Territory is a Drama TV Series with all 6 episodes being released on October 24, 2024 on Netflix. 

Territory chronicles the “world’s largest cattle station”, the multi-billion dollar Marianne Station in The Northern Territory of Australia. 

Colin Lawson, owner of Marianne Station, life is thrown into upheaval when the heir to his cattle station, his 41 year-old son, Daniel Lawson, dies unexpectedly, but was his death accidental? Without a clear line of succession, and possibly their lives in danger, this throws the rest of the Lawson family into crisis mode as they reach for their guns. 

While the outback’s most powerful factions – rival cattle barons, desert gangsters, Indigenous elders, and billionaire miners, all see an excellent opportunity for advancement.

Robert Taylor as Colin Lawson, the defiantly tradition-bound owner/patriarch of the world’s largest cattle ranch, Marianne Station. Colin Lawson rules the place with a iron fist, resolutely trying to maintain the empire that has been his family’s legacy for generations. After the suspicious death of his eldest son and chosen heir, Daniel Lawson, clashes over succession threaten to tear the Lawson clan apart. Does he still have what it takes to keep the wolves at bay.

Jake Ryan as Daniel Lawson, the son and heir of cattle baron Colin Lawson, who dies at the age of 41, upheaving the clear line of succession of the multi-billion dollar Marianne Station.

Michael Dorman as Graham Lawson, Colin’s well-intentioned but hopelessly alcoholic surviving son.

Anna Torv as Emily Lawson, Graham’s wife, a sympathetic family member, but can she be trusted.

I've heard this show described as the Australian "Yellowstone." I'll give it a shot but it'd get bonus points from me if they'd bring over Kevin Costner, lol.

It's got Robert "Longmire" Taylor instead. I'd forgotten that he was 'Strayn. So far for me (Epi. 1) it's a cheap clone of Yellowstone but the characters are intriguing. It could become interesting. It's only 6 episodes so not much of a time investment for what could become a decent drama.

On a technical note, the color grading is...jarring. I know they're trying to amp up how hot and inhospitable the land is, but the deep yellow shifts are just unpleasant visually.
