tired and hungry September 25 Share September 25 Ummm what just happened? I'm so confused by that ending! I was skipping majority of the episodes since it was just scenery or just focused on her doing one thing for like 5-10 mins... There's barely any dialogue in most of the episodes.. Overall i'm just confused with this show.. Someone who really enjoys nature and the spiritual aspect of this may like this. Although I feel it started getting a bit too spiritual towards the end (maybe that's what the creators were going for) Also I'm curious, if you are in a national park, are you allowed to build stuff with the trees and basically create a home there? I thought those places forbid stuff like that. So why were there random people cutting trees there? I know they explained it but aren't trees in parks protected. IDK but that tree cutting episode felt so weird. I also felt the way this was portrayed was kinda dangerous. You can't just buy stuff and go into the woods and expect to survive with 0 skills. Sure she made a lot of mistakes and things obviously went wrong for her but everything just seemed to solve itself like a happy ending.. Every person she met were just so nice and ended up helping her with everthing she needed ? What are the chances of that happening when you're out alone in the woods?? Link to comment
circumvent September 30 Share September 30 The show is a fantasy, it is also some type to criticism of how teenagers live these days. There is a whole generation of young people who grew up with media, social media, computers and phones as an appendix to their bodies. the show imagines, and goes beyond, what would mean to live without any of those things, really listening and seeing what is around us I don't think it is supposed to be realistic, since it is fantasy. I do think that it is, in part, meant to be aspirational. Not that every teenager should go out in the wild and learn how to forage but the story is meant to maybe inspire them (any of us really) to see what is around us and that we have been too busy looking down on our phones and devices to see and appreciate What I didn't understand is the death of the parents, and the lack of AMBER alerts. But it is a beautifully made show and I can live with the lack of coherence. Link to comment
