A New Way To Request Forums (trial period)

Hi everyone,

it’s been suggested that forums are requested via a standard form. As that would be a more elaborate process, I’ve come up with a compromise until a time that a form might be considered.

Here, you’ll find a template to request forums. Please copy or quote it to request forums in that topic.
Fields with asterisk are required so that a forum can be created. Anything else is optional.

Please note that this doesn’t constitute a permanent change. It’s only a trial and should it turn out to be inconvenient or impractical, we’ll go back to forum requests as they were.

Appreciate if you could provide us with the acceptable list of CATEGORY* for our easy reference.

For the "anticipated" new show, there will be no header image yet. It will have to be requested via "Header Requests" later when its promotional materials have been released.

Category refers to any of the Primetimer categories.

Are you suggesting with the Nonfiction & Docs category example that you want us to use this form to request new doc forums or are we still allowed to create them ourselves? Or is that supposed to be for asking for new doc categories?

I think we'd use the form to request a new forum - like if a new streaming service came out, and it produced documentaries, there would need to be a [New Streaming Service] forum created in the Nonfiction & Documentaries category.  But we still create topics within the existing forums ourselves - so if Netflix releases a trailer for an upcoming documentary, we just go ahead and create a topic for that doc within Nonfiction & Documentaries > Netflix.

@DanaK I listed all of the existing categories at Primetimer without considering that Doc/Nonfic is (largely) topics. I'm sorry for the confusion.

not sure where to put this so asking here.  where do we suggest new shows to follow? i watch a competitive/reality show called relative race and would love to see it added as a forum here so we can discus/enjoy it together. can anyone point me in the right direction?

In the first post in this thread, there’s a link on the word “here”. That will take you to a thread with a template you can use to request a forum for a new show.
