DanaK March 24, 2022 Share March 24, 2022 Quote An HBO documentary. A wide-ranging, definitive look at Hawk’s life and iconic career, and his relationship with the sport with which he’s been synonymous for decades. Hawk, born in San Diego, Calif., is a pioneer of modern vertical skating and one of the most influential skateboarders of all time. The documentary features unprecedented access, never-before-seen footage, and interviews with Hawk, and prominent figures in the sport including Stacy Peralta, Rodney Mullen, Mike McGill, Lance Mountain, Steve Caballero, Neil Blender, Andy MacDonald, Duane Peters, Sean Mortimer, and Christian Hosoi. larapu2000 March 28, 2022 Share March 28, 2022 So excited about this doc!!!! I love Tony Hawk, and as someone who has never successfully stayed on a skateboard for more than 5 seconds, I love a good skating documentary. 4 Link to comment
Tachi Rocinante April 25, 2022 Share April 25, 2022 (edited) Not what I expected at all. Very introspective and a bit depressing. They glossed over the renwed hate he got after he won X Games street. He wasn't street and most top skaters didn't compete because they saw it as selling out. No mention of Gleaming The Cube. I could listen to Rodney Mullen all day. Tony snapped his femur a month ago on a failed McTwist. Would have like to see a mention of the young kids like Schaar and Brusco, and the progression into 1080s and 1260s off the mega ramp.
