[BUG] "Mark Forum Read" doesn't ask for confirmation on mobile (iPhone/Safari)

I reported this before but I think it got merged into the general site update thread and/or got pushed down in favor of higher priorities.  At least I never saw a response to confirm whether this was a known bug or WYSIWIG.  When I'm on pc/windows10/Firefox and I want to mark a forum read, it asks me for confirmation.  On my iPhone (Safari) it doesn't.  Since (at least for me) it's relatively easy to swipe my finger in the wrong place, I'd really like to have that second level of confirmation.  Since it happens on non-mobile, I'm hoping that it's just a tweak that has to be made to the mobile version.  Is that something you can consider?

Going to go ahead and add this to the 'hopefully the April update will resolve' container. Will post in here when that's happened and we will see what we will see after that, thanks for your patience in advance.

Thanks, I’ll let you know if/when I see the behavior change. I’m 99.9% sure it did ask for confirmation at some point in the past. Not sure if the change happened with the big theme update, but it’s very noticeable now because of the other current bug, where topics are showing as having unread posts and you have to mark it read to clear it.

@SoMuchTV

Any news?

I just tried it out on iPhone/Safari and it still doesn't ask for confirmation.  PC/Firefox is still working as expected. In fact, it asks even if there is no unread content in the forum.  Speaking for myself, I'd rather have it be too cautious (asking when it doesn't have to) than the way it works on iPhone (doesn't ask at all).  But it seems like ideally, both (mobile & pc) should ask for confirmation if and only if you're about to mark unread threads as "read".

@SoMuchTV Has this been resolved now?

Nope, still behaving the way I originally reported:  iPhone/Safari does not ask for confirmation, pc/Firefox does ask (even if there is actually nothing unread).

I'm curious - is this just me?  Is nobody on your end able to reproduce it?  I see at least one other poster liked my original post so I guess that means they have(had?) the same issue?  @ebk57

Nobody else has reported this and I don't use the mobile site myself. Clearly this is a device/browser-related issue. As it seems the software updates haven't resolved it, I'll ping the dev on it again.

Sorry, I thought I mentioned that on my iphone/Safari, the site doesn't ask me if I want x thread or forum marked read, either. So it's not just @SoMuchTV

It does, indeed, happen on my phone (a Galaxy using Chrome).  No confirmation needed.  I do have the confirm popup box on my laptop (also using Chrome).  I just never posted about it because I thought it was normal.

Thanks - hopefully that will give @SilverStormm more information to ping the devs with.

Marking everything as read seems like the kind of irreversible action that would be good to have confirmation for. Especially since it does require confirmation on the non-mobile version.
