First I love the opening sequence. It’s like a fancy game of mouse trap. I also noticed that one of the books that fell over was The Magus. I’ve read that book and was surprised to see it there. I don’t see it as something that’s a common read.
WOW on the dead body being found was JP’s Dad. I wonder why someone had gone into the pond until I saw the aquarium with the fish. I wonder if the new owners planned to drain it. Perhaps to put in a pool?
Grace should never have confided to her new husband that she killed JP. She should have expected some repercussions. I wonder how much the daughter heard when she was on the stairs eavesdropping.

Last season, we saw JP take his dad out of the cellar freezer, put him in a suitcase, and throw him into the pond. Of course, he figured no one would find his dad's body because he wasn't planning to sell the house.

I can't believe Grace told Ian what she had done, all while hiding so much from her sisters. I'm curious to know if Ian is a good guy or if we'll find out something bad about him later. Either way, I can't say I blame him for running.

Am not exactly sure how much time has passed, 2 years? But it’s good to have some updates about the Garvey sisters — getting help from a menopause coach, getting married, trying for a new baby, pills addiction and a new boyfriend.

Let’s talk about the opening scene.

Four sisters (minus Grace) in a car that isn’t theirs, in the middle of the night at a cliff side. They’re trying to dispose something. Becka has a black eye. There’s something in the trunk, wrapped in a soft cow-print blanket. It shows sign of life when they open the trunk and we see the sisters running away screaming.

Could it be Angelica, Roger, Loftus, Houlihan or Ian? The body doesn’t seem big though.

Angelica has a couple of bunnies. We see in the opening credit that a taxidermied brown bunny has been shot. And why Angelica is called “The Wagon”?

Becka’s throwing up in the potted plant at Grace’s wedding, is she pregnant? There’s a pregnancy test in the opening credit.

Grace confesses to Ian about killing JP is clearly a big mistake. She puts more trust in Roger and Ian than her sisters. This will get messy.

“We didn’t get many visitors as kids.”

So happy to have this show back! I know it was a limited series and so this second season could be hit or miss, but so far the setup is intriguing enough, and as I've said before, I could watch an entire season of just the Garvey sisters drinking wine in Eva's kitchen and shooting the breeze. The sisterly banter is still top-notch.

I wonder if they felt like, without JP, they needed another character for the audience to "love to hate," and so that will be the role of Fiona Shaw's character. I don't think she'll reach the levels of visceral revulsion that JP evoked in me, but I could see her becoming a very uncomfortable character to watch (the scene at the races where she lied to Roger about making the bet, seemingly just to spite him because of how excited he was, was a huge red flag).

I'm not sure why, but my money's on the dead body in the trunk being Becka's boyfriend. I think they could be setting him up as being another "prick," starting off subtly with his lesbophobic comments in this episode. Becka having a nasty eye bruise in the body dump scene could also be pointing in that direction.

Loving the addition of Det. Houlihan. She's absolutely adorable and clearly a smart cookie, and she makes a good comedic pairing with Loftus. I hope we see him grow to respect her as the season progresses.

I thought exactly the same thing, both about the throwing up and the pregnancy test in the opening credits.

Lastly, Eva looked stunning in that mustard-coloured pantsuit at the wedding. My crush on Sharon Horgan is back in full force, it seems.
