AnimeMania February 27 Share February 27 One thousand years before Christ, Saul, the first King of Israel, loses God’s grace and consequently also his own sanity. Meanwhile far away from the palace, the legendary seer Samuel becomes aware of a talented young shepherd named David. One of the greatest stories ever told is set in motion. Raja March 9 Share March 9 The pre credit sequence of how David versus Goliath should have turned out seemed strange. As well as tactically stupid you have the longer ranged weapon, yet you charge into a thrown spear? Unless this adaptation presumes David comes back from being hit by Goliath and not winning by getting a killing first blow I don't get the open and closing scenes. It occurred to me this is the first time I've seen this story on screen, not counting the modern adaptation of NBC's Kings I think there were too many cinematic establishing shots or silhouettes going into the dawn's sun. Maybe it was made with a better theatre set up than I have in mind. I should have watched in a dark room at night as normal TV watching with the sun/shadows and the Israelites uniforms Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152102-s01e01-a-shepard-and-a-king/#findComment-8602555
mac123x March 28 Share March 28 "We've taken some liberties for story telling purposes" like making David a BASTARD with a dead mother. I like Saul, Samuel, and Jonathan. The main story line is questionable. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152102-s01e01-a-shepard-and-a-king/#findComment-8618961
