Whimsy September 8, 2023 Share September 8, 2023 From Entertainment Weekly: Name: Sabiyah Broderick Age: 28 Hometown: Locust Grove, GA Current Residence: Jacksonville, NC Occupation: Truck Driver 3 Words to Describe You: Resilient, vibrant, proud. Why do you want to be part of Survivor? It's a game that challenges you not only physically, mentally, and emotionally, but spiritually. It's a test of will and faith. What's one life experience you feel has prepared you for the game? Four years active duty [in the] United States Marine Corps. Which previous player do you identify with the most? Who do you think you will play most like? I love Cirie's heart and strategic mind. She's a legend in this game. I hope I can carry the same legacy of grace. What will you value in an alliance partner? A chameleon. I need adaptability and a level of secrecy. Trust is a given but I'd like to align with the least suspected but most sensible. Favorite Hobbies: Basketball, new restaurant dates, painting. Pet Peeves: Laziness. An "I can't" attitude. What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? Serving my country. Helping my dad vacation to Africa (his dream). What is something we would never know from looking at you? I'm a truck driver. I have four brothers (no sisters). I'm a Marine. Who in your life is your biggest inspiration and why? My parents. My dad is an immigrant from Jamaica, born into poverty and now teaches engineering and has three degrees. My mom raised five kids and battled isolation from her own family at times. She never gives up and never accepts the minimum effort. Why will you be the Sole Survivor? I have been preparing unconsciously for this show my whole life. It is my destiny to be the Sole Survivor. Link to comment
LadyChatts October 12, 2023 Share October 12, 2023 Exit interview https://ew.com/tv/survivor-45-sabiyah-broderick-interview/ -she said it took between 20-25 minutes for the wax to burn around the idol, and Jeff let them just sit there until it was done -had a weird vibe from Emily after she came back from talking to Kaleb, but said they were anticipating a swap and felt that she would need the idol. Also felt like she hadn't voted all season but had still been safe -said that she didn't see the reason to keep Emily's SITD and wanted to build trust with her, but said she was still hesitant to tell her about the idol (especially after the previous TC when Emily was asking if she voted for her). Guess that was maybe when Emily was trying to figure out why only two votes got read -she decided to target Kaleb after he came back from Reba and talked about getting everyone alone there and giving Drew the advantage. Felt like he was making himself a social threat. Also noticed he was spending a lot of time with Emily, not understanding why if he was supposed to be in an alliance with her and Sean -said that her and Sean should have acted more on the feelings they were having about Kaleb and Emily. She felt she put the work in but thinks she could have done better -when Kendra came to their beach for that first vote, she said that only her and Sean were the only ones who knew she had a vote. She would have liked to have been with Kendra at the swap and maybe gotten in on the girls alliance at Belo (of course that may or may not include Kellie) 2 Link to comment
Nashville October 12, 2023 Share October 12, 2023 Sabiyah was one of those players I really liked at the very onset - but from there on out my initial favorable impression kept getting eroded by her behavior/actions. 2 Link to comment
