Directed by Oscar winner Orlando von Einsiedel, along with Lali Houghton and Colombian Jorge Durán, this documentary tells the incredible story from the point of view of those involved in this epic rescue: the children's family, indigenous communities and leaders, and the Colombian army. mmecorday November 22 Share November 22 This was a very gripping documentary, but I wish it would have told us more about what the children did to survive those 40 long days in the rainforest. Thank heavens the indigenous men in the search party didn't abandon their mission. My heart goes out to Lesly, who had to shoulder the responsibility of looking after her younger siblings. I can't imagine how terrified she must have been. What relief she must have felt when she and her siblings were finally safe. Link to comment
Raja November 23 Share November 23 I remember some part of the story that the police search dog had found the kids and was with them for a while before he was lost. That doesn't seem to be the case as told here. The bad twist with the allegations about the father, still awaiting trial as of the release of the doc. With the great twist being the formerly drafted child soldier being so instrumental in the search and rescue. I couldn't tell if reporters were embedded with the army and community search teams or shot for the documentary. Given the time frame from the incident to release I am guessing that the press were there for the 40 days Link to comment
