thuganomics85 Thursday at 10:36 PM Share Thursday at 10:36 PM Revisiting the Chicago massacre from the S1 finale, I see! Powerplex and his quest to bring down Invincible for what happened reminded me a lot of Bruce/Batman's motivations against Superman in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, but with more personal stake since his sister and niece were victims in it. And just like with that film, it's hard to fully sympathize with him, when it seemed clear that Invincible wasn't the instigator in all of that and was trying to stop Omni-Man from committing even more horrible acts. And the fact that he was working for the GDA means he should known the ins and outs of all of that. I guess grief really did just drive him mad. Probably didn't help that his wife strangely also seemed to be invested in this revenge tour and even egged Scott on, whenever he expressed doubts. Really, poor Baby Jack was the only real victim in all of this. Couldn't place his voice first, but once Scott started screaming in angst at the end, I knew that was good old Aaron Paul! Cue to obvious "He can't keep getting away with this!" memes! Oliver constantly asking and fretting over what everyone else thinks of Omni-Man is worrisome. Have a feeling he won't take insults to his dad lying down for long... Rae is leaving the superheroing business and Rex is sad. Robot builds Monster Girl a belt that can stop her aging process! So, Angstrum's plan is apparently to recruit all other Invincibles from various universes, and I guess throw them all at Mark. Yeah that's going to be a rough battle for Mark and everyone else! I like the idea of "normal" people wondring about the cost of having super people, and exploring what the super people notice or care about as they are involved in carnage. The Boys is based on that concept, and as you noted, Superman vs. Batman focused on an aspect of it (though poorly, IMO). I liked Scott as a man struggling through not only grief, but the fact that the supes killed people he loved and just flew away. I would have liked to have seen him as less crazy and more brilliant and driven, to be a real challenge for Invincible and the Guardians. His mental issues create a huge disadvantage vs. supes. 18 hours ago, thuganomics85 said: So, Angstrum's plan is apparently to recruit all other Invincibles from various universes, and I guess throw them all at Mark. Yeah that's going to be a rough battle for Mark and everyone else! I assume those multiverse Invincibles have been lied to, and some won't agree with the mission once they figure out the truth. It would be funny if the show then brought in multiverse Ominimans, who each have to kill an Invincible. That'd be twisted. iarwain Saturday at 11:59 PM Share Saturday at 11:59 PM I thought Powerplex was one of the better villains they've had on this show, but I was more than a little surprised that he didn't experience any self loathing over killing his wife and kid. Because that was completely his fault. As has been said, he must be mentally or emotionally damaged. That or the biggest hypocrite in the world.
