Snazzy Daisy November 5, 2024 Author Share November 5, 2024 This series is beautifully shot. The bitterness and resentment that Mama Elena has towards Tita is a bit puzzling. Why? Just because she had to push harder when giving birth to her while tears flooded the kitchen floor? Then there’s a rivalry between Tita and Rosaura (the eldest), flamed by Mama Elena’s interference and Rosaura’s desperation to be the favorite daughter. For a story about a young woman in 1908 Mexico who infuses her cooking with her own emotions, there isn’t much cooking going on. Tita only makes cream fritters and quesadillas in this episode. There’s no luscious food porn, yet. But the nurturing dynamic between Tita and Nacha is lovely to watch. I fast forward through all Pedro Jr’s political scenes. 😣 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150409-s01e01-cream-soaked-french-toast/#findComment-8499051
AnimeMania November 6, 2024 Share November 6, 2024 I don't think I want to eat in a kitchen that never cleans their floors. And that salt doesn't seem very sanitary either. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150409-s01e01-cream-soaked-french-toast/#findComment-8499817
Haleth November 6, 2024 Share November 6, 2024 I never read the book but this kind of seems like a Jane Austen story. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150409-s01e01-cream-soaked-french-toast/#findComment-8500179
