time to time. They are mostly sung to and either are part of Living Scenery/Dubbing/Helping Hands.  Duets was more fun, imo, when it was Georgia the Chemistry teacher or Leo the mail-carrier.  There have been fun celebrities, like the Byamba, Lauren Cohen, Mircea Monroe,  the synchronized swimmers and Wilson Bethel, again, imo. The show, and we the audience, don't need these celebrities every flippin' show, though. The episodes with Proops and Jeff Davis were really fun. So were the ones with Keegan Michael Key.

According to the audience reaction, yes. Or at least, what we are led to believe was the audience's reaction, anyway. *sigh*

I agree with the first, but not entirely on the second.  I don't mind having guest stars from time to time. I have to disagree.  I'd be quite happy if the show never had another guest star.  Or another Living Scenery, Dubbing, or Helping Hands for that matter.  I've had enough of all of those games.  I haven't really enjoyed any of the celebrities in the Aisha Tyler version of the show.
