I don't remember vlogging being a thing in 2004. People had webcams running, and blogging was popular. Some people got book deals through them - I have a friend who was a known blogger at the time, and people were adding their amazon wishlists to their sites. People would buy them things. It was another way to make friends online, before social media became popular.
