KWalkerInc March 11 Author Share March 11 Coop is worried/upset about Patience getting a job in New York. Patience gets mad. Coop doesn't freak out about Patience getting a London job offer. Patience gets mad. I do kind of understand that she probably prepared herself for one type of reaction and was thrown when she didn't get it. Coop and Patience do tend to fight a lot and aren't given enough time for cute moments, but I think they would have had them end up together if they hadn't decided they needed Coop for the show going forward (which they still didn't seem to be sure on when last season ended). It's just too bad that they want to throw it away because they needed Coop for an apparent romance with her professor. It would be nice if Coop had really become enamored with school and the law, not the tort professor. Even if Coop doesn't want to go for her, she'll probably end up facing some sort of retaliation, which sucks. I hope Marqui will be in jail or take off if he gets out on bail so that he won't be on for a while. It's only been a few episodes, but I'm tired of him and his constant badgering/manipulating of Khalil. The press release for the start of the season had already given away that Khalil was going to live with Jordan and Layla. But can't that affect his eligibility? Spencer had to live with the Bakers to go to Beverly, so wouldn't the rules be the same for a South Crenshaw student? Maybe their district doesn't have the same rules. I liked that the "fake boyfriend" scheme was recognized for being as stupid as it is, with the jokes from Cassius and Tori immediately seeing through it with no problem and mocking KJ for not really thinking it through. Khalil probably only believes it because of his dislike of KJ and Amina having kissed him. I suppose if he does go for Amina, she can just pretend that she and KJ broke up already (but she'd probably blurt out that it was fake just because it's more dramatic.) Even the fake boyfriend plot is less stupid than Jordan's incredibly clumsy and cringeworthy efforts to discover the identity of his long-lost uncle. I kept yelling at him to shut up during GW's party, not that he'd listen to me any more than he did Layla. Of course Bobby has a logical reason for disliking Jordan, and Cassius apparently lived with his dad, so now maybe Jordan will let it go and just chalk it up to missing his dad like they said. It was nice to see Laura, but I don't understand why Olivia wouldn't tell her that she's pregnant. She's so excited that she has to call Spencer instead of waiting to say it in person, but doesn't tell her mom at all? I thought she already suspected with the way she said, "Too bad Olivia has that stomach bug" or whatever. They didn't say anything about GW's involvement with Wendy, but obviously when they have all the regulars, bring back Laura and Patience and also spend like 40 bucks on a Yankees hat for Patience (because real MLB teams can exist in this universe as that league isn't criticized like pro football, leading to fake team names), they're not going to spring for Jaclyn Smith too (not that she could have added anything, except maybe to also tell Jordan to shut up). 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152275-s07e06-return-of-the-mack/#findComment-8604016
mojoween March 11 Share March 11 I just don’t understand Jordan’s insistence on shoehorning Bobby into the party when Bobby isn’t related in any way to GW. I don’t love that Coop is crushing on Professor Tort, but Layla’s jokes were making me laugh. And I want all the Coop I can get, so if it means sacrificing Patience and the Yankees cap that was more out of place than if she were wearing a lamp on her head, so be it. The fake boyfriend plan is stupid and the one I see getting hurt the most is Khalil, which is not cool. Does Crenshaw not look the doors during the school day? How does Khalil’s father keep getting in? 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152275-s07e06-return-of-the-mack/#findComment-8604054
Lonesome Rhodes March 12 Share March 12 It's almost impossible to make Greta look like a mess, but that outfit at the party is the fugliest thing I've seen her in. Yikes! Yet, she got off one of the best lines while wearing it in either AA series: "Yeah, we are." Tremendous. (and true). I was floored at how weak Marqui's threat was. After all the incredibly dark and fierce posturing, he makes like Keenan Wynn in Dr. Strangelove. "You'll have to answer to the Coca-Cola company." Marqui comes with "foster home?" I can't. Beyond lame. Absurd. We got a marvelous "Mars and Venus" piece from Patience and Coop. Coop was reacting like a guy as she instantly saw the opportunity and how amazing it was. Patience was all into implied feelings. Great, and real, moment. So, just before Jordan was gonna tell GW how sorry he was (with Laura there) guess what he did? He played with his hair. I couldn't even make that up. But it happened. LMFAO. I also loved Bobby cutting Jordan to the core as he departed, telling him he still hasn't proven a dang thing as a coach. I appreciate when a meany maintains his ill will. It's not usual. Cassius and Tori are still my favs this season. It's great how they don't hide their ability to see right through KJ. Despite the moronic "lost Uncle" arc, this was a pretty fun ep. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152275-s07e06-return-of-the-mack/#findComment-8604703
