S03.E06: Scar Tissue

Fatima and Ellis make a big decision about her pregnancy; Boyd fears for the future of his family; Tensions rise in the Matthews house; Randall opens up to Marielle about his fears.

It’s been obvious for weeks, that the only thing Fatima was pregnant with was anticipation lol but least it’s confirmed. She’s either turning or dying and neither option is a surprise. The monsters waking up and letting Victor go did surprise me though, I expected for his dad to die at their hands. Their reunion has been so bittersweet and watching Henry’s sadness at realizing just how alone and traumatized his son had been for 40 years of his life was rough. And I don’t mind the focus on the new characters but Donna’s almost seemed like a background character this season and I want to see her rally and have a bit more to do.  

This episode definitely felt more slow—it takes these people forever to have even half a conversation and that’s before you pause for miscommunications!—than the others but I’ve been wishing that they’d pick up the pace for the season in general. I know the final two episodes are titled Revelations but I hope there’s a little more action in store before we get to those.

"There is nowhere else to look" What do you mean?! You barely looked at her uterus, nowhere else. Never heard of an ectopic pregnancy? Worst doctors ever.

In the meta of the show it's obvious that Fatima isn't pregnant but instead infected with mysterious plot, but it shouldn't be that obvious for the characters and would it really hurt them to act half-way believable for once?

If they get out again, they could use that Polaroid camera to take pictures of people, and have proof they’re still alive.

True--and it's not like they'll run out of film.  The camera has the same magic powers as Boyd's gun;  it replenishes its own ammo.

That entire Matthew family can just go away.  I spent years raising kids that will whine and dealing with moody teenagers. 

I want to see crazy stuff and crap getting solved, damnit.
